Is your mini-league crown looking out of reach? Not to worry, there’s still plenty to play for, not least our second free cup competition of the season. If you missed our article earlier in the week, you should know that the qualifying round was played out this weekend but, if you’re a member, you can still enter your team and score before tomorrow morning at 9am.

Read on for details on the Members Paddy Power cup but, if you’re a veteran of such tournaments, you can go straight here to make your entry. Members will need to log in first.

What is the Paddy Power Members Cup?
The Paddy Power Members Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game available to our members. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager highest in the overall FPL standings will progress.

Do I have to be a Member to take part?
Yes. This annual tournament is provided as part of our offering to members. Obviously it’s not too late to register as a member or upgrade your account. Details on how this is done is available right here.

How do I enter?
Simply fill out the entry form here. You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry. You can also check that you are entered via this list.

What do I do if I run into a problem with my entry?
Please contact support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk and we will look into any issues with your entry. Please note, we can only do this prior to the Qualifying Round. If you make an error when submitting your team id on the entry form, you may be withdrawn from the tournament so please take care when completing the form.

When does it start?
The qualifying round takes place in Gameweek 25 but you can enter after the Gameweek is played out. All entries received before 9am on Monday February 4 will be entered into the qualifying round. In this first cup competition we will have 512 qualifiers for the first round: the 512 with the top scores in Gameweek 25 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 26. Again, FPL rank will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published on Wednesday February 6.

What is the Gameweek Schedule
Each round of the Members Paddy Power Cup will be played out over the following schedule:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 25
  • Round 1 – 512 teams – Gameweek 26
  • Round 2 – 256 teams – Gameweek 27
  • Round 3 – 128 teams – Gameweek 28
  • Round 4 – 64 teams – Gameweek 29
  • Round 5 – 32 teams – Gameweek 30
  • Round 6 – 16 teams – Gameweek 31
  • Quarter-Finals – 8 teams – Gameweek 32
  • Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 33
  • The Final – 2 teams – Gameweek 34

When are the fixtures released?
The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline – the draw for the First Round will be expected on Thursday February 7.

Are there prizes?

Sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

  • Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon Voucher

In addition, the Quarter-Finalists from this tournament will gain entry to the Fantasy Football Scout Shield where they will play the eight Quarter-Finalists from this season’s earlier Paddy Power Cup. The shield tournament will start in Gameweek 35.

Cup Entrants will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 and over to be eligible for some of the above prizes. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. You can, of course, enter without being over 18 and without a Paddy Power account but will not be eligible for the free bet prizes.

If you’ve yet to register a Paddy Power account, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10.

When is Sturridge visiting the hospital for his scan?

Looked like it the kind of injury that he ran off , but they often get
worse once the muscles have come to rest , he enough of a doubt for me to
rule out a Sturridge Suarez combo

I suspect it's the kind of injury that they only bother to mention if there are international friendlies about to happen 😉

If Gerrard rises 0.1 tonight, then 0.2 in the next few days, he will rise the max 0.3m

what happens then? does the NTI stop counting?

so would he then need 28k NTI between 11.30am and 2am saturday to rise again?

The NTI still counts, they just don't get a 4th rise. Would then go up Saturday night unless there were massive sales that day.

Longer post alert. Thinking loud. I want to "put it on paper"

The topic is obvious. Double GW upcoming. The team atm
    Bego/ Bunn
    Sagna Harte Cameron Demel Davies*
    Michu* Bale Mata Fell Walcott
    RVP Kun Pog,
1,8m in the bank 2 FT.

Liv players that I consider: GJ Agger Suarez Sturridge Gerrard.

I think its best to make a transfer that will pay of midterm, From all of Liv players the one that I most would like to keep after the double is Sturridge. Reasons: Price, Position, Goal threat, Stats (he has same shots. SIB and one more SoT than Suarez in last 4), Fixtures. I think I can bench him in GW 27 and keep him after. He is Europa League tied so we all presume he is fine and will play 180 min and no friendly midweek too.

Liv fixtures after the double: wig TOT sot avl WHM rdg
If u ask me that is goals goals goals. For me Sturridge is straight competition with Fellaini. Same price for me.
Fell fixtures in the same time: nor RDG ars MCI STO tot

Lets check some numbers again: Ownership Fell 35,3% vs 6.1% (Fell more owned obviously)
In last 4 since Sturridge arrived he has more shots and more SIB. Fell has 1 more SoT. I want to keep Sturidge and after the double. I am tempted a lot. Also he is great cheaper alternative for Suarez who is owned by 33,7%. Comparison tools gives me almost nothing between them too.

If I go Suarez I def gonna be tempted to sell him for Kun or Rooney. So he is only shorterm. Means another hit in GW 27 so minus 8. Not good if u ask me.

Part 2 of the transfers. Getting Gerrard for Fellaini. I checked the stats too. Fell looks like more of a goal threat and Gerrard like more assist threat. Also he has penalties we all know that. I think I could keep him too after the double. Will let that decision for later. Its either him or Michu out for Sissoko. It depends if I decide to go with Rooney upfront or no. Or Kun. I need to break this Power 5 due to my ranking. I haven't worked out all about Gerrard but lets say I like the punt. Also its just playing Fell away at Utd, Gerrard for SWA WBA or Pog away at Stoke. No brainier IMO no?

Bottom line 2 FT tonight. Kun and Fell out. Gerrard and Sturridge in. Yeah or nay? Any flaws in the plan?

That all makes perfect sense, and then after DGW your only one FT away from 11 players. As such I have absolutely no idea what you were on about earlier.

If you were to get GJ as well you would be shooting yourself in the foot.

Yeah I think I will pass on GJ. Too bad. Demel worries me. I need Demel to play for me. I might do the hit Demel -> GJ but that is a whole another topic

What you could do is forgo Gerrard and get GJ for the long term. Thus ensuring 11 players both weeks.

hmmm..... u could be right there.

            The difference will be playing
            A) Fell Utd away and than Nor away instead of
            B) Gerrard WBA SWA and -4 pts and Sissoko.

Hmmm.... Well actually the B could pay offf.. Hmmm... I might do only the first transfer tonight and think about the second one.

    **Herr Vets**,

    the plan you suggested of

    Aguero > Suarez &
    Fletch to Sturridge

and you said “hope to catch a studge double rise” to get Aguero back, what did you mean?
I will be 0.1 short of doing Suarez > Aguero for the blank.
Did you mean ‘hope for a suarez double rise’ ?

I meant hope for a Sturridge double rise with Kun staying the same price, thus allowing you get Kun back... but I may have not been thinking straight. You intend to keep Studge?

Hrrmm... that is much more tricky. Sorry.

What i'm saying is, I have 0.3 in the bank atm

        At the current prices.

        Aguero > Suarez &
Fletch to Sturridge would leave 0.2 in the bank

Then to get Aguero back in (without a hit) I would be 0.1 short (at the current prices) of doing Suarez > Aguero in the blank GW. Unless I took a 4 point hit to do Sturridge > ????

If taking a hit is what you meant?

        Cheers

Who (if any) to swap for Gerrard? If I do michu, fellaini or walcott I have to take a hit to get the money... but the only sensible thing is to sell Bale for him for just one week and get bale back?

Are you the sort of person who

    A) goes out with your mates has twelve pints then wakes up in a strange bad with massive hangover
    and lipstick on your pecker

    b) Goes out with your mates has a few beers then goes home when they go on to the strip club.
Next day you remember having a good time , but have a vague feeling of muissing out

    C) Stay home and read a book . Then hext day act all smug because all your mates feel ill

Sorry if it's been asked loads but what's the latest news on Sturridge's knock?

Planning on Kilgallon (don't ask!) and Podolski to Johnson and Sturridge (-4) this week.

Should I do it now before Kilgallon falls and Sturridge rises?

so is your assertion that he will be ok. It all guesswork. We know he had some kind of problem near the end of the first half. We also know hes going for a scan

Bear in mind that RMT cannot account for the large fluctuations in points scored by players. Bale is a force unto himself when it comes to RMT.

But yes Sturridge is not worth an 8pt hit

I think it's borderline. But then I might even pick up an injury or two next GW and then I'm looking at 12/16 point hits just for the sake of young Daniel.

    a) Suarez + GJ
    b) Suarez + Gerrard

    Vote please

    It'd be Rafael > GJ

    or Bale > Gerrard.

Any hits involved? The problem with Bale to Gerrard is that Bale could easily outscore Gerrard x 2. Not saying he will, but he could. Rafa, meanwhile, would probably be scored on against Everton. GJ gives you two shots at a cleanie, so a better swap in my view.

Sturridge was limping in the first half after his goal. It may indeed turn out to be nothing but I don't think it can be described as the traditional 'fake international injury', there is a little niggle there for sure.

I am definitely considering him but I wouldn't buy him tonight unless money was an serious issue over the next two weeks. PLus, he said he is getting a scan tomorrow so you may hear more and miss out on .1 at worst.

I mentioned this yesterday. I seem to have a good eye for picking which players will do well, but a rather crap one for picking when

Marveaux, Noble, AJ, Kebe, even Benteke.

Here's a tip, look at who I buy that is doing nothing, wait for me to sell, then give it maybe 1 week, then buy them. Guaranteed points 😛

    Michu, Fellaini, Bale, Walcott, Mata
