Spurs win at Old Trafford for the first time since 1989 as Andre Villas-Boas’ side triumph in the game of the season so far. Gareth Bale is the main protagonist for the Londoners, as United’s defensive frailties are exposed yet again:

Going Up

Gareth Bale
In a Gameweek where many of the popular midfield picks failed to produce the goods, the Welshman continued his return to form with a goal and pair of assists at Old Trafford. With a home clash against Villa up next, Bale can expect to pick up plenty of interest over the next few days.

Jan Vertonghen
Having found his eye for goal in the midweek Capital One Cup win at Carlisle, Vertonghen notched his first league goal of the campaign as Andre Villas-Boas’ side won for the third Gameweek in a row. With (AVL, sot, WIG) amongst his next four fixtures, the potential for point looks good for the Belgian at both ends of the pitch.

Clint Dempsey
Picked ahead of Gylfi Sigurdsson for the role in “the hole”, the US international vindicated his manager’s decision with his first goal of the season. Dempsey – who has a mere 2% ownership in FPL – could be a real differential pick over the next few games, with a starting berth in the Spurs XI now seemingly assured.

Wayne Rooney
Sent on for Ryan Giggs after the break, Rooney was forced to take up a wider position, with Shinji Kagawa keeping the role behind Robin Van Persie. He made an immediate impact, setting up Nani for United’s first, and with a free-kick hitting the woodwork, he’s offering a real alternative to the Dutchman up top as we look to freshen up our Fantasy squads.

Going Down

United Defence
Once again, the Red Devils failed to keep out their opponents at the back. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have conceded in all but one of their six fixtures so far – with trips to Newcastle and Chelsea in the next four, in addition to a home clash against Arsenal, sales of their defenders look likely to pick up.

Robin Van Persie
Normally, an assist isn’t too bad for a day’s work. The Dutchman has still managed to produce attacking returns in all of his starts this term but with the likes of Nikica Jelavic, Luis Suarez and Demba Ba all racking up the goals earlier today, and with Rooney now back for United, many may be tempted to look for alternatives to the 13.5 priced Dutchman.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

What kind of hit would you want to be taking in order to justify a wildcard? Anything above 8?

Tevez, Yaya, Hazard could all be shown the door for better alternatives..

I have taken 12 but it was a different situation as I would have only been able to field 9 players without it. I think on a normal week 8 is max

        Hmm, can't agree with Karmanya..

Fletcher is scoring a goal from a chance, there's no way that's going to continue.
Lambert is playing for a Southampton side who are terrible and aren't likely to get more than 1 a game.
Defoe isn't a bad shout as Spurs have winnable matches in next 4

Jelavic however is forming the point of a very attacking Everton team who are bang in form and have service from both flanks and central midfield plus some very winnable fixtures ahead. Why 'no'?

Yes. For every .2 he rises, you get .1 back. So if he falls he will have risen net .5 and you get half that, rounded down.

Team for the next GW… Should I count this GW as a one off and stick with it or is it wildcard time?

    Foster (Begovic)
    Cole Baines Hughes (Demel) (Cuellar)
Bale (c) Nolan Pienaar Michu (Guthrie)
    RVP Tevez Podolski

    0.0 in the bank, 1FT

    Any opinions would be great!

Pod isn't worth it when you have nailed on guys like berba, ba and now ratface freely scoring imo. Pod always comes off.

      Foster – (Federici),
      Baines – Demel – McAuley - (Clyne - Cuellar),
      Hazard – Yaya – Michu – Pienaar – Guthrie,
      RVP – Tevez – (Berba). (£0.1m bank)

1 free transfer. What should I do? Wildcard? Or wait one more week?

I'd maybe ship out Tevez for one of Ba/Fletcher/Suarez/Defoe/Jelly (or Berba for Lambert).

Other than that I don't see there's much cause to panic and def not a wildcard:
2 Everton players ahead of a fixture they should win
Hazard up against a woeful looking Norwich
Michu at home to a very average Reading
        Foster looks good for points
        RVP will likely come good
Yaya gives City coverage in a winnable home match, etc

If you still feel bad wildcard over the international break with more option to take advantage of player fluctuations.

          Bale
          Mata
          Aguero
          Suarez

Seem to be the way forward this week

Bale for sure. Mata for this week against Norwich, sure. I'm less sure of Aguero/Suarez because of rotation worries for Aguero and Stoke being quite tough for Suarez. Look how well Stoke played at Stamford Bridge last week...

              Totally agree with Scoutcast.
              Bale's looking an essential.
Mata does appear to be coming back into form (although the creative options in the Chelsea mid and rotation possibility make it tricky) and Chelsea cover for Norwich at home looks essential.
Aguero - for 1 goal in an average performance? Bit early to say that.
Suarez - let's see if he can hit the onion bag rather than the post against anyone other than Norwich before we get too excited eh!

if you want 4 for a way forward I'd say it looks more like:
              Bale
              Jelavic
              Ba
              Torres
