Our Friday evening regular is back to tempt you with a trio of overlooked alternatives ahead of tomorrowโ€™s deadline. After our Bulgarian headline act came up trumps last weekend, our new batch have plenty to live up to…

Aaron Lennon

With 2011/12 Fantasy heavyweights such as Gareth Bale, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Clint Dempsey amongst the competition for our Tottenham midfield affections this term, the former Leeds winger has stayed firmly under the radar. Itโ€™s been a steady opening from Lennon, though โ€“ providing an assist in two of his opening four matches under Andre Villas-Boas, heโ€™s certainly proven the best value of the quartet so far.

Coming in at 7.0 in FPL and 6.0 in the Sky Sports game, Lennon offers an intriguing mid-price alternative for those Fantasy managers who are keen to take a punt on Spurs without going overboard on the budget. Game time looks assured, too โ€“ he has played all but four minutes of the London outfitโ€™s campaign so far and, having been handed the armband for the midweek Europa League showdown with Lazio, he is clearly looked upon as a key member of the first XI.

Up against a QPR side that are devoid of the likes of Fabio and Armand Traore at left-back, Lennon could be set to prosper this Sunday as Villas-Boas attempts to finally clinch a first win at the Lane. With home clashes against Villa and Wigan to follow in the next six, in addition to a trip to Southampton, Lennon โ€“ with just 4% FPL ownership โ€“ seems a tempting over the next few Gameweeks.

Adam Lallana

An assist in the opener at City hinted at his potential but since then, itโ€™s been pretty quiet in terms of returns for the Southampton midfielder. Lallana has been getting into the opposition box on plenty of occasions but has yet to benefit from his intelligent runs forward from midfield โ€“ bearing in mind he played a part in 24% of his sideโ€™s goals last season, with 10 goals and 11 assists, his attacking instincts are clearly crucial to the Saintsโ€™ forward forays.

Having failed to pick up a point from their opening four, Nigel Adkinsโ€™ side are set to welcome Villa to St Maryโ€™s tomorrow. The hosts may have shown plenty battle in losses to City and United but they can ill-afford defeat here; Adkins will have his troops fired up for the midlandersโ€™ visit, with a victory crucial to his sideโ€™s cause.

While Rickie Lambert has picked up a substantial number of new suitors this week, Lallana has been mainly ignored โ€“ only 713 FPL managers have snapped up his services ahead of tomorrowโ€™s deadline. Priced at 6.0 in FPL and 4.9 in theSky Sports game 4.9 with a mere 1.5% and 2.3% ownership respectively and with a fair share of corners and free-kicks also in his locker, tomorrow could be the platform Lallana needs for his burgeoning talents to flourish.

Shaun Maloney

A consistent finish to the previous campaign brought the Wigan midfielder onto our Fantasy radars. Having missed most of the season through injury, Maloney returned to pick up 52 FPL points over just eight starts, with a series of eye-catching displays helping the Latics clinch top-flight survival. Match-fit and injury-free, heโ€™s off to a bright start this time round โ€“ starting all four of his sideโ€™s games, the Scot has already accrued a goal and assist against Stoke and Southampton respectively, drawing blanks against Chelsea and United.

Up against travel-sick Fulham tomorrow, Maloney offer a real cut-price midfield alternative for our five-man midfields. Coming in at 5.0 in FPL, heโ€™s currently owned by a mere 1.4% of managers and with his spot-kick duties already coming in handy this season, Maloney’s owners will be confident of returns – the Cottagers have shipped three goals in both of their away games so far.

      after last week's horror show with RVP i dont fancy gambling too much again on these things. i had a feeling he'd be rested and he was, and i have the feeling with Hazard too (though less so). I got it on Barfa myself.

          barfa is a great option imo out of anyone this week - super fixture and he has come very close to scoring in the past few (he's been very attacking). newcastle too will be better with confidence after the performance at everton i reckon. its not a wild bet to go with barfa, i think its justified especially considering other big teams' fixtures.

                You never know, didn't RVP get a hat trick against Chelsea last year? I kind of think Liverpool will rise to the occasion and HBA didn't play mid-week, so that and an easier opponent sway it for me.

    Adding further fuel to the HBA vs Hazard debate lets not forget Stoke are somewhat of a rough tough
    Lets shake them up kind of team, a team that will never shirk a 50/50 tackle so while the argument could be that well this type of team could easily draw fouls and bring Hazard down, I think against teams like Stoke it also increases the risk of injuries to players this is in no way a criticism of them before anyone wants to jump on it it's mearly stating that they tend to go into every tackle with 100% commitment

      Stoke's physical play weighed into my decision to not captain Hazard. They can be tough and, with all the midfield options, I could see him being subbed at some point.

    so i'm not sure whether to play clyne or demel. i've been burnt benching demel a couple times already, but i feel that sunderland will score. however, southampton are letting in goals for fun, so i really don't know. what do you guys think?

      Play Demel. West Ham haven't conceded at home, while Southampton haven't held a single clean sheet. The choice seems obvious.

        not really that obvious. the three cs they kept were against villa, fulham without berbatov, and norwich. not much of a challenge. i'm leaning towards clyne, but the two people who are chasing me have 2+ west ham defenders and will play one for sure. so it would be safe to play demel to cover their pts just in case they get a cs

    Which three defenders would you play out of Baines, Ashley Cole, Santon and Ridgewell? Looking at doing a midfield of Michu, Fellaini, Ben Arfa and Lallana with Torres, Berbatov and Tevez up front, and Kagawa, Chico and the remaining defender on bench.

    Have 2 FT and 0.9m. Who to get rid of?

    Kagawa -> Pienaar
    Coloccini -> Baines
    Krul -> ?
    Fabio -> ?
    (Noble -> ?)

    Need to sell Kagawa to afford Baines, otherwise I'd like to keep him longterm.

    So let me get this right, me picking RVP is captain is a sort of differential choice for this GW!? Seriously? Like I understand why others are appealing and I'm not judging my choice to be smarter or others' to be but I find it really weird that it seems like I'm the odd one out :S It's frickin' awesome too if I'm right about this whole situation!

        Slightly embarrassed I didn't know this since I'm a Utd fan. But it's awesome that it's putting people off because for once RVP is kind of like my dark horse when usually everyone gets his points if he scores big! Yep, RVP is the differential this week. These are the fun game weeks where people are all over the place in terms of captains. I find it refreshing versus everyone captaining the same guy. Good luck with RVP, I had him captain last week which turned out really great.
