Today’s big news is that Michu has been ruled out of Swansea’s trip to Fulham tomorrow after picking up an ankle injury at Reading on Boxing Day. Michael Laudrup remains uncertain whether his top goalscorer will be ready to face Villa on New Year’s Day, stating he may be available “with a little luck”.

Luis Suarez has been passed fit to turn out for Liverpool’s trip to QPR as both sides look to bounce back from Boxing Day defeats, while Harry Redknapp is hopeful Ryan Nelsen can shake off a virus in time for Sunday’s game. Carlos Tevez failed to train due to illness yesterday but “should” be fit, according to City assistant boss David Platt. Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri are both back, though Mario Balotelli is likely to miss out with illness once again.

Over at United, Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to have Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck available after they missed out against Newcastle. Phil Jones will be assessed, while Shinji Kagawa could make the bench, according to his manager, who also ruled Wayne Rooney out “for at least another two games”. Jonas Olsson, Youssouf Mulumbu and Goran Popov are all “major doubts” for West Brom ahead of their Old Trafford visit, though.

The injuries mount up for Paul Lambert as Villa prepare for the visit of Wigan. Andreas Weimann and Nathan Baker have been ruled out for the midlands outfit as they look to bounce back from a couple of recent hammerings.

We’ve collected all this in our team news section and added our current predicted lineups ahead of the weekend’s fixtures. You can keep in touch with the very latest via our twitter feed as always.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Nice one mate. I didn't really see the point of Ba -> Berba until you mentioned Yaya -> Mata. That probably swings it. Berba's fixtures are better on paper too. I can't wish you too much luck as you're just behind me in the rankings 😉

Michu & Rafael > Walcott & Hangeland worth a 4 point hit? I only had 10 playing last GW and don't want the same again. Leaves me with:

    Begovic
    G.Johnson Demel Hangeland
    Walcott Bale Sterling Silva
    Suarez Van Persie Ba

I can... but i've come to the conclusion that Arsenal won't keep a clean sheet and i don't really want to be solely relying on attacking points. Fulham's record of home clean sheets is fairly awful i must admit but against a Michu-less Swansea they surely have a decent chance?

They beat West Brom 2-0 a couple of weeks ago but apart from that their home clean sheets have been fairly sparse. Before that game they conceded 2 to Swansea, 2 to Spurs and 3 to Fulham at the Emirates

Far from it, and i realise it's a punt. I'm actually going to the Fulham game tomorrow so that is another reason i want to opt for Hangeland (only other real choices are Lowton/Harte).

As for Gibbs, like i said i can't see an Arsenal clean sheet this weekend and knowing Gibbs he will be injured by the time the DGW rolls around (it's still 3-4 weeks away yet!)

Arsenal have a double game week coming up and they are a much better team. Fulham have been awful at the back and you're basing your choice on whether or not Michu plays? I'd go with Gibbs or Sagna.

michu does make a big difference but hernandez is back so swansea still have a good chance of scoring.

i think the key thing for u is Superdunny - when u wildcarding??? the dgw is coming up so if you plan to wildcard after it now is the perfect chance to bring in arsenal defender over hangeland.

once u bring in hangeland i can see u bringing him out b4 dgw. wasted transfer then

      1) sterling/tarabt >> Nolan for a hit?
      2) choose 2 from Rafael cueller demel Davies?….cueller demel I think
      3) A: rafael >> sagna (if i dont take out rafael, will have cueller coming in)
      B: silva >> walcott

I think most (including me) would recommend B but then i thought surely sagna + silva is better then cueller + walcott.
