An action-packed first-half produced seven goals but United’s decision to shut up shop after the break means the net failed to bulge in the second 45. Reading’s cut-price assets make a persuasive case ahead of the double Gameweek, while Wayne Rooney bags a brace as the visitors move three points clear of City at the top:

On the Up

Wayne Rooney
Amongst the goals for the first time since Gameweek 8, Rooney produced his third double figure return in nine starts in this evening’s incredible match at the Madejski. Clearly, he’s still head of Robin Van Persie as United’s first-choice spot-kick taker and priced 2.0 less than the Dutchman, looks a real differential with an ownership of less than 7%.

Jonny Evans
The Irishman earned an assist for United’s converted spot-kick and maintained his recent steady form. Evans has now produced a goal, an assist, a clean sheet and three bonus points in the last three (an average of seven points per game), though with Nemanja Vidic possible returning in the midweek Champions League match with Cluj, would-be investors will be wary.

Adam Le Fondre
While Pavel Pogrebnyak continues to remain a peripheral figure for Brian McDermott’s side, Le Fondre’s eye for goal is clearly crucial to Reading’s attacking forays. His header from a Nicky Shorey corner took the score to 2-2 against United and was his third strike in four games – at 4.8, he served a timely reminder of his cut-price potential ahead of double Gameweek 16.

Nicky Shorey
He’s created chances aplenty for Reading over the last few matches and his corner kick duties highlighted the left-back’s cut-price appeal. A pair of assists against United will earn the 4.1 priced defender plenty new owners over the next few days ahead of the Royals’ double.

Hal Robson-Kanu
The winger earned a fourth consecutive start on the Royals’ right flank and shifted onto Fantasy radars by firing home the opener against United. With an assist also to his name over the last four, Robson-Kanu certainly looks likely to keep his place ahead of next week’s trips to Southampton and Sunderland.

Going Down

Rafael
Tormented on the flank by Jobi McAnuff, he picked up a booking and seemed unable to cope with the Royals winger. Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to sub him off after just 30 minutes will be a real worry for the Brazilian’s owners.

United Defence
Conceding for the first time in a match once again, Sir Alex Ferguson’s backline continued their dire defensive form. The midweek clean sheet against West Ham seems almost an anomaly – United have now shipped 12 goals on the road, just one less than Reading and, as Evans showed today, their defenders are relying on attacking returns to justify any sort of investment.

I need to join Fellaini bandwagon. What's best transfer to get him?

    Begovic / Foster
Rafael / Jose Enrique / Nelsen / Cuellar / Demel
    Nolan / Mata / Puncheon / Bale / Sessegnon
Suarez / Fletcher / Van Persie

1 FT, £1.8m in the bank.

    fellaini michu mata bale sterling

    1FT 1.7m

SO i want to keep Mata, comfortable benching Bale until he gets better and even if I wanted him out im sticking with tevez over silva, and i want to wait for Arsenal to get sorted. So upgrade wilson or gorkss or maybe gallas? suggestions?

So, Bale > Michu seems the transfer du jour this week. I'll probably do that myself but given how supposedly comatose players have miraculously returned to form this season I'll be nervous about it. It's a real shame as Bale and Spurs are looking decent at long last. I don't wish injury on any player but it would have been better if Santi had tweaked a little muscle instead. Every time I think about selling him he just does enough to keep a place in the team. I'd rather keep Mata though - he could easily have had a hattrick yesterday.

If Mata can not be rotated (exit from CL should ensure he wont be...as much) then he's FPL gold. Always creating chances, always getting into positions, on corners, on set pieces, takes an awesome free kick and can really finish quite clinically on his day.

Find an extra 1 mil or whatever and do Berbatov -> Suarez. Maybe Silva / Bale / Mata -> Walcott?

Finally a manager who backs Defoe to the fullest.

Huge credit to AVB there. Maybe he isn't all that bad...

        You're wrong.

There have been several games where Defoe was preferred to Adebayor this season.

I know because I was cursing AVB at these occasions.

I still think Defoe works best in away games though, and we should play Adebayor up front with him at WHL.

I replaced ba for fletcher and plan on captaining him. However I did so without taking a 4 point hit and before fletcher went up in price.

That being said, waiting on how Ba's Monday match performance makes good sense. I believe Fulham have only 4 clean sheets out of 15 game weeks.

Am looking for some thoughts on Defoe.
Ade is back this week... considering the last three weeks for surely Defoe has earned his place up top this game week!

If it aint broke why fix it, Yes? Or does AVB have something against Defoe?

Just a saying as u well know.

Seemed last time Ade was fit he came in straight away.
Lemme put it another way... To you, does Defoe seem like second choice striker at Tot? He does to me but wanted to get others thoughts.

        Thanks 😉

Nevertheless, I still think Michu is performing a little too well at the moment. I'd rather use my transfer to get in Defoe

Rough plan for the next few weeks.

GW 16: Berba and Caz to Fletcher and Fellaini
    GW 17: Olsson to Enrique
    GW 18: Fletcher to Defoe

And myabe at some point in there Silva to Michu for a hit.
