As we close on a century of episodes it was time to freshen things up and bring new voices to accompany my drone and that of grumpy Granville. In this weeks’ episode, we draft in both “Professor” Chris Atkinson and his “Rate My Team” computer, plus long-time community member and contributor, Jonty, for a new ScoutCast regular.

Don’t worry, the usual format remains intact although, having recorded this just minutes after last night’s whistles, Granville escapes the usual mini-league grilling. Not surprisingly, there’s plenty of “Granny’s miffed” to endure, plus “All Aboard” and the weekend preview. That’s’ rounded off by the “Full Jonty” a brand new feature that will bring you, the community, into our weekly ramblings.

      Pog i'd say! Look at ALF's recent minutes played. I know he has scored 5 in the last 3 but he ain't gonna keep scoring a brace in 20 minutes..

    Dang can't decide between Davies and DeGuzman for the DGW - but Davies price rise is making me antsy - think he's probably a good cheapie to have long term, but going by last DGW, offense might be better to double up on.

    Next week: Zabaleta, Gibbs & Ba -> Enrique, 5.5 defender, Suarez, 4 point hit

    If Ba's price wasn't dropping I could do Zabaleta & Ba -> Enrique & Suarez, no hit. Annoying.

    Two choices

    1) Buy Glen Johnsone for Gibbs this week
    Then next week sell Fellani for a cheap mid (under5.2) and bring Suarez in for -4)

    2) But someone from another team this week for Gibbs
    Then next week Baines to Glen Johnson and Podolski to Suarez

    3) Buy Glen Johnson this week and get sturridge next week for free

    Im really trying to avoid losing Baines , and feel losing Fellani might be slightly more Palatable

    Ideas?

        Three is the least disruptive and the cheapest. However am in the top 200 and could get absolutely massacred if Suarez went menta in those two games, it a big risk not to have the mosr captained player

          Suarez won't be able to go as mental as he has earlier in the season, because there are two goalscorers in the team now. Not quite the same risk as earlier. You probably saw in the last ARS-LIV game how he was stuck out on the left.

          Obviously if you get any hint that Sturridge won't play, got to go Suarez.

      Tough. I would lose Fell before Baines. I think I would actually do (1). I am facing something similar--I will be taking a hit this week and next week to end up with JE, Gerrard, Suarez, and Michu. I could have Sturridge for only one hit, but I think it's worth two to have Suarez instead.

        There is a fourth choice . Do nothing this week , let Gibbs drop one , then i will be able to make three transfers at once for 4 points next week , which would have the added advantage of more information
        Because GJ not exactly needed this week anyway

          I am about 200 places behind you and plan to wait until next week before getting GJ or Sturridge.

          There is England vs brazil midweek, who knows can happen.

          Gibbs is flagged hence higher NTO is required. GJ will not increase in price rapidly due to his price.

        More i think about it more i like option of doing nothing and making all three transfers at once.
        Because with a team of fifteen there a good chance someone will get injured , and will be in better position to react to it , as will need all fit players for the following week

      Interesting topic, this.

      I was originally going with Gerrard, Studge and Suarez but now thanks to Gibbs' injury I'll be doing 3).
      Gibbs > GJ this week and Pod > Studge next. I don't like it much much Gibbs' price is falling like a stone, my other defenders have poor fixtures and GJ may do something at the Etihad. Not likely, but you never know.

        his price not really dropping like a stone , hasnt fallen at all yet. It will only fall .1 this week , then the next .1 after that dosnt change my selling price anyway. Plus he needs double transfers out to drop due to his flag,
        I think i can keep him till at least middle of next week and only lose .1 on him

          Hmmm. May just go with the bench Gibbs, play Zaba, Davies and Demel option in that case. Would be terrible to bring in GJ this week, see Liverpool lose at the Etihad and have another player injured. One to ponder...

    What to do for the DGW?

    1) Dempsey, Fellaini, Anichebe --> Gerrard, 4.5mid, Sturridge. (-4 hit)

    2) Azpilicueta, Dempsey --> Enrique + Gerrard

    3) Dempsey, Aguero --> Gerrard, Suarez

    Looking at 3, but fear Aguero will go crazy against Southampton... at least Suarez gives a solid (c) option

      that q depends on who you would captain. no point considering option 2 - defenders rarely score big. and azp got wigan at home

      liverpool are unreliable but will prob be more eager to win then swansea

      go for whichever option that ruins your team the least - as liverpool arent playing weekafter

        i dont know, they rarely score big, but captaining a defender when they have 2 decent chances at cleanies can be worth it....if they score or assist (as enrique and GJ can) then its a bonus......
        basically would you take 24 points from a dgw player if they had a good chance

    Got Gibbs, who's out, and Berba and Mata, but I'm saving my transfer. Will need two frees and possibly a 4pt hit for the DGW. Got no Liverpool players and only Davies from the Swans.

    And it gives me a decent look at Sturridge against quality oppo.

    As much as I rate Monreal, i am struggling to understand that transfer given Sagna's recent form at RB. Obviously Wenger doesn't really rate Jenkinson otherwise he would be playing ahead of Sagna unless Wenger is blind/

      I know it's easy to dislike Beckham - I do - but people can't surely be hating on him for this?
