Javier Hernandez is the hero for United after climbing off the bench to turn the game around at Villa Park. The Mexican’s double and assist earned the visitors a stunning 3-2 victory, while Andreas Weimann also bagged a brace for the beaten hosts:

On the Up

Javier Hernandez
Sent on as a sub after half-time, his introduction proved the difference for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. Hernandez produced two goals and assist as United came from two down – Ron Vlaar was credited with an own goal for the second, after the Mexican’s strike was deemed to be off target before a deflection helped it into the Villa net.

Andreas Weimann
A peripheral figure in the Villa set-up of late, the Austrian was handed his first start since Gameweek 4 this evening. Weimann notched both Villa’s goals and has surely staked a claim for a regular role, bearing in mind that the hosts had previously scored more than a single goal just once in their opening 10 matches.

Christian Benteke
Having supplied attacking returns in each of his previous two, the Belgian maintained his strong recent form with an assist for Weimann’s opener. The skill and strength displayed in bettering Chris Smalling and composure to set up the Austrian, allied with his current form, has more than vindicated Paul Lambert’s decision to start Benteke over Darren Bent.

Going Down

United Defence
Once again, United’s backline failed to keep out their opponents. Villa had scored just twice in their four league matches prior to this evening but Weimann’s strike just before the break means United have now trailed in seven of their 11 league matches – as this evening’s game showed, grinding out results is simply not an option for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

Ashley Young
He’d played 90 minutes in the previous wins over Chelsea and Arsenal but an insipid first-half display against his former club saw the winger subbed off for Hernandez at the break. With a single assist to his name this term, Young is showing little to suggest he deserves a regular role for the league leaders.

        No he's not.

Santi has 3 goals and 3 assists already, plus on corners.

Modric can't score to save his life.

If you look at points wise, Baines = McAuley + 30pts, whilst a Sterling/Crouch combo probably gets close to Cazorla, and offers more finanical gain.

Right guys advice is much needed because I want to make a hit!!!
    Here's the team

    Bego , jussi

    Rafa , hange , ridge . Clyne , McCartney

    Mata , Michu , cazorla , Pienaar , Maloney

    RVP , Ba , jelavic

Fellaini is becoming too tempting too resist. If I downgrade Caz for him, I'll have a midfield of:

    Mata Fellaini Michu Bale

But if Fellaini and Michu both get yellows next weekend, I'm screwed.

    I'll just hold.

RVP, simply put, is not worth the money. Nothing more than a single goal or assist every match. On two occasions a goal and assist and on one occasion he had the hat-trick. Berbatov will do all of that for half the price!

It's the consistent source of points over the season thats the attraction. Playing for the most attacking team in the prem who seem to score 2+ goals per game, is likely to see van the man score or assist most games with some explosive points thrown in too.

Just a general comment, but some people need to slow down and calm down. And step back.

I have Caz. I have Bale. I have Pienaar over Fellaini. Lots of options to ponder.

But, I certainly wont be deciding them based on a 0.1m rise tonight as I have no idea what will happen tomorrow. Or next week in training. Or someone getting hit by a bus.

    Patience young grasshoppers. Patience.

I had the exact money last GW to do Pienaar to Fellaini but I don't like a 0.0m bank as there's no wiggle room. I'm still holding holding firm, and losing points, but it's not about one player.

Wow, looks like I'm going out of the paddy power cup despite having an above average week.

Look at my opponents Frontline...talk about running into the wrong guy!!

I need Ba to score loads or it's all over.

Feel the need to continue the 'MU fans not from Manchester' debate.

First of all to be clear, this is not personal. However MU has a disproportionate number of fans who are not from Manchester and support them because they have good marketing. This is similar to someone from Africa who prefers Pepsi to Coke - its a result of marketing. That is so not the same as being from Manchester and supporting your local team.
