An action-packed first-half produced seven goals but United’s decision to shut up shop after the break means the net failed to bulge in the second 45. Reading’s cut-price assets make a persuasive case ahead of the double Gameweek, while Wayne Rooney bags a brace as the visitors move three points clear of City at the top:

On the Up

Wayne Rooney
Amongst the goals for the first time since Gameweek 8, Rooney produced his third double figure return in nine starts in this evening’s incredible match at the Madejski. Clearly, he’s still head of Robin Van Persie as United’s first-choice spot-kick taker and priced 2.0 less than the Dutchman, looks a real differential with an ownership of less than 7%.

Jonny Evans
The Irishman earned an assist for United’s converted spot-kick and maintained his recent steady form. Evans has now produced a goal, an assist, a clean sheet and three bonus points in the last three (an average of seven points per game), though with Nemanja Vidic possible returning in the midweek Champions League match with Cluj, would-be investors will be wary.

Adam Le Fondre
While Pavel Pogrebnyak continues to remain a peripheral figure for Brian McDermott’s side, Le Fondre’s eye for goal is clearly crucial to Reading’s attacking forays. His header from a Nicky Shorey corner took the score to 2-2 against United and was his third strike in four games – at 4.8, he served a timely reminder of his cut-price potential ahead of double Gameweek 16.

Nicky Shorey
He’s created chances aplenty for Reading over the last few matches and his corner kick duties highlighted the left-back’s cut-price appeal. A pair of assists against United will earn the 4.1 priced defender plenty new owners over the next few days ahead of the Royals’ double.

Hal Robson-Kanu
The winger earned a fourth consecutive start on the Royals’ right flank and shifted onto Fantasy radars by firing home the opener against United. With an assist also to his name over the last four, Robson-Kanu certainly looks likely to keep his place ahead of next week’s trips to Southampton and Sunderland.

Going Down

Rafael
Tormented on the flank by Jobi McAnuff, he picked up a booking and seemed unable to cope with the Royals winger. Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to sub him off after just 30 minutes will be a real worry for the Brazilian’s owners.

United Defence
Conceding for the first time in a match once again, Sir Alex Ferguson’s backline continued their dire defensive form. The midweek clean sheet against West Ham seems almost an anomaly – United have now shipped 12 goals on the road, just one less than Reading and, as Evans showed today, their defenders are relying on attacking returns to justify any sort of investment.

Didn't see the game today but saw Villa v Rereading on Tuesday. A woeful game! Anyways, Le Fondre looked lively and he scored today. Most won't consider him by the fact that he's priced less than 5m and think price reflects form. He's a decent option for the DGW.

    Morning deadzoners,

    Need some opinions please guys.

Not a fan of hits as they never seem to come off for me, but would like your thoughts.

    Which is better:

    A. Sterling and Sessegnon
    B. Fellaini and McAnuff (-4)

    Jussi – Mignolet
    Rangel – B Jones – Cuellar – Cameron – Shorey
    ??? – ??? – Michu – Silva – Bale
    Suarez – Berbatov – RVP

    Ta muchly.

I am having a bad weekend with benching fellaini, suarez captain, suarez ban and bale injury.
the problem is i want to keep both suarez and bale next week.
i plan to do gorkss->shorey and switch to 4-4-2 for the dgw.
    what do you think?

    Bego (Jaas) (not decided actually)
    Enrique Cuellar Cameron Shorey (Clyne)
    Walcott Michu Fellaini Sterling (Bale)
    RVP Fletcher (C)

I'm in the same boat with Bale and am not sure about keeping him or maybe getting Defoe in. I got rid of Cameron and put Nastasic in, so I'm in pain too.

      Go with the plan above.

Due to either being a hated individual or not having a grav I am not getting any replies, maybe even due to both. Anyway, hopefully it’s because of the lack of a grav as a personality change would take a bit more time to solve. So…..how do I upload a grav? Thanks! But that will need to wait..

Mata to Sess this week then to michu the week after..

SAF admitted Rafael was taken off because he wanted more height and he had a yellow as well. He said Rafael has been one of our best players this seaosn, so I don't think he'll get benched. Evans and Rio should be the ones to make way - they were awful!

I would also stay away from Sunderland offence, but that's just me.

Think I'll give him another week although I'm sure there will be a lot of goals MCI vs MCU.

I don't really wanna get rid of mata as I think he's class but damn Benitez has stuffed that up.. Top much rotation and they aren't really playing that well..

Sess only cos its the DGW. Only have cueller and don't really wanna miss out on the point haul (hopefully). Then to Michu.

See how Sunderland look today, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's another abject performance in attack. Straight to Michu might be better, considering NOR and it saves a transfer.

One wildcard can be played at any time. The January Wildcard can only be used after Gameweek 21 starts (1 Jan 11:30) until Gameweek 24 ends (2 Feb 11:30); as the January wildcard isn't available until after the Gameweek 21 deadline, the earliest these transfers will be active is Gameweek 22.

So what this means for Hangeland is that as soon as he loses the red flag due to being eligible for next GW his price can't rise or drop for 8 days?

    Scoutify! 😀
    Begovic
    Cuellar / Baines / Shorey
Bale (vc) / Mata / Silva / Michu
    Berbatov / Van Persie (c) / Giroud

    Jaaskelainen / McAnuff / Hughes / Nelsen

    2FT, 0 in the bank.

Mata to Fellaini on the cards, and maybe Cuellar to Enrique this week. Not too keen on the DGW. Thoughts?

If you have bale you prolly need to do sagna for a playing defender.

Otherwise, no harm saving the FT.

I still have my WC intact and planning to use it for the Chelsea DGW.

if the chelsea dgw falls within Jan WC period, can i use this one and carry on my remaining WC into second half of the season?

Now thinking of holding out on my transfer so I can get Fellaini in without taking a hit the following week.
Maybe doing Rangel -> Davies to fund it.

Is this team good enough for the DGW?

    Mignolet
    Rangel – Cuellar – Shorey
    Pienaar - Sterling – Michu – Silva – Bale
    Berbatov – RVP

    Jussi - Suarez - Cameron - B Jones

    Ta muchly.

Thinking of a Gunter > Shorey FT to enable me to to bench Rafa and then look to ship out in a couple weeks. Took a hit this week for Mata > Bale which didn't really work out so a punt on Sess for Bale is a possibility

    How does this look?

    Bego

Baines Cuellar Davies Shorey (if I get him in)

    Michu Fell Silva Bale

    Berb RVP

    Bunn Sterling Bale Suarez

            Just went with the grav!!
Couldn't concentrate on my team for 3 consecutive weeks which didn't help.
Have been doing okay since last 3-4 weeks or so.
Had Rooney(c) yesterday and 56 with one more to play.
So still making up for those missed weeks!!!

        Oops, my bad

Bale would be benched and Sterling would play.

I've only got 1 FT so it would be a hit 🙁 That's why I'm tempted to only do the Shorey one but I can wait and see how Sess does this arvo. What do you think?

I'm feeling a kneejerk, Suarez & Bale > Fellaini & Fletcher, then Bale back in for Sess in a week's time. Don't normally plan like that, but not having Fellaini is getting ridiculous and even though Suarez will score goals I cannot captain him again so he's not worth it.
