An action-packed first-half produced seven goals but United’s decision to shut up shop after the break means the net failed to bulge in the second 45. Reading’s cut-price assets make a persuasive case ahead of the double Gameweek, while Wayne Rooney bags a brace as the visitors move three points clear of City at the top:

On the Up

Wayne Rooney
Amongst the goals for the first time since Gameweek 8, Rooney produced his third double figure return in nine starts in this evening’s incredible match at the Madejski. Clearly, he’s still head of Robin Van Persie as United’s first-choice spot-kick taker and priced 2.0 less than the Dutchman, looks a real differential with an ownership of less than 7%.

Jonny Evans
The Irishman earned an assist for United’s converted spot-kick and maintained his recent steady form. Evans has now produced a goal, an assist, a clean sheet and three bonus points in the last three (an average of seven points per game), though with Nemanja Vidic possible returning in the midweek Champions League match with Cluj, would-be investors will be wary.

Adam Le Fondre
While Pavel Pogrebnyak continues to remain a peripheral figure for Brian McDermott’s side, Le Fondre’s eye for goal is clearly crucial to Reading’s attacking forays. His header from a Nicky Shorey corner took the score to 2-2 against United and was his third strike in four games – at 4.8, he served a timely reminder of his cut-price potential ahead of double Gameweek 16.

Nicky Shorey
He’s created chances aplenty for Reading over the last few matches and his corner kick duties highlighted the left-back’s cut-price appeal. A pair of assists against United will earn the 4.1 priced defender plenty new owners over the next few days ahead of the Royals’ double.

Hal Robson-Kanu
The winger earned a fourth consecutive start on the Royals’ right flank and shifted onto Fantasy radars by firing home the opener against United. With an assist also to his name over the last four, Robson-Kanu certainly looks likely to keep his place ahead of next week’s trips to Southampton and Sunderland.

Going Down

Rafael
Tormented on the flank by Jobi McAnuff, he picked up a booking and seemed unable to cope with the Royals winger. Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to sub him off after just 30 minutes will be a real worry for the Brazilian’s owners.

United Defence
Conceding for the first time in a match once again, Sir Alex Ferguson’s backline continued their dire defensive form. The midweek clean sheet against West Ham seems almost an anomaly – United have now shipped 12 goals on the road, just one less than Reading and, as Evans showed today, their defenders are relying on attacking returns to justify any sort of investment.

Mata was class today, but Chelsea were shocking in second half. A few weeks ago all were raving about his performances and he didn't go bad overnight. Start of season if you had to pick the 2 best attacking mids you'd probably go for Silva or Mata. I thought Valencia would tear it up. Not yet!

More attacking, dynamic than Modric. A lot of similarities but Modric a holding midfielder, initiates attacks, picking passes to the guys giving assists. Cazorla more assists and shots on goal. Not for FF reasons but I prefer Modric, a class act.

Plan was Mata => Walcott this week, but as Walcott did nothing and Mata scored, things have obviously changed again.

    What do you think
    a) Mata out (gw17 blank)
    b) Bale out (injured)
    c) neither, save transfer and play Hughes this gw and then next week sess => michu

Also not sure which one to get in, michu or walcott, but I suppose it have to be michu.
Sold Michu for 6.9 few weeks back 🙁

True. Will be interesting, that's the best word to describe it, how Rafa sets out his team v Sunderland. Cole was poor in 2nd half and rumoured to be on the way out.. Might eventually settle on Terry and Cahill as CBs and Ivanovic and Azpilicueta as FBs. Luiz is a liability at the back. Too much football in him to be a defender, not enough football in him to be a footballer.

    Caz, Bale, Morrison, Sterling Maloney
    RVP, Berba
    Subs: Bunn, Suarez, Rafael, Shawcross

Fell down the rankings in my mini league yesterday, from 1st to 4th. Any ideas on transfers. I have 1xFT and 0.4M in the bank

No grav does not help but it can also be just the timing.

You could downgrade Hangeland as I think he is overpriced. Even Rafael as he is due rotation.
Use money to upgrade Maloney. Someone like Michu?
Look at getting Fellani... perhaps upgrading Morrison?
Hold Suarez as his fixtures look good after ban.
Am not a fan of Cazorla for the price being asked... others disagree but I prefer Walcott for Ars cover.

      Hope this helps.

2 of my strikers are injured!!!!!! Might have to play 4-5-1 (ugh).

    Mata>Sessengnon? (free)

    Mata>Sessengnon & Ruiz(Inj)>Fletcher? (-4)

    Gorks/McCauley>Shorey/Cuellar? (free)

Keep Mata and McAuley.Anyone else in for Gorkss?I reckon Sunderland and Reading will concede in both DGW games.

Cheers GreenRed! I could do swap Gorks for Shorey/Morrison but not Cuellar.

I'm a bit perturbed at just having RVP as my ONLY striker only though......

I was thinking Mata>Sessongnon cos of Chelsea's blank week/teamsheet and the DGW...

this whole protection thing is just stupid, I don't understand why price needs to be protected after player has had his ban served.

Reply for my question above to replace Rafael

Gibbs: always injury prone, Arsenal defense is not great too.
Evans: Man Utd defense is even more rubbish
Nas: no show last GW, still unclear.
Apu: sill unclear unstill Terry back + GW17 blank + Rafatation

    😐

Don't do it. I can't see a CS for either Reading or Sunderland in the DGW. Relying too much on Shorey's attacking points. Probably wasting 2 free transfers for him, 1 in and 1 out.

True. But like Gorkss, hes meant to be a cheapo whom ill rotate with 2 others for much of the rest of this season. But i totally agree with the no CS potential.

Ps- had Gorks during his 11pts haul though 😀

Yip, get them out but not for Shorey or other Reading just cois of a DGW. Plenty of cash from them 2 to get 2 right good defenders but maybe just get Clyne out.

Due to either being a hated individual or not having a grav I am not getting any replies, maybe even due to both. Anyway, hopefully it's because of the lack of a grav as a personality change would take a bit more time to solve. So.....how do I upload a grav? Thanks! Please tell me even though there's no financial reward for doing so
