Laurent Koscielny steps in for the flu-stricken Thomas Vermaelen to extend Arsenal’s unbeaten run at City, while a tactical switch at half-time earns Andre Villas-Boas his first home win at the Lane. Here’s Part Two of the Stock Check:

On the Up

Laurent Koscielny
Handed a chance in the back-four with Thomas Vermaelen sidelined by flu, the Frenchman returned Arsene Wenger’s faith with a late equaliser earning his side a deserved draw at City. With Vermaelen expected to return to the first XI next weekend, though, Koscielny looks set to vie with Per Mertesacker for the other central defensive berth after an impressive showing.

Santi Cazorla
The playmaker was in the points once again this afternoon, supplying the assist for Koscielny’s equaliser. After starting the season with a couple of blanks, Cazorla is starting to pick up in consistency and has now produced attacking returns in each of his last three games.

Gareth Bale
Initially, it didn’t look good for his Fantasy owners. With Kyle Naughton and Benoit Assou-Ekotto ruled out, the Welshman started at left-back against QPR but was moved to his familiar left wing berth after the break as the hosts trailed 1-0. The switch turned the game in Spurs’ favour – the home side were far more threatening and with Bale providing the assist for Jermain Defoe’s winner, it’s unlikely Andre Villas-Boas will be in a hurry to repeat such an experiment again.

Steven Caulker
Climbing off the bench for his first league minutes this season, he provided the assist for his side’s own goal equaliser. It wasn’t so much the attacking returns that has boosted his appeal, though – the tactical switch that saw Jan Vertonghen move to left-back may convince Villas-Boas to continue with the back-four that ended the game if Kyle Naughton fails to recover in time for next weekend.

Bobby Zamora
While plenty of other names have been mulled over for the third striker slot, the QPR man seems to have slipped under the Fantasy radar of late. Today’s goal at Spurs was his third in four appearances, though, and with (WHM, EVE, RDG) in the next five, he could be a decent differential.

Going Down

The City Defence
Joleon Lescott may have handed his owners plenty points with the opener against the Gunners but City once again disappointed at the back. The 1-1 draw means Roberto Mancini’s side have yet to register a clean sheet this season – the sales looks set to continue, with several mid-price options proving strong value right now.

City Forward Rotation
Mancini freshened up his front two from last week, with the return of Sergio Aguero seeing Carlos Tevez drop to the bench for the first time this season. With Edin Dzeko replacing Mario Balotelli, the City forward line looks set to frustrate plenty Fantasy managers as Mancini has one eye on the Champions League. Already, some are considering selling on Tevez after today’s teamsheet but, having been dropped for today’s match, you’d expect him to return to the first XI for the trip to Fulham.

Gylfi Sigurdsson
The Icelandic international was the man sacrificed in Villas-Boas’ half-time switch in a continuation of his dire start to the Fantasy season. Sigurdsson may have started four matches but the most he’s managed is 71 minutes – Clint Dempsey moved into the role in “the hole” after the break and could well be called upon from the start next week at United, with a move to the bench for Sigurdsson looking a real possibility.

people talking liverpool getting relegated is absolutely stupid! ok.. 2 points from 15 is terrible but brand new manager starting out against city, arsenal and united is harsh. The real test is the norwhich's and stokes over the next few weeks!

I want Liverpool to do well (relatively...). The 2 most successful English clubs by a long way, but hardly ever at the top of their games at the same time, would be great to have a proper tussle with them for the title.

So are people calmer now Pienaar has his assist?

Got hit by a double whammy today, Main rival gets a Defoe goal at around the same time Tevez comes on to cost me Clyne's points.

The question is, Tevez, is he worth keeping or is it time to switch him out. If so for who? Ba? Lambert (though I have Ramirez), Fletcher (though I have Johnson), Lukaku? Defoe?

Keep Hazard till GW8. With 2 FTs I'd resolve a couple of defensive issues and lose Cuellar and/or Gorkks.

        Jesus wept.

        Are you concentrating?

You're on 58 points. The average will be 38 at the most.

You're 65,000th. And you're asking if a total 20 points (plus BPs) higher than the average will make you fall 35,000 places.

        I've changed my mind. It's not a stupid question - it's a really, REALLY, f***ing stupid question.

    Important info guys:

"> After large scale crying over Pienaar's "assist" we decided to give in. One particular user, going by the name of Bemba Da, gto particularly desperate when he threatened to kill a bunny. We also wiped the Vaseline from our eyes and noticed that Chris Brunt does not, in any way, resemble Shane Long and shall be deducted points as a result.

    > We love Foster so we're going to give him more points.

    > We still think Suarez is a horrible little man.

    Kisses."

      ^^This^^

I can see all the Pienaar owners lining up at the end of the season, saying "Thank god we emailed en masse - those three points are the difference between 342,345th and 365,876th"

I'm waiting for Pienaar to get credited with an assist he didn't deserve. I presume the outcry will be similar. You know, justice and everything.

Season defining decison. Do I get rid of RVP now knowing I probably will not be able to afford him back without making significant changes to my team or do I stick with him and leave 13 odd million of my money invested in one player.

I could bring in likes of ba, berbatov, lambert and strengthen the rest of my squad.

I shipped out Tevez and got Ba and captained him to boot. And this with a 4 pt hit. So allow me couple of seconds to be smug.

But my defenders are complete pants. Lescott saved the day but currently I have Lescott/Figueroa/Clark/Hangeland/Tierney.

So who should I ship out and who should I get? I am thinking one of Clark/Figueroa -> McAuley. I should mention I have Howard as my goalie so not hot on doubling up on Everton defence, I also have Pienaar so have covered that left side of Everton.
