The World Cup 2014 Qualifiers are up and running, giving Fantasy managers plenty to fret about as our assets turn out for their respective nations. With plenty of games right across the globe last night, we cast an eye over the performances of our Premier League protagonists:

Nikica Jelavic needed just five minutes to serve a reminder of his abilities ahead of Everton’s strong run of fixtures. Jelavic climbed off the bench as a replacement for Eduardo midway through the second-half of Croatia’s home clash with Macedonia and headed home the only goal of the game. Wales were felled 2-0 at home by Belgium, thanks to a couple of goalscoring Premier League centre-halves. Vincent Kompany and Jan Vertonghen grabbed a goal apiece, with the latter highlighting his set-piece capabilities by firing home a free-kick late on.

West Brom’s Zoltan Gera was handed the first 45 minutes in Hungary’s 5-0 win away to Andorra. The Baggies midfielder slotted home a spot-kick just after the half-hour mark to help his side to the top of Group Four. Holland saw off Turkey 2-0 at home as they try to put their dire Euro 2012 display behind them – Robin Van Persie opened the scoring for the Dutch to maintain his fantastic form up front.

Gylfi Sigurdsson helped Iceland to a 2-0 win over Norway last night. The midfielder put his Tottenham frustrations behind him to set up Alfred Finnbogason to fire home his side’s second with less than 10 minutes left on the clock. Edin Dzeko continued the recent form that has seen him score twice and provide an assist in the first three Gameweeks for City. The forward played the full 90 minutes for Bosnia away to Liechtenstein and grabbed a hat-trick in an 8-1 romp.

England got off to the perfect start away to Moldova last night with a Frank Lampard brace helping seal a very comfortable victory. Jermain Defoe, James Milner and Leighton Baines rounded off the scoring. Five players supplied the assists for Roy Hodgson’s side – Tom Cleverley, Glen Johnson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and subs Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck were the providers in the 5-0 win. John Terry is thought to be nursing a twisted ankle ahead of the Ukraine match next midweek, while Steven Gerrard was taken off at half-time as a precaution.

France have Abou Diaby to thank for a 1-0 win away to Finland. A shining light in Arsenal’s recent win at Liverpool, the midfielder was afforded the full 90 minutes and fired the only goal of the game on 20 minutes for Didier Deschamps’ side. Diaby’s Gunners team mate Santi Cazorla was also on target in Spain’s hammering of Saudi Arabia. The summer signing from Malaga opened the scoring as Vicente Del Bosque’s side racked up a 5-0 friendly win. Tottenham’s new boy Clint Dempsey was amongst the goals last night but his efforts were not enough to stop the USA losing 2-1 away to Jamaica

Funny how on RTÉ they were arguing over whether or not Trapattoni should be sacked without actually reviewing the match properly.

I suppose but they didn't actually look at the players, individual plays and a proper review and analysis of the match afterwards. It just degenerated into 'Crap Football, Sack Trap'.

C - but I wouldn't suggest picking sterling. Sure he is being dealt a lot of game time but I don't predict he will score much goals.. actually nevermind at just 4.5m just 2points per game is good enough

that's another option but there is a much better chance of Sterling getting a price rise than Guthrie who is already dropping

    Team for the week:

    Jaas
    Hughes Ivanovic Gibbs
    Guthrie Hazard Michu Cazorla
    RVP Fletcher Tevez

    Subs:Bego, Maloney, Boyce, O’Brien

On a WC now, all critics welcome!

Crap! You didn't specify constructive critics 😉

Just kidding. I can't stand the fact you have both Guthrie and Maloney on your team though. It should be either one or the other imo to warm the bench most days. I'd suggest Fletcher to Lambert to allow for Maloney to Snodgrass/Nolan etc

Either that or Cazorla to a cheaper mid (Pienaar/McClean/Barfa) to upgrade Guthrie or Maloney.

pretty good overall - watch out for the santos/gibbs rotation - look for more certain options in Coloccini or Williams (swansea)

Should I get Baines now, or stick with Vert until GW 6 when Spurs' fixtures decline and Everton's pick up?

Anyone think Ben Davies will be a good defender to get (until January at least) now that Neil Taylor's out for the season? Only 4.0? Don't know if he's a cert for the Swansea left-back position just yet though...

Laudrup has been saying that he's looking at free agents to cover the left back position, because Davies is only young. But for 4.0, it's so tempting!

This is a pretty good WC right?
    Foster - Begovic
    Baines - Gibbs - Cuellar - Demel - Davies
    Hazard - Cazorla - Michu - Pienaar - Guthrie
    RVP - Tevez - Petric

Petric > Lambert after this week.

I could downgrade Gibbs and upgrade Pienaar to Ben Arfa if that would be better?

I like it, youre right, Arsenal may not keep their clean sheet run over their next few games and Bens in form...

In attempting to stray away from the bandwagons and template squads, I've end up with the following team. Any suggestions from you well-informed lads will be greatly appreciated:

    Howard /Bego
    Vermalaen Ivanovich Zabaleta /Jenkinson Clyne
    Kagawa Yaya Barfa Piennar /Kanclanicic
    Tevez Torres Graham

*Note that I'm considering Graham to Morrison or Lambert in hopes of freeing enough cash to get Santi.

need some help guys would appreciate some
I’m new here and it’s my first fantasy season
I’ve used my wildcard during the break to make some profit and most of the players in my team are for profit. Are they good ones to buy? Any suggestions on who I should get for profit?

My team ATM(for profit, or at least a noob attempting to make some profit)

    Vorm(Cerny)
Ivanovic Demel Reid McAuley MerteSacker.(bought most of them for the price they were at on(8sept)
Hazard cazorla michu toure sterling(had toure and hazard before GW started got michu and Cazorla recently Michu for 7.3)
RVP Tevez Pogbrenyak(Since GW 2 except pogbre)

    Help? 😀
