Javier Hernandez is the hero for United after climbing off the bench to turn the game around at Villa Park. The Mexican’s double and assist earned the visitors a stunning 3-2 victory, while Andreas Weimann also bagged a brace for the beaten hosts:

On the Up

Javier Hernandez
Sent on as a sub after half-time, his introduction proved the difference for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. Hernandez produced two goals and assist as United came from two down – Ron Vlaar was credited with an own goal for the second, after the Mexican’s strike was deemed to be off target before a deflection helped it into the Villa net.

Andreas Weimann
A peripheral figure in the Villa set-up of late, the Austrian was handed his first start since Gameweek 4 this evening. Weimann notched both Villa’s goals and has surely staked a claim for a regular role, bearing in mind that the hosts had previously scored more than a single goal just once in their opening 10 matches.

Christian Benteke
Having supplied attacking returns in each of his previous two, the Belgian maintained his strong recent form with an assist for Weimann’s opener. The skill and strength displayed in bettering Chris Smalling and composure to set up the Austrian, allied with his current form, has more than vindicated Paul Lambert’s decision to start Benteke over Darren Bent.

Going Down

United Defence
Once again, United’s backline failed to keep out their opponents. Villa had scored just twice in their four league matches prior to this evening but Weimann’s strike just before the break means United have now trailed in seven of their 11 league matches – as this evening’s game showed, grinding out results is simply not an option for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

Ashley Young
He’d played 90 minutes in the previous wins over Chelsea and Arsenal but an insipid first-half display against his former club saw the winger subbed off for Hernandez at the break. With a single assist to his name this term, Young is showing little to suggest he deserves a regular role for the league leaders.

leave this as it is man, Cazorla will come good again...if you stay patient with good players and don't knee jerk/take hits then your rank will come good...i made a knee jerk last week and saw my second ever red arrow...now I've stayed patient and riding the green arrow again.

Bottom line, you have a great team, so stick

    Bets of the day-

Liverpool to lead at half time and fail to win @ 8/1

      City 2 - 2 Spurs
      Newcastle 2 - 1 West Ham
      Chelsea 2 - 2 Liverpool

Potentially about 17k richer at the end of the day... It could happen?!

At the end of the day. Berbatove and Tevez will score same amount of points. And Berbatove price should be the same as Tevez. Tevez is in a better team. But Fulam attacking is really good. Bryan is class and play well with Berba. Even if Tevez score today. I may still be doing the Berba move, I think. 🙂

Does anyone else on here suffer from 'Game Morning Tinkerman Tilt' - i.e. being swayed from decisions made earlier that week on the morning of the game.

In the last 4 weeks I have done the following on the morning of the match, usually the last hour:
    > GW8: Changed my wildcard team to oust RVP, Mata, Fellaini and in favour of Cazorla, Bale, Pienaar and Jelavic - the week when Mata had a monster and RVP close behind - Cazorla on a customary 2 pointer. (lost c.30-46 depending on where C would have gone plus a further 8pts and c.0.6M of lost player increase cash to restore Mata and RVP for week 9)
    > GW9: Switched captaincy from RVP to Bale (just a 2 point loss, so not so bad)
    > GW10: Switched captaincy from RVP to Bale (6 point loss)
    > GW11: Switched captain from Fellaini to RVP (likely c.10 point loss)

Assuming I'd kept my computer locked down on Saturday morning then I could be 48-64 points better off (e.g. an average game week score!) and have more cash.

Suffice to say I've resolved not to make any more matchday changes...let's see how I keep to that!
    Any other Tinkerman horror stories?

Yeah. Yesterday is was all set fo bring in RVP and to do it I needed to lose Suarez and Stevie G as well, 8 point hit in total. So. Gerrard, Suarez. &. Berba. For. RVP. Kone and. Maloney. So far berbatovs points cover what returns I would have made from those 3 . So anything Suarez and Gerrard get today added to the 8 point transfer saved is all profit so to speak, Also liverpool at home to Wigan next week, The message being sometimes it deff doesnt pay to tinker too much

Ah crap, drunken kneejerk last night.

Did a double transfer(no hit) last week and it worked out really well ... Ridge and Pie for Cameron and Fellaini.

At some point this translated into overconfidence and taking a hit for a defender on a sat night.

Nonetheless, I'm overjoyed to have Davies out of my team. Got him when he became nailed on and between his own good fixtures and injuries to Ceullar, Ridgewell and Demel, he's started in my team for the last six weeks, for a grand total of ...... 9 points!
