Better late then never. In truth, there’s nothing comfortable about this one. We had some nightmarish technical issues that had me tearing at my receding hairline tonight but, we got it done. Just.

The route of the problem was a change of scenery, as Granville and I resorted to staying on home territory to record this latest episode. There was a chance it would end in tears; it almost did.

It is, at least, a bumper episode, with just over 45 minutes of myself and Granville grumbling amidst the regulars on Wednesday evening. With his three point lead at the top of our mini-league, the fact is I couldn’t bear to face my Mancunian rival to discuss the merits of an early wildcards versus points hits, lament the demise of Carlos Tevez and chat about Granville’s night attire.

Grab this online experiment here, or stream using the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Well, obviously Guthrie is an issue. What can you afford there? I personally am not high on Michu but don't know that I would get rid of him if I owned him. However, I could se that argument.

I am concerned about Toure as a Yaya owner. His last game was no fun as he was positioned deep as could be. I might look to move him for some one else but, again, there is no urgency there.

If I were you, I would probably do the Berb move and hang on.

Nice, but I can see a benching problem most weeks. You need a exp striker me thinks to enable you to swap say between rvp/rooney/kun as and when they go "crazy for banana".

      And they will.

        i'm fine with that.

if i need an expensive forward i can easily do bale/caz to guthrie and then get one in.
i've gone without an expensive forward on purpose. a) to avoid the rotation nightmare that the rest of you will be facing b) to create a very strong and balanced team

For interest sake who are you rotating with Lambert from that front 8? Just look at gw 7....I gotta play Lambert, Berba and well Ba at home to ManU missing Vidic.

Pienaar, Santi, Bale all need to play.

It just doesn't work for me.

I don't think rotating forwards pays off. Just look at Lambert's goals this season as an example.

I'd always aim to have a bench player who I can rely on for 2 points in case of an emergency. Also saves headaches!

trust me he and i have had chatted several times this week. he was the one that got me to think about this strategy!

you see his problem is he's going for suarez over ba (funny right?) if he got ba like i did he'd have enough for the backline and a bit more. last time we talked though it looked like he was going to sacrifice foster and get jaask instead

No wonder they're so similar then 😀

I actually like his idea of getting Suarez and then after 3 weeks of assessing which toon striker to get, swapping them. I think HBA and Ba is a bit of overkill for a team that aren't exactly on fire. Yeah, I'd have Foster over jussi if possible.

yeah its not a bad idea. its just that i don't rate suarez too well and i dont wanna have to waste a transfer on him later. plus triple newcastle should be nice this week! yeah same but if he needs .5 jaask instead of foster is the best and most logical way to do it

Because he was not nearly as involved last game. His percentage of team last half touches dropped considerably, mainly because he, Oscar and Mata were occupying the same area. No one played wide and Stoke easily shut down their attack.

Such a dilemma this weekend. I'm trying so hard to hold on to Tevez since I've made good value on him but I'm afraid of a 1 pointer from him...

I have enough for Tevez > Kun...but Morrison i'm unsure of and dont want to play Guthrie. I would also like to go Tevez > Lambert and Guthrie > Bale after this GW....bleh.

Go with Kun or save and stick to plan and risk having to play Guthie and a 1pter from Tevez?

That's what I'm thinking. Citeh has 0/5 CS so far. Their def is very similar to last season so no reason why they can't tighten up at the back. Mankini is talking about it being a problem so I'm sure they will look to be tighter.

Over the next 5 there will surely be CS? 0/10 can't be on?

Dont get me wrong, I'm one of the biggest fans of Baines....but defenders are there for CS, not for offense. Baines and Everton are hot right now, yes...but there's absolutely no doubt that Kompany and City are the better squad and will return more CS. Not to mention Kompany has a great goal threat from corners...

As we discussed 2 weeks ago, I think Baines might have a 150+ season again. I'm looking at him as a milf, on setpieces with the added bonus of CS thrown in.

I'm not so sure about that one. I could see baines scoring 4-5 this year with 8 assists? Do you think Baines will top 10 CS with Everton?

Kompany has the potential to score 5-8 and 15+ CS.....

Both are absolutely nailed on for 90 mins or close to it all season barring injury. I think it's close 🙂

Well, Baines will score more goals than Kompany, he'll get more assists than Kompany, and Everton are always good for about 10 CSs a season.

I think Baines will easily win, I don't see why you consider Kompany that much more of a goal threat, when Baines plays further forward and has set-pieces/penalties. Everton kept 12 clean sheets last season, and they were pretty shite for the first 5 months of the season. Baines is creating more chances than anyone and he looks a massive attacking threat, I can see plenty of attacking returns from him while he has Jelavic/Fellaini to aim at and Pienaar to link up with. And the best thing about him is Everton always play well against the top teams meaning you can keep him through the tough fixtures too.

Baines on 37pts and BK on 8. That's why I'm thinking the upside is massive with BK. While the uncertainty is there at Citeh up front I'm thinking next week is the time to get into Citeh defence and save the money from selling Tevez to beef up elsehwere.

If baines plays 30 of the remaining 33 games and gets another 3 assists/3 goals/10 boners/7 CS he will be on +/- 160pts, All that is very very possible me thinks.

I doubt kompany will score 5 goals in the next 33 fixtures, but I wouldn't mind being wrong!

If anything you are underestimating for Baines, he already has 2 CS, 2 assists, a goal and 9 boners in 5 games. Obviously hard for him to keep that up though 🙂

No city coverage: I fear rotation and have abandoned all three of my previous city players

Suso: differential and I guess my judgement is pretty clouded YNWA haha. But then again he's got great vision and I'm expecting an assist from him this weekend

Suarez: I do want him, but I predicted his price to drop further so I'm going to wait til the next gameweek before swapping suso for him

I've come to regret that now. It was an early transfer based on that Aguero played 90m the previous game so I thought Tevez would start now, but seeing Tevez played 120 I know I'm wrong. If I swap aguero back again that would cost me 4 points 🙁

I like it. Although I like Lambert more personally....depends on the rest of your team. I was quietly thinking about him next week, but I'd rather go Lambert and Bale. Mid is a bit stacked and cramped this year...

          I prefer Berba's south/VILLA/read/EVE over Lambert's eve/FUL/west/SPURS/wba for weeks 7-10.

Also Rvp/Kun is a certain up front and if Ba keeps going then he and Berba are as well. Might just opt for Lalaland or Ramirez in milf then for gw 11-->

Hazard was never a season keeper for me.

Tevez waaay too much of a rotation risk. 4 strikers at MCI all of pretty much equal ability. No thanks.

    Mignolet

    Baines Rafael Taylor

    Santi Hazard Benarfa Pienaar

    Lukaku Fletcher Berbatov

    Foster, Michu, Cuellar, Demel 2.9m

Rare for me to be happy with my team so early but quite comfortable with this. Possible trannys ahead Barfa->Bale next gw, then might look to downgrade hazard and get RVP. Not sure though

Good team but I wouldn't go with Lukaka just yet , I'd not denying he's a beast but I'd adopt the policy of wait and see a while , I would like either Rvp or Aguero if I was wc , but good luck none the less.

What do you suggest with ba/Rvp/tevez up front? Keep tevez and switch Ba to Berba next week and get Hba in later for newc attacking cover?

Going to be difficult if Ba does well this week and tevez gets rotated.
