Must hold strong on RVP. Yes he scored a hat-trick yesterday. Yes he plays wigan at home next. But he pretty much needs to score a hat trick every week in order to be worth his price (not quite, but not far off), and after wigan Man Utds fixtures take a serious turn for the worse. If I could have got him in for last week, without a hit, I would have done. But I would have had to downgrade carzola to a sub 6m midfielder to fund it, so I would actually have been worse off.
NB The fact that Mrs China Mag got him in for GW2 makes me feel a bit more comfortable not getting him in!Open Controls

Open ControlsIt suddenly dawned on me the other day, that ALL transfers (unless you have two in the bank) effectively cost 4pts. Not necessarily at the time of the transfer, but at some point in the future. There are always times when you need to make a double transfer (injuries, restructuring, etc). If you carry over a transfer, rather than using it, then you will save yourself a hit in the future. This is very important if considering making a short term transfer. Is my thinking correct? If it is, it seems that very few people consider this when making transfers.

Marveaux will become Guthrie when I get around to it. I have two transfers this week so I might do it this week. However, I also want to get rid of zabaleta, nasri and tarabaat, so need to decide on my priorities. Popular theory - which has been interpreted in the wrong context
The reason you don't take all hits at once, is simply cause you don't want to get rid of all these players at once or you don't want all incoming players at once.
So you look at the fixtures of these players, and say maybe I give them one more week, if he impresses me he can stay in my team.
Or for that incoming player - either his fixture is difficult so you wanna wait a week or two before you can get him, or you are confused from which player to choose from
Also going with all your transfers in a single week, will lead to getting players who did really well that week. Their impact is fresh on your mind, and can cloud your judgement.
For eg-:
I am planning a hit after gw4, for Kagawa->B.Arfa, and Noble->AJ
Now clearly I don't want to get rid of Kagawa this week
a) He faces wigan at home
b) B.Arfa faces Everton
Similar with Noble and AJ.
Also by waiting another week, I give both of them a chance to impress, some other player may emerge, injuries may occur, hence the wait and a structured lay-off.

I don't know who created the quote that sounds like "It's better to be a week late on the bandwagon rather than a month early". I've made late decision on Bale based on this wisdom and have just parted company with him.. It might be late and he gets the juicy fixtures on hands and he might be due... I know.
But the possibility that I will lose 0.2-0.3m of value in him could hit my team more in the long-term. I could immediately invest 9.5m in him on another player with same potential, but also get price rise too.

Was quite happy with this team last week but A LOT has changed.
Here are my concerns:
1. DDG (don't want to waste transfers on GK but 6.0 is too much for rotation)
2. Zab (lack of CSs and rotation)
3. Kagawa (only got him in last week, don't doubt his potential but rotation)
4. Kaca (rotation)
5. Already used my FT on Bale -> Hazard
5. Last but definitely not least: RVP!!!
So what should I do? This is what I'm thinking of:
A. WC. I'm very reluctant to do this but it's an option
B. Torres -> RVP -4pts. Not ideal as I kept Torres over his blank and is in good form but might have to...
