Wayne Rooney may have been ruled out by most following Sir Alex Ferguson’s Thursday press conference but today he’s back in training and may yet come into the reckoning for the Loftus Road trip. United’s title rivals, City, are forced to check on the fitness of both Vincent Kompany and Gareth Barry for their clash with Chelsea, according to Roberto Mancini.

Meanwhile, down in the capital, Joey O’Brien, George McCartney and James Collins are all back in training for West Ham ahead of Monday’s home match with Tottenham. Loic Remy has trained for QPR over the last couple of days and “looks okay” ahead of United’s visit, revealed Harry Redknapp earlier this morning. The forward will continue to be assessed, though, with the R’s boss still undecided whether to field him.

Back up North and Danny Rose is ruled out with a hamstring injury for Sunderland, while skipper Lee Cattermole is unlikely to recover from a knee problem in time for the trip to West Brom. Alan Pardew remains hopeful that Tim Krul will be available for Newcastle’s home clash with Southampton. The Magpies keeper faces a scan on his ankle, though, after picking up a problem in last night’s Europa League win over Metalist.

Victor Anichebe remains ”a bit of a doubt” for Everton’s trip to Norwich, though Seamus Coleman may come into contention for the Toffees after returning to training. The home side will check on both Alex Tettey and Andrew Surman ahead of the Toffees visit.

All this and more is collected and collated in our team news section, where you’ll also find our updated predicted lineups.

I like this. Knowing your luck this season and excellent rank I can see it paying off.

Was reading an article in the "Manchester Evening News" on the train home from work where SAF is determined to keep Nani at UNited. Says he can't leave him out if he carries his FA Cup form this week into the league.

      Good luck.

You are correct, however a winger needs width to utilize that option, QPR won't mind him having to cut in, they can then set up to deal with it. A bit like Bale and Lennon when they played there.

Just scanning through my ML rivals team transfers so far. There's more hits going on than at a snipers convention! I'm 3 points off 1st place in one league, though now the leader's taken a hit technically puts me top!!! 🙂

Think I'm gonna not take a hit this week as I can field 11 already. Tempted by Suarez to Aguero, but think I'll leave it for now.

It depends though. If you are really going to struggle to get enough players out in GW29 as well, may as well strip out some deadwood now as each week up till then may call for a hit.

Seems like the best idea to save it but have dodgy defence will probably only have 6 attackers to rely on this week , only 90 points clear of mini league , could get a bit tight

I think it's one time a hit for a defender may be justified, so long as you're thinking ahead to other weeks you need him to play in. A lot are taking hits this week anyway to make repairs after the DGW.

What's iOS? Safari is Mac only. herself has iPad, never knew Chrome and Dolphin and Chrome were Mac friendly. I use Dolphin on my Nexus. Very good. Chrome is next best Use Opera too but hate the method for changing from one open screen to another and gives me probs logging into some sites.

    DDG
    Baines Clyne Pearce
    Bale (C) Walcott Mata Fellaini

Problem is that means fielding 10. I was hoping to punt on the likes of Cisse/Lambert/even Giroud this week.

In fact I think I solved the selling Sturridge dilemma. This is the last week I want Anichebe. I get in whichever 2 strikers I like this week and sell Anichebe for Sturridge next week when he plays Wigan.

I'm absolutely loving Giroud this week too. Giroud and Cisse fit the budget (leaving 1.3m spare actually)! I've been leaning towards this, the extra transfer to get out Giroud is what bugs me.

Big potential this week though, isn't there?

With Baines, Walcott, Mata, Fellaini, Anichebe all facing GW 29 blanks and 2 FTs between now and then. A and B should be locked on for GW 29 yes, no?

Giroud/Aguero is who I had targeted, but with Azpili, Evra, Mata, Fellaini, Walcott, Maloney and RVP I musn't bring in another.

I may keep Suarez and my FT and only play 10 with Lambert RVP up front.

I still have 4 last week DGW players: Michu, Sturridge, Enrique, Davies. I would considering fielding 10, but I thought I read something on here yesterday about Taylor possibly returning soon, but if I do sell Davies, I would get Evans, Clichy, or Wilson, but this blank nonsense is frustrating. Any advice?

    Bunn
    Pearce / Dawson / Johnson
    Sissoko / Puncheon / Walcott (c) / Bale / Mata

    Begovic / Fabio / Davies / Sturridge
