Arsenal’s battling performance at the Etithad and a dramatic second-half turnaround at the Lane bring Gameweek 5 to a close. Our members can now let the dust settle on their Fantasy scores before gorging on all the stats from all the weekend’s matches, or just read on for the numbers that piqued our interest…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Re-think on the WC team:

    Foster Begovic
    Baines Ivanovic Clyne STaylor Demel

Not sure about Nolan, given West Ham's [and Nolan's] propensity to only perform at home. Home fixtures in the foreseeable future aren't that great.

do you really expect him to be top of value? a player of 13.5 would have to be scorin two goals a game. the reason that his true-life worth is inflated is because he is a more reliable captain, less likely to disappoint, and more capable of the monster hauls. having said i'm likely selling him next week. captain rollercoaster is a more exhilarating ride

It's going to be a real test of my resolve whether I hang onto Tevez in my WC team. Will lose .2m value. WC might be an easy chance to switch to Aguero but Tevez is a bargain if he scores similar to Aguero all season.

Sunderland have clean sheets in them yes, but i got Mignolet for cover. He`s expected back for next weekend, but hes been somewhat injury prone the last few seasons. I`d rather shell out the extra 0.5 for a goalie that plays regularly, Stoke wont keep many more than 10 CS all season imo.

Possibly, I'm just keen for an alternative to the RVP + Tevez combination which most favour.

Also expect Liverpool to pick up over the next few weeks. They're playing reasonably well, far better than the table suggests, and if they are to score some goals they'll be reliant on Suarez.

Love the Suarez punt myself. I'd likely do the same if i were using my WC.

Gonna opt for Glen Johnson though i think. It would be tough to hand pick three more goal shy teams than: nor, STO & RDG which handily enough are Liverpool's nect three games 🙂

Silva instead of Hazard might be a sneaky suggestion. Picked up an assist today and his underlying stats have being as good as anyones when he is on the pitch. Slight rotation risk, but he has got his rest now and Nasri sounds like he is crocked.

I don't like no Manchester City players given their cake fixtures over the next 7 weeks.
      @ Fulham
      H Sunderland
      @ West Brom
      H Swansea
      @ West Ham
      H Spurs
      H Aston Villa

Other than West Brom and Fulham, those look like goalfests to me. Just my opinion, but I think you need one of Aguero/Tevez and Silva/Yaya wouldn't hurt either. I guess you can get whatever striker you need for Van Persie if I'm proved right...

Fulham, West Brom and West Ham all look like tight away games at the moment, and the two "easy" home games - Sunderland and Swansea - come a few days before/after CL games so rotation will presumably be an issue.

I don't think West Ham will remain particularly tight. They've played Villa, Swansea, Fulham, Norwich and Sunderland. Not exactly murderer's row. Rotation is an issue I suppose but it's every bit as much a problem for Van Persie right? And Van Persie's only "easy" game is Stoke at home and we saw how that went for Hazard captainers this week.

But, as mentioned on the previous page, RVP's fixtures not being overly easy works in his favour in some respects, as it means he's less likely to suffer from rotation.

I didn't read that. I guess that makes sense. I'm holding onto Tevez like grim death and I'm pretty sure my plan is to bring Aguero in as well with my wildcard intact. We'll see what happens when the dust settles.

Yes. BFS is having a midlife crisis. 🙁 I did say, however, that Demel would get more pitch time.

ok lads, i really want to bring in fellaini this week (need to do it for a hit) so do i

    a) bring in demel for one of vertonghen/cole/lescott- if so which one do i drop

    or

    b) bring lambert in for tevez

fellaini will be coming in for kacanicilic by the way

2 free transfers this week and pretty set on getting baines in for Cuellar. To raise the funds i'm thinking either
    A) Hazard to Pienaar (have 7.7 for a mid)
    B) Tevez to Fletcher (would have 7.2 for striker)

    Rest of team is:
    Begovic, Foster,
Gallas, Rangel, Demel, Gunter, Baines (currently Cuellar)
    Hazard, Cazorla, Michu, Nolan, HBA,
    RVP, Tevez, Graham

    Thoughts?

SuperDunny - I presume you've seen the rumours that Steve Kean is about to be sacked. What on earth is going on?! Surely if they wanted him sacked it would have been ages ago? You've started the league reasonably well all considered, seems to get rid of him now.

Also, interesting how you've spent a fair bit of money this summer - presumably Murphy, Nuno Gomes, Etuhu etc. are on decent wages. Where was that money in January when you needed it to stay up?

I have seen the reports that surfaced this evening and i assume it's because of the Boro match in which we were absolutely appalling. The atmosphere at Ewood was so toxic it was heartbreaking to watch. Look's like Mrs Desai has finally lost patience however i've heard similar things before so may just be more rumours.

As for the money being spent, i have ZERO idea why it wasn't spent in January. Nearly every player we've brought in could have helped us out in the Premiership let alone the Champ! Of course a lot of those wouldn't have been available for transfer in Jan but still.... the money was obviously there and we could have tried a bit harder to improve the squad last season

Its almost like when you play 4-2-3-1 in Fifa 12. The striker doesnt get the most goal, the CAM does. Actually applies in real life, who woulda thought 😀 Graham has been really poor for reals, not getting involved at all basically.

Has anyone an idea how I can improve this lot cos I'm at a loss.

£2.2 to spend and 1FT but willing to take a 4 point hit.

Was thinking Zab to Baines before he rises again as every man and his dog have him and he has good fixtures but Man City have a great run ahead and Cole currently has more points than Baines.

I do like to play three strikers but I've been carrying Petric for weeks as he started well but for some reason that I can't understand he seems out of favor and Fergie/Mancini have shafted us all over recent weeks too!

    Foster Federci
    Cole Rangel Zabaleta Clyne Demel
    Michu Yaya Hazard Noble Kacaniklic
    RvP Tevez Petric

    All advice appreciated
