Arsenal’s battling performance at the Etithad and a dramatic second-half turnaround at the Lane bring Gameweek 5 to a close. Our members can now let the dust settle on their Fantasy scores before gorging on all the stats from all the weekend’s matches, or just read on for the numbers that piqued our interest…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Current WC team

    Jaas/Bego
    Baines/Gibbs/McAuley/Davies/Clyne
    Cazorla/HBA/Fellaini/Pienaar/Nolan
    vanPersie/Berba/Ba

I know two everton midfielders is a bit much but I can decide between the two and I was going to get Morrison instead of Pienaar but now he's picked up a knock

Do you think Sagna will play his first match of this season before the international break? Or will return as a fpl prospect only after the international break?

From an FPL perspective, I'd like him to feature as a sub (10 or 20min cameo) before the break, meaning he'll be fully ready after.

Any Pie owners considering getting Fellaini? Would seem a sideways move and there will no doubt be more pressing transfers but is he would seem to be worth £0.6m extra. I have 2 FTs this week and I'm debating Hazard > Bale and/or Tevez > Berbatov but if I decide against one or both transfers, I would have a transfer spare!

I guess we will have to wait and see on Jelly's injury.

Both moves are too risky, imo!

And I won't consider Piennar->Fellaini, too sideways. I could double up on both though.

Even when Jelly returns, Fellaini should still play in the hole. He is tempting and I look at him as a great armband contender for this week. Hence I might get him in, even if it's for a hit.

I was watching the Swansea game, and my word did Fellaini get into some incredible scoring positions. 2 of my main rivals have him in and I've got Pienaar, but purely as a differential. If I had Pienaar I'd stick. He's done incredibly well especially at home, looking at stats from last season and this.

Tevez should start next week and keep Hazard till after the Norwich game. His fixtures aren't so great after. Make a luxury change to your team 🙂

    Alreet lads

I got a bit of constructive (and un-constructive) criticism for my potential WC musings this morning. So i've taken some of those on board, and had another go. How's it looking now?

    Begovic, Jaask
    Baines, Gibbs, Ridgewell, Wilson, Demel
    Bale, Santi, Barfa, Pienaar, Fellaini
    Aguero, Lambert, Berba

I still plan on rotating Berbatov with a southampton mid (or maloney), but by getting Fellaini for SOU, wig, while I decide between Ramirez and Lallana, i have time to come to my senses!

Demel will rarely play, so no worries on double west ham defence. I'll only double stoke for plum home fixtures.

By having an overall strong squad such as this, i means I should be able to afford aguero to be benched a few times. hopefully not too many 1 pointers!

    How's it looking now?

It seems like 99% of people on here are against me rotating berba. But the fact is that I would never have confidence in him to play him in every game. Especially as fulham's away fixtures aren't great.

For the same price of Jelavic + guthrie, playing jelavic in every fixture home and away

I can have berba + ramirez/lallana, with one playing in a nice home fixture every week.

Also by using this strategy, I am bringing an extra option to the table where I can play the away player as well in a nice away fixture, thus increasing the flexibility of my team.

I'm with you on rotating Berba. He's a bit of a hit and miss and FUL ain't great away. In fact, they weren't great away having the likes of Dempsey and Dembele in the team. So I'm with you on that.

See my comments above on berba. Fulham visit ars, stk, che, qpr, liv in the period i am looking at (up to GW20). I don't see him (or fulham in general) getting much from those games.

By getting Fellaini in first for a couple of games, it will give me some time to decide.

Certainly either ramirez or lallana. If I had to decide now, I would say ramirez, based on the scout write up yesterday, but I kind of want to get lallana as I thought he looked great on match of the day a few weeks ago. I would love him to prove himself over the next few.

I'm loving the chance of actually getting round to use the comparison tool.

He is inconsistent because he has been playing deep which will now change imo. Look at the fixtures they have had compared to the next three. Gerrard averaging 4.6pts per game despite fixtures and team form, Silva has 1.8pts per game

I think Silvas underlying stats and last years history show he will improve and brings a level of consistency above any other big midfielder tbh. As a Liverpool fan myself, Suerez/Gerrard do tempt, but id rather take a safer avenue.

4.6 is not amazing value for a 9.5 mid after all.

I'd do it, unlikely that Fellaini or HBA will play midweek given that Everton finally have some depth + Obertan/Marveaux will slot in for Ben Arfa.

Anyone think that the next couple of weeks might be the time to do Tevez > Berbatov? I can see Berba outscoring Tevez.

It would be a shame to have no City attackers given their fixtures but if they are going to share the minutes you just can captain any of them (perhaps even Aguero).

Make sure your squad is strong enough (no more than one 4m defender or bench sitting mid), so that you can cope with tevez or aguero being benched from time to time.

Not yet, surely we all knew he would be rotated though? I got him at the start when Aguero was fit and nothing has changed, he is still first choice and he was Man City's only striker that started vs Madrid, and then he went on to play 90 minutes.

    Vorm / Federici
    Ivanovic / Ridgewell / Cuellar / Demel / Clyne
    Hazard / Cazorla / Michu / Pienaar / Robson- Kanu (don't laugh)
    RVP / Tevez / Ba

    0.0m in the bank

Really don't wanna do a hit but feel Baines is just essential to have and don't want to not be able to afford him in the future. So am thinking:

    Ivanovic & Cuellar > Baines & Nelson for a 4pt hit.

    Morning all

    I'm mulling over the following:

Tevez / Dyer to (a) Berb / Fellaini or (b) Ba / Fellaini
    Or
Verm / Dyer to Gibbs / Fellaini
    Or
Do nothing - Dyer fixtures good for 3 weeks.

    Anyone struggling with similar decisions?

I am struggling with similar decisions.....

Considering Dyer->Felliani (was short by only 0.1 on Saturday 🙁 ), or Dyer->Southampton....

Need to downgrade somewhere but confused where. Hazard/Bale->Caz/Gerrard is a possibility.

So are the moves related to Tevez that you mentioned. I fear Tevez is now suspect to rotation, and Aguero will be a little more nailed on compared to him. But City have great fixtures, so a piece of them is highly essential.

I agree the other possibility is to downgrade Hazard.

I suspect the ballsy approach is to do nothing. Tevez will probably start next week, and can ride Dyer's fixtures. Will be difficult to watch Fellaini go on a rampage however.

Give us a wee hand lads? 🙂

Have one free transfer this week and 2.6m in the kitty. Team is

    Foster, Begovic

    Zabaleta, A.Cole, Figueroa, Cuellar, Gunter

    Michu, Cazorla, Bale, Nolan, Allen

    Ba, Tevez, Podolski

Pretty sure of doing either Cashley or Zaba to Baines this week. Now i'm floating a bit of cash here and if I wanted to be cheeky I could risk a 4 point hit and get Fellaini in for Allen. Reasoning being he will continue to rise in price and has the fixtures.

This makes my midfield a touch expensive, but Nolan looks like a home bird player who scores well at home but not away, so I could bench him and post GW9 I can downgrade Michu to a cheaper mid like Maloney/Sterling to return the balance of the midfield.

    Thoughts?

Yeah it is a worry, but Michu this week away to Stoke is probably safe to bench, and Nolan for some away games judging by all his goals coming at home (can't complain for a 6m mid!). Definitely not a long term strategy as post GW9 Michu fixtures tighten up and id look to downgrade him.
