Members can now access the OPTA performance statistics from all of today’s games via the Members Area and the new Gameweek filters. Simply use the “GW” dropdown menu to select “Current Gameweek” and use the “Switch” button to filter the stats for Gameweek 23.

A quick glance confirms strong performances from the Chelsea midfield who clearly dominated possession in their 2-0 win over Blackburn. Ramires certainly had one of his best games in a blue shirt statistically, while Florent Malouda could well be amongst the Fantasy Premier League Bonus given his stats on show under “Distribution & Influence”. Other standout performers in midfield include the unlikely pairing of Jerome Thomas and Rory Delap – no really.

Amongst the strikers, Carlos Tevez will simply walk the maximum Bonus points given his two goals and influence stats, while Dzeko’s numbers also look encouraging. The stats also suggest that Didier Drogba could sneak some Bonus Points, despite failing to notch in the win over Blackburn. Elsewhere, Wigan’s Hugo Rodallega looks nailed on for some extra returns, although Antolin Alcaraz appears to have been the outstanding defender on show today and will be a strong rival for the maximum in that game.

Members can check all these performances in detail, with the West Ham vs Arsenal statistics to follow after the whistle at Upton Park.

A reminder that those without Membership can now gain access to the OPTA stats and all the other Members features for just £10 for the rest of the season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Also, interesting watching that game with a view to buying Fabregas... I'm not being funny or anything, but he wasn't even close to getting any attacking points today.

The Fabregas of 2009/2010 was definitely a better prospect IMO, not that he's a bad one this year. With Wilshere and Song getting much further forward than the two 'holding' players did last year, Cesc spends a lot of time a long way away from goal.

RVP's points per start with probably be second to none if he gets a run of games, just the threat of rotation worries the hell out of me! If you have a solid bench then he could definitely be worth it at just 9.6 or whatever he is now...

Never mind, u can't go without him in GW 27, so this debate is after GW 27.

+1 on the comment that he was going deep to receive the ball several times. He was more attacking last year.

I was more minded by the fact RVP and others were in my team at 2am last night and i backed out of it stupidly cos of Chelsea - Blackburn.

-1 on fabs, thought he made quite a few good attacking runs/passes.

+1 on Rvp, i'd be very worried about the chamakh and Bendtner (lols) effect on his minutes. He seems to be hitting top form now though. Cue ankle injury next match!

Yeah people here often assume that the PL games are always the priority or the bigger games.

I still think RVP will be used sparingly.

The want silverware this year so don't be surprised if they put out the big guns in domestic cup games.

I think they'll be confident in fielding Chamakh and Arsh over RVP and Walcott for some of their easier league fixtures

Whats funny is that you didn't say the same thing in the last couple of games when RVP was anonymous and Fabregas started to look like the player of 2009/2010..

i'm finding all the comments here incredibly shortsighted.. i honestly thought better of some people

A font directly related to the amount of sense that you post would be good. Some would have 2pt some 36pt towering over them. Nice.

To be fair today was the first time all season that RVP has looked close to his best. When's he been anonymous out of interest? Despite not playing particularly he still could have had big scores vs Birmingham and City - the only two other times where he's played 90 minutes.

          anonymous from a point perspective..

Whilst i rate RVP highly and would have him in my team in a shot if he was set to play every game.. i find it utterly bizarre that people are questioning Fabregas after a no show today.

I hope it does make people doubt bringing him in.. more fool them

I'll still buy him, and I still consider him to be a good option, just not quite as good as last year.

He'll murder the bonus points though... He probably touched the ball more times in his 75 minutes than any other player this week.

The last 4 PL games both Fabregas and RVP have started, Fabs has scored 14, 9, 3, 3. Hardly terrible.

He'll have games where he scores big and he'll have games where he doesn't. Today he didn't score big, but he could well have a stormer next time out.

RVP did look very good today (although the rotation with Chamakh will be an issue at some point), but since he's come back from injury (and started, i.e. the last four games he's played) where Fabs, RVP & Nasri have all started they've scored:
      Fabs: 29
      Nasri: 16
      RVP: 23

Fabregas won't stay quiet for long would be my guess.

still keeping cesc, then doubling up by getting rvp for gw 27. people swear fabs didn't do anything or worth keeping just because he doesn't score or assist one game and rvp scores for the first time in ages against the last place team in the league. w/walcott a rotation risk and fabs the better of wilshere/nasri i'd still say he'll be the more consistent for the rest of the season for them. he just had 14 vs. chelsea and 9 vs. brum ffs.

The problem with Fabs is that whenever a lot of us captain him he does naff all.

When we don't captain him, because it looks like a tough match up or other players of ours appear to have better matchups, he goes and has a big score.

      Very vexing.

    Lads please(sorry for the repeat),

Lads two free transfers and about to confirm Konchesky out Coleman in. If I don’t do it I will miss .2 and I need them, my plan is tight.

Should I do it, or you can give me better double game week defender?
I have scouted and I couldn’t find better alternative. Already I have Fulham, Man utd, Liv defensive cover. Only other option is Alcaraz, but never mind the doubles, Coleman is playing against W ham and Alcaraz will negate his double when he will score 1 pts against Ars.

    Cheers,
