Wayne Rooney may have been ruled out by most following Sir Alex Ferguson’s Thursday press conference but today he’s back in training and may yet come into the reckoning for the Loftus Road trip. United’s title rivals, City, are forced to check on the fitness of both Vincent Kompany and Gareth Barry for their clash with Chelsea, according to Roberto Mancini.

Meanwhile, down in the capital, Joey O’Brien, George McCartney and James Collins are all back in training for West Ham ahead of Monday’s home match with Tottenham. Loic Remy has trained for QPR over the last couple of days and “looks okay” ahead of United’s visit, revealed Harry Redknapp earlier this morning. The forward will continue to be assessed, though, with the R’s boss still undecided whether to field him.

Back up North and Danny Rose is ruled out with a hamstring injury for Sunderland, while skipper Lee Cattermole is unlikely to recover from a knee problem in time for the trip to West Brom. Alan Pardew remains hopeful that Tim Krul will be available for Newcastle’s home clash with Southampton. The Magpies keeper faces a scan on his ankle, though, after picking up a problem in last night’s Europa League win over Metalist.

Victor Anichebe remains ”a bit of a doubt” for Everton’s trip to Norwich, though Seamus Coleman may come into contention for the Toffees after returning to training. The home side will check on both Alex Tettey and Andrew Surman ahead of the Toffees visit.

All this and more is collected and collated in our team news section, where you’ll also find our updated predicted lineups.

We’ll be factoring today’s updates into the Rate My Team model very soon, with the Projections updated in the next couple of hours.

We’ll keep you informed of any new information via our twitter feed, as always.

I've just seen the Nani talk above...He has played 127 minutes in the League since the 29th of September. Other than his goal as sub in the FA Cup, is there enough to believe he is now going to get a run in the team?

      Yes.

      1) He was brilliant vs. Reading. SAF touted him MOM
      2) Brilliant fixtures
      3) Brilliant fixtures means United will mostly play 4-4-2
      4) Valencia and Young have been abysmal

If you had the choice to lose Sturridge, who'd you bring in?
    A) Giroud. Could go mental against Villa , and could score again in the Tottenham Arsenal derby, but he's facing a potential blank gw29
B)Papiss Cisse. Has SOT swa STO in the next 3 and i see him also scoring.

If he plays the chances are he'll get 1 or 2 but could get 7.

There's no point taking -4 for a def to feilf 11 imho.

Nope. Benteke seems fixture proof. Arsenal's defence is pretty abysmal.

Not if it was a one week punt. if I got any indicator Sagna was out for a while I might consider. GW29 blank is a problem too.

Medium term they're OK. The defence isn't brilliant but somehow they are quite high up on the CS table because they control possession against small teams. Just about the value really.

The point you make regards possession is important,if as they should dominate midfield, Villas attacking opportunities will be limited.

    Hello all!

After being busy since DGW Sunday just gone, I find myself with 1FT and basically no idea what to do with it. I haven't really kept up to date with most injury news, so if someone could be kind enough to answer a few of these questions it would be a huge help!

1.) Any news on Gouffran and whether or not he will play/is fit to play?
2.) Shaw & Demel. Will they play? (I'm sure this one is not as obscure as the first!) 😀
3.) Best replacements for Enrique & Sturridge?

    Thanks all in advance! 😉

Have Begovic, Federici, Davies,Dawson, Martin, Debuchy and B. Jones. Very reluctant to double up on any of those teams.

For Jones plus 0.9 m please pick :

    A. Caldwell
    B. O'Shea (Cuellar not nailed on. O'Neill went with just O'Shea and bramble of FF defenders last GW).
    C. Clye
    D. Hill

    or please suggest another.

    Cheers 😉

How can I sort this defence out

    Zabaleta Demel Pearce Davies Dawson

When I have already done Gerrard > Bale and Suarez > RVP already for a four point hit

How many outfield players do you have from ARS/EVE/MCI/WIG/MUN/WHM/CHE/FUL then? With those missing out in GW29 and us having 3 FTs to play with, I guess more than 6 means you need to take a hit.

Even if you're on 6 you'll only have 11 without hits with no-one on the bench. Slightly worrying.

Yeah if you go on a roll in the previous weeks one bad week is worth it. If you ride it out you'll be better prepared for the eventual DGW too.

I am actually wondering if taking a low score from that DGW might be worth it if it helps you load up massively for the mother of all DGWs.

With Krul out do people expect Southampton to be on for a decent score? An upbeat Saints attack versus a shaky Newcastle defence minus their regular keeper must surely mean so.

Anyone know anything of Rob Elliott the reserve keeper?
