The World Cup 2014 Qualifiers are up and running, giving Fantasy managers plenty to fret about as our assets turn out for their respective nations. With plenty of games right across the globe last night, we cast an eye over the performances of our Premier League protagonists:

Nikica Jelavic needed just five minutes to serve a reminder of his abilities ahead of Everton’s strong run of fixtures. Jelavic climbed off the bench as a replacement for Eduardo midway through the second-half of Croatia’s home clash with Macedonia and headed home the only goal of the game. Wales were felled 2-0 at home by Belgium, thanks to a couple of goalscoring Premier League centre-halves. Vincent Kompany and Jan Vertonghen grabbed a goal apiece, with the latter highlighting his set-piece capabilities by firing home a free-kick late on.

West Brom’s Zoltan Gera was handed the first 45 minutes in Hungary’s 5-0 win away to Andorra. The Baggies midfielder slotted home a spot-kick just after the half-hour mark to help his side to the top of Group Four. Holland saw off Turkey 2-0 at home as they try to put their dire Euro 2012 display behind them – Robin Van Persie opened the scoring for the Dutch to maintain his fantastic form up front.

Gylfi Sigurdsson helped Iceland to a 2-0 win over Norway last night. The midfielder put his Tottenham frustrations behind him to set up Alfred Finnbogason to fire home his side’s second with less than 10 minutes left on the clock. Edin Dzeko continued the recent form that has seen him score twice and provide an assist in the first three Gameweeks for City. The forward played the full 90 minutes for Bosnia away to Liechtenstein and grabbed a hat-trick in an 8-1 romp.

England got off to the perfect start away to Moldova last night with a Frank Lampard brace helping seal a very comfortable victory. Jermain Defoe, James Milner and Leighton Baines rounded off the scoring. Five players supplied the assists for Roy Hodgson’s side – Tom Cleverley, Glen Johnson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and subs Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck were the providers in the 5-0 win. John Terry is thought to be nursing a twisted ankle ahead of the Ukraine match next midweek, while Steven Gerrard was taken off at half-time as a precaution.

France have Abou Diaby to thank for a 1-0 win away to Finland. A shining light in Arsenal’s recent win at Liverpool, the midfielder was afforded the full 90 minutes and fired the only goal of the game on 20 minutes for Didier Deschamps’ side. Diaby’s Gunners team mate Santi Cazorla was also on target in Spain’s hammering of Saudi Arabia. The summer signing from Malaga opened the scoring as Vicente Del Bosque’s side racked up a 5-0 friendly win. Tottenham’s new boy Clint Dempsey was amongst the goals last night but his efforts were not enough to stop the USA losing 2-1 away to Jamaica

Morning FFS would be appreciated if you could cast your eyes over these future moves.

    Current team:

    DDG - Fed

    Ridgewell - Ivan - Hange - Mcartney - Clyne

    Hazard - Yaya - Michu - Pienaar - Maloney

    RVP - Tevez - Graham

    0.7 in bank

I'm thinking over the next few gameweeks barring any injuries or bandwagons that this is how i should do my transfers

    GW5 - DDG > Jussi
    GW6 - Fed > Bego
    GW7 - Yaya - Carzola

That would leave me with roughly 1.2m in the bank which is always nice!

That's not a good plan. Sorry.

You will have more pressing transfers every week than gks.

Caz could have broken his leg by gw7, though that is a fair time to have him pencilled in for.

i would need to do DDG to jussi anyways to free up the cash.

providing you don't get any injuries and if graham and maloney rotate well then it should be good! but planning your transfers rarely works out! its only inevitable that another "must have" bandwagon comes along or one of your core players gets injured

Cazorla or RVP captain? It's not that clear choice with RVP when Rooney is injured he's their main man now. They could beat Wigan at home with Welbeck and Chicarito up front. I don't think RVP will play more than 60 minutes.

I also think that it's crazy not to captain him when he plays Wigan at home. Their up coming fixtures just worry me. There's going to be rotation at some point....

    Hi everyone.

Feeling very bored having not played my wildcard.
Also potenitally feeling very stupid for deciding not to get Hazard in.
One of those gut feelings that will most likely backfire on me....

How is everyone coping through the two week break?

Why is everyone playing their bloody WC?....do not play it unless you have to take more than a 4 point hit and if you do play it don't just pick all the players that scored highly last week.

People do it to cash in on price rises.
Lot of people who played last well last week might be bought to catch the double-rise, then sold with full WC team sorted on the friday.

Can I just check what you mean?

We can use our WC this week and pick a team of people who will rise in price (or we think will) in the next couple of days, whether we want them as players or not. Then the prices go up and we sell them, gain all the profit and then select the team we do actually want with a bit of profit on the side... All using just one wildcard?

        Sounds brilliant.....

Bit late I think. You want to activate your wildcard immediately to take advantage of potential double risers.

BIngo - thats it. Because you have 2 weeks of price rise, you can get more people to rise by 0.2 than normally. Sell the ones you dont want for 0.1 more.

Only thing to make sure is that the players you actually want don't rise when they're not in your squad.

You are correct but generally you would want to keep most of the highest risers anyway. You cash in when they get injured or lose form later

    Ivanovic, Demel, Cuellar, ?, ?

Ronh is being clever with his RVP spamming... if he plays everyone will let it pass as Ronh being Ronh, but if he was benched Ronh would have a field day gloating 🙂

I don't think he would show Wigan disrespect by not starting him, he is more likely to take him off if things are going well. Don't forget Wellbeck is also playing Internationals

Not everyone will let it pass, I actually find his spamming far from clever, RVP will be assessed on his return from international duty, and a decision will be then made on whether he starts, a process that applies to all players returning from international duty. Logic rules, there is a possibility he may not start, however it is not a definite that he won't.

I can't see RVP not playing unless he gets a knock. With no Rooney it would be silly to risk not playing your best striker and possibly end up dropping points.

Certainly agree, drop a striker on the back of a hatrick, in a game they would have lost without him ain't gonna happen.

Planning to bring Torres back in (Defoe out) for the next couple of games and then switch to Jelavic. Or I might give Torres the Arsenal match to prove his mettle against a bigger club if he is still scoring. Sound like a half-plan?

Ivanovic at the back, nothing else attacking. He looks back in form, burnt me badly last year but if he's firing the Tevez-RvP-Torres front three is going to do well.
