Javier Hernandez is the hero for United after climbing off the bench to turn the game around at Villa Park. The Mexican’s double and assist earned the visitors a stunning 3-2 victory, while Andreas Weimann also bagged a brace for the beaten hosts:

On the Up

Javier Hernandez
Sent on as a sub after half-time, his introduction proved the difference for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. Hernandez produced two goals and assist as United came from two down – Ron Vlaar was credited with an own goal for the second, after the Mexican’s strike was deemed to be off target before a deflection helped it into the Villa net.

Andreas Weimann
A peripheral figure in the Villa set-up of late, the Austrian was handed his first start since Gameweek 4 this evening. Weimann notched both Villa’s goals and has surely staked a claim for a regular role, bearing in mind that the hosts had previously scored more than a single goal just once in their opening 10 matches.

Christian Benteke
Having supplied attacking returns in each of his previous two, the Belgian maintained his strong recent form with an assist for Weimann’s opener. The skill and strength displayed in bettering Chris Smalling and composure to set up the Austrian, allied with his current form, has more than vindicated Paul Lambert’s decision to start Benteke over Darren Bent.

Going Down

United Defence
Once again, United’s backline failed to keep out their opponents. Villa had scored just twice in their four league matches prior to this evening but Weimann’s strike just before the break means United have now trailed in seven of their 11 league matches – as this evening’s game showed, grinding out results is simply not an option for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

Ashley Young
He’d played 90 minutes in the previous wins over Chelsea and Arsenal but an insipid first-half display against his former club saw the winger subbed off for Hernandez at the break. With a single assist to his name this term, Young is showing little to suggest he deserves a regular role for the league leaders.

That's a tough one. Bale has form against anyone. Caz at the moment doesn't seem to score at home for some reason.

Nolan has tough fix whereas Pienaar does not. Nolan has a much higher ppg than Pie and WHM seem to be competitive. Keep Nolan..

So, taking this debate of supporting your local club further, it is absolutely nonsensical to suggest one should support only their local club only. Local football isn't big here in India and i personally started watching football only since i starting watching the premiership in 1998. I am an Indian and i support Manchester United, Germany, Djokovic, Jenson Button, Mohun Bagan, and obviously the Indian team in any sport.

Sport is beyond boundaries. Its a feeling, and the need to explain that on a fantasy football forum to people who don't get it is just frustrating. I felt the need to vent. I get offended when you question my love for a team, despite that club being miles away. I am sorry, you are in no position to judge.

      Vent over.

I think the making of a fan is whether you can stick it out during the lows as well as the highs. People often would say I'm a glory hog for supporting United or Barcelona. I have supported them for years and years. One of my other teams, Borussia Dortmund, has had a lot more exposure over recent seasons. Naturally I'll be accused of being a glory hunter because I support them too. My other Spanish team is Bilbao because I've always had a bit of soft spot for them. Still do even though they've been very up and down the past while.

          I totally resent your rant.

The essence of football is taking the piss out of supporters of rival teams. I support Chelsea and I'm from London. I don't like Man Utd, and doubly so because every MU supporter I know has no connection with Manchester. I shall continue to laugh at this.

Looking at my stats charts for defenders...

McAuley is head and shoulders above the rest for goal threat, whilst Baines is for Creativity.

Cant help thinking they will score a similarly, but the former offers better value.
Indeed the current scoring of 54 vs 47 backs this up.

When one factors in that the fixtures are about to drop off for Baines perhaps it is time to get rid?

Brought Fellaini in for Cazorla finally succumbed to the pressure, have 1 free transfer left any suggestions? Other option I could possibly do is Sterling-Walcott, Jelly-Berbs and Jaask-Tremmel and play Bego pretty much up to Jan Wildcard, however this would be an 8 point hit and leave a selection headache who to bench out of my front 8 each week, although it would be a nice dillema to have

          Jaask/Bego
          Baines/Hughes/Davies/Gorkss/Wilkinson
          Mata/Bale/Michu/Sterling/Fellaiini
          Rvp/Ba/Jelly

          Thanks in advance

          1. Pienaar>Nolan Michu>Fellaini -4pt
          2. Foster>Ruddy Pienaar>Fellani -4pt
          3. Pienaar>Fellaini Bale>Silva Sagna>Mert or any defender below 5.1 for -8pt hit I can only do this now....

          Schwarzer, Beg
          Baines, Demel, Cuellar, Cameron, Simpson
          Pienaar, Bale, Mata, Nolan, Sterling
          RVP, Ba, Fletcher

          Two frees.

          Was thinking:
          a) Pienaar > Fellani
          b) Fletcher > Berbatov

          Make both transfers tonight?

Won't be able to afford Fellani if i make transfer tommorow.

should have listened to my gut and put the C on Fellaini. instead it was the RVP bandwagon on here all week.

Got 1 free transfer, how should i use it?

          A) Michu > Fellaini

          B) Crouch > Berbatov

          C) Do both for a hit

          D) Do nothing

Don't panic. The season is so long. Surely u can't get all the players from now on. Some red arrows will be present for sure. The odds are against u IMO. Just enjoy while it is lasting. Having a great season enjoy in your rank.

Congra from me and keep up. P>S. No Fellaini this week was ballsy. If I am in that position I would go with all obvious players. Copy paste fantasy manager 😉

Held off last week in the hope that Fellaini would have a quiet one but no such luck
Have 1FT and 1.3 bank having already used a freebie to free up some cash

Is Pienaar + 0.5 to Fellaini the prudent move going forward?
