As we close on a century of episodes it was time to freshen things up and bring new voices to accompany my drone and that of grumpy Granville. In this weeks’ episode, we draft in both “Professor” Chris Atkinson and his “Rate My Team” computer, plus long-time community member and contributor, Jonty, for a new ScoutCast regular.

Don’t worry, the usual format remains intact although, having recorded this just minutes after last night’s whistles, Granville escapes the usual mini-league grilling. Not surprisingly, there’s plenty of “Granny’s miffed” to endure, plus “All Aboard” and the weekend preview. That’s’ rounded off by the “Full Jonty” a brand new feature that will bring you, the community, into our weekly ramblings.

Have a listen then get involved by mailing jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

    Now we have 3 LB's:

    One injury prone
    One headcase
One that tastes nice with melted cheese

    Things are looking up. 🙄

Am eligible for upgrade finally 🙂 Anyone recommend their smartphone as an upgrade choice?

No iPod, iPad or iPhones in our house. Google Nexus tablet and I'm using a Chromebook to write this. Would still get an iPhone 5 if it was truly great?

The missus is up for upgrade too and I want to get her a smartphone with a decent camera. I use my phone for internet browsing and the odd photograph/video taking. Build quality is important to me.

    Any shouts?

What is being lost is there is a right way and a wrong way at securing your next big money contract, whether your motivation is money or not. I don't begrudge anyone trying to better their lot in life.

Burning your bridges as Odemwingie has done, and showing a complete lack of class quite rightly deserves condemning.

If you can look at them as a United fan and pronounce them as pseudo-Randian automatons who do not feel some sort of attachment to the club, I think you're being very unrealistic.

In general, I would say that your willingness to denigrate principle does not mean anyone else has to.

When did I denigrate principle? I'm just suggesting that the principle they are playing for is a different one, a realistic one - than the one you blinkered fans would have in your Utopian reality.

If another company were to offer you 30% more to do the same thing as you are now - with other benefits (closer to home, nice company car, etc.) ... would you take it?

Nevermind: don't answer ... you'll either support my point or you show yourself to be untruthful.

That's when you denigrated it. Your thesis is very simple, you say they only play for self-interest, and you seem to endorse it.

That may be true for some, but not for all, and I cannot share your endorsement. God help us if your vision of sport comes about.

I'm mocking your inability to face the reality of the sport's guiding principle. Read it again. Slowly.

And *of course* they only play for self-interest ... Jeebus what else do they play for?

And yes, it's universal. You're self-interested, too. Sorry if I have to be the one to tear you out of the closet.

Err, what? You seem to be confusing bettering your financial situation with following the unwritten (and sometimes written) rules of conduct. You may think you can ride roughshed over them but believe me, they'll come back and bite you.

It's clear you think principles should only apply when they suit your 'betterment'. I find it sad that you think that way, and that you think OTHERS all think that way.

'True professionalism' ... whatta idgit. Professionalism means getting the most for your talents and work. And people commonly, like, every day, seek employment outside their current employers for a better compensation package. Your employers don't pay you for your loyalty, they pay for your productivity. If that drops, they drop you. So where's this much romanticized loyalty and respect then?

Grow up. Greed isn't a bad thing.

As a contractor, I know perfectly well about pitching companies against each other to secure the best rate. I also know that my work and professional reputation counts for everything. I wouldn't last too long, if I pitched up at another company while still under contract because who's to say I wouldn't do it to my next contract? I'd also expect penalties for that behaviour.

And don't mince your words, come out and say idiot! But for the life of me, I don't know why you're making this personal.

In any case, as with most other lines of work, rarely are people true mavericks. Success comes from gaining the trust of others and pulling together as a team. Odemwingie has clearly shown in his actions today he doesn't want to help West Brom.

And I'd suggest that is more to do with their limited time in the shop window, where they're looking to set themselves up for when they retire.

I speak to a load of the player in my line of work and I can tell you they wont care in the slightest. The players are pretty much all out to earn as much as they can, they dont care about the clubs they play it is is purely about the money.

If a player sees another player getting a bit more move they will either be pleased for the player or jealous.

Poor week and both Luiz and Gibbs injured - what change(s) would you make? Team value 110.3m. 0 in the bank, 1 FT available.

    Begovic (Cerny)

Luiz - Gibbs - Davies (Demel, Harte)

Mata - Fellaini (vc) - Michu - Walcott (Puncheon)

    RVP (c) - Suarez - Aguero

I think it's good. £50m quid for a football player is fecking ridiculous. And the money the likes of Carroll and Henderson were bought for - it made a mockery of the game.

But then, I'm not an Arsenal fan in desperate need of a couple of players. 🙂

I love both Baines and Giroud, but Baines for the long haul, and if LeFondre will sit on you bench, just get Anichebe and have more money.

Mmmm..interesting...Vorm at the Swans has had to share his time with Tremmel due to injury this season...Just realised that the combined total of Vorm and Tremmel is only five points behind the leading goalie Mignolet...and at 5.1 mill...

So you could have spent a lot more on Vorm & Tremmel and would have been better off with having Minge.

With a DGW coming up and overloading with outfield players potentially causing a problem in the blank week...Vorm is an option that reduces that and is a keeper (no pun intended)...and bank any profit on Bego/Mignolet

Fellas, quick FF question among the chaos:

    1. Play Lambert and save 2 FT's to stock up for the DGW

    2. Have a one week punt on Giroud (STK) and have one FT for the DGW

Currently have 2 Swansea and 0 Liverpool
