Javier Hernandez is the hero for United after climbing off the bench to turn the game around at Villa Park. The Mexican’s double and assist earned the visitors a stunning 3-2 victory, while Andreas Weimann also bagged a brace for the beaten hosts:

On the Up

Javier Hernandez
Sent on as a sub after half-time, his introduction proved the difference for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. Hernandez produced two goals and assist as United came from two down – Ron Vlaar was credited with an own goal for the second, after the Mexican’s strike was deemed to be off target before a deflection helped it into the Villa net.

Andreas Weimann
A peripheral figure in the Villa set-up of late, the Austrian was handed his first start since Gameweek 4 this evening. Weimann notched both Villa’s goals and has surely staked a claim for a regular role, bearing in mind that the hosts had previously scored more than a single goal just once in their opening 10 matches.

Christian Benteke
Having supplied attacking returns in each of his previous two, the Belgian maintained his strong recent form with an assist for Weimann’s opener. The skill and strength displayed in bettering Chris Smalling and composure to set up the Austrian, allied with his current form, has more than vindicated Paul Lambert’s decision to start Benteke over Darren Bent.

Going Down

United Defence
Once again, United’s backline failed to keep out their opponents. Villa had scored just twice in their four league matches prior to this evening but Weimann’s strike just before the break means United have now trailed in seven of their 11 league matches – as this evening’s game showed, grinding out results is simply not an option for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

Ashley Young
He’d played 90 minutes in the previous wins over Chelsea and Arsenal but an insipid first-half display against his former club saw the winger subbed off for Hernandez at the break. With a single assist to his name this term, Young is showing little to suggest he deserves a regular role for the league leaders.

This may have been said already but doesn't corzola have a touch of the modric about him?

Amazing world class player but so much fantacy fail its not even funny.
He's gonna be the guy who assists the assister?

I'll simply paste my comment from above...

Cazorla. From what I have seen, he is a good player but he tends to look to keep the ball moving quickly in possession with simple fast sideways passes rather than look for something more risky to create himself.

I've had enough. Arsenal score 9 goals in two home games and he gets a grand total of a miss kick assist. Was also deeper today than he has been at home all season. Think Wenger it tweaking the system for Giroud at his expense

His positioning is Modric-ish which isn't great for a player so expensive. But he's a million times as creative with through balls/crosses. And he's still Arsenal's joint top scorer in the league so he can score. But it's a concern that he isn't explosive enough and I might sell for Walcott/Silva.

Why Walcott has been sat on the bench for so long is beyond me. I think he's class. Super dangerous and if I remember correctly end of last season was ff gold.

        Definitly on my watch list.

Yeah, he's far too good to ignore. The injury may delay me jumping on the bandwagon though. He's on corners and free kicks too...he was basically ruining Cazorla's buzz the whole time today. And as you say, his stats last year were amazing and he can only get better. Every time he plays he's getting goals/asssists and in abundance.

I personally would compare him more to Silva than Modric. The difference? Tevez and Aguero can finish off the chances Giroud and the rest can't. Still a better option than almost every midfielder however.

+1 He is way more creative than Modric imo. He could play in a different role further up the pitch if he wanted to. The problem for me is Walcott...who is cheaper and probably more explosive and stealing set pieces off him.

He doesn't get that many chances. Swansea play a patient possession game. All his goals have been of an opportunistic nature and sometimes out of nothing. He gets few touches in games and even fewer now he is up front. He is also playing up top on his own which can be difficult on away games. Nothing much has changed in my opinion. He will still score goals...

    Michu to Fellaini tonight?

Fellaini has a game midweek and I may have Walcott injured...

Alright guys, thinking of getting rid of baines (overpriced imo) and pienaar in 2 GWs time.

Suggestions of replacements? (i already have rafael so no baines > rafael, but this gives me more money to spend on a midfielder)

    Team is linked

well Piennar to Fellaini is all the rage, as for a replacement for Baines, I'm not sure. Perhaps someone like Cameron or Ridgewelll and use the cash elsewhere
