Gareth Bale tops the ICT Index for Gameweek 25, with a change in position significantly boosting the Welshman’s stats in Tottenham’s trip to West Brom. Unsurprisingly, Moussa Sissoko and Marouane Fellaini both rank in our top five after bagging a brace apiece at the weekend, while Jay Rodriguez and Adel Taarabt also feature highly for their respective displays for Southampton and QPR last Saturday:

Our members can, of course, get the full data behind the Index scores via our members area but, as always, we’ve compiled our guide to the figures that turned our heads in Gameweek 25…

Quick poll to find out how many people care about the Liv v Swans blank in 27? I'm trying to stick to just 3 of them for this week so i have a transfer and a sub for the week after, but it seems most people are going for the glory on here... whats the consensus, gunning for the points and hoping they pay for the follwing hit/s?

We had very similar scores at the weekend, and have a similar strategy it appears. I'm too scared to not have Suarez this week, so will have to lose Kun v Saints on TV to accomodate :O

I'm going 4 - Enrique, Sturridge, Davies and Michu. I'm actually tempted to keep Rafael and not bother with Enrique, but 2 home games look primed for at least 1 CS. I might be able to field 11 the next week even without any hits (albeit a weak side), but I might just take one hit and hope that it pays off. I wouldn't advise more than 4 DGWers though.

I agree. I'm tempted by Carra as it will prevent me from taking a hit to bring in a Pool def as well as a Pool forward. I've only taken one hit in the last 18 months (the Walcott v Newc week) so not keen on them generally but i guess you hope you get the points to cover it.

Exactly what I'm mulling over. Not sure Enrique over Rafael is wise if it entails a hit the following week, as Rafael could keep a CS against Everton. Then again, he could also end up on the bench...

I think having 4 is a slight risk.

You're relying on all of your players to play the next GW, and not be rotated/injured/suspended.

People could end up taking a 12 point hit just to get 9 players on the pitch.

I agree. It's one of those things, if you do 3 then you know all the big hitters will smash it and more than make up for any points hits needed later. I like to think i have a sensible, long term strategy so will do 3 and hope to score significantly above average in 27.

      It's not exactly that....

I was always gonna have Suarez+Sturridge for the Liverpool dgw. Now why GJ, who was that extra -4 hit for me?

Now my planned transfers after the dgw are Michu->Sissoko, and probably Suarez->Rooney or Sturridge->Cisse etc...One of them has to go
Frankly speaking, I was really not keen on playing Clyne against Newcastle, a game I am hoping Newcastle thrash them.
Hence to make my 11, I'd rather get a striker, and play just 3 defenders. So GJ, Davies, and Suarez/Sturridge make the bench for me. Hence the overall -8pt hit.

I guess this sort of logic applies to a whole lot of people.

Why would anyone at their right mind sell RvP at the moment? United have by far the best remaining fixures an he will probably score 20+ goals by the end of the season.

And remember this is not a DGW. Any point hits are nobrainer. Michu, Suarez and Gerrad are more than enough coverage.

    Michu, might sell post DGW.

really not sure. I've got so much tied up in him that if i sold him it'd be for good, and his fixtures aren't that bad. But could Sissoko or even De Guzman be just as good. Can I just take my 1 million profit on Michu and say thanks very much. I would also allow me to keep Suarez over Sturridge,

    What say you folks?

      I've been looking into this.

I know a few players who I really, really want to put in, but a certain team at the top of the table has an awful midfield this season (Carrick is excluded from this, to be fair to him)

I am in exactly the same boat as you. Had him since QPR away 🙂 so would lose an absolute shedload and no chance of having him back. I would like to get rid and free up a bit of a cash but my one caveat would be that I was tempted to get rid back once before and peeps on talked me out of it - Norwich at home then happened...

It's a toughie. See how he does in the DGW and then perhaps look at Sissoko - they have fixtures to match Swansea. A couple against QPR and one at Liverpool and we will be talking about a season keeper again

    Begovic
    Dawson / Davies / Johnson
    Michu / Walcott / Bale / Mata
    Aguero / Sturridge (vc) / Suarez (c)

    Bunn / Puncheon / Fabio / Pearce

And Michu->Sissoko, and Suarez->Rooney ( OR Sturridge->Lukaku) should be good enough for gw27.

5 teams fighting for 2 spots in the top 4, and none of them are good. Chelsea have a horrible manager, Tottenham Hotspur don't have a real center forward, Arsenal are slightly above average at everything without being great at anything, Liverpool have very little depth and Everton have even less depth. Four of these teams are out of Champions League, or were never there in the first place. The remaining side, Arsenal, are heavy underdogs against Bayern.

Oh, guess what. Premier League - the best league in the world.

La Liga is turd - only 2 teams ever win it really or even challenge. So, so boring. Like Scotland

Bundesliga is fun but no where near the shocks of the PL - this is what makes the PL great, anyone can beat anyone.

The French League is so crap Newcastle buy their best players and Joey Barton plays there.

Agreed on the La Liga front. But Bundesliga or Serie A standards pretty high this season.

See...this is what I don't get. "Anyone can beat anyone" doesn't make it the best league. I'd like to see the lower teams improve their standards rather than the top teams playing really poorly to make it competitive.

I know what you're saying but the strength of teams in the PL is why anyone can beat anyone. It's not an English bias, I couldn't care less. But I do think La Liga is no better than the Scottish League and that Ronaldo and co would actually do better to prove themselves here.

What is so good about Serie A? Juventus are a fab side, Napoli are OK I suppose, Milan clubs are fading forces.

RVP will score goals from sitting on the actual bench if necessary.

Haha... He actually only needs 20 mins to score so who cares IF he sees some bench time.
