Our weekly regular takes a look at the goings-on in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL), as we highlight the top performers in the Scout league so far and cast an eye over the transfer activity heading into tomorrow morning’s deadline:

Kelvin Travers keeps his spot at the top after a 48 point haul in the previous Gameweek. Gareth Bale and Rickie Lambert both returned double figures, while Robin Van Persie also chipped in with an eight point armband haul – Kelvin sits in second place in the overall standings on 1801 points.

Tucked in behind is Paul Van de Kerkhof, after racking up 56 points last time out. Captain Van Persie and Bale were joined by Rafael and Moussa Sissoko as Paul climbed to fifth overall, with a score of 1778 points – unlike Kelvin, Paul still has a wildcard in hand to boost his chances.

Sanjeev Karki moves to third, courtesy of a 66 point haul in Gameweek 27. He handed Santi Cazorla the armband and was rewarded with a 30 point return, while Bale, Carlos Tevez and Mathieu Debuchy all helped him move to sixth overall on 1773 points.

Sitting in fourth spot is Dan Jones, who returned 39 points last weekend. Bale and Lambert were his key performers, Van Persie and Leighton Baines produced an assist apiece, though captain Theo Walcott stumbled at home to Villa. Nevertheless, Dan still sits in tenth position overall, with 1765 points to his name already.

Marcus Blomlof completes the top five. Bale, Lambert and Sissoko all produced double figures, while Baines and Van Persie helped him register 49 points in Gameweek 27, enough to take him to eleventh overall on 1765 points.

Thanks to the efforts of our top five, the Fantasy Football Scout league sits at the top of the best leagues. An average of 1776.4 points keeps us 11 points ahead of our nearest challengers, which happens to be the FFS Members league – Julian Ziparro not only leads the way there, he is also number one in the overall standings after a 54 point haul in Gameweek 27. Bale, Baines, Lambert, Van Persie and Patrice Evra all chipped in as he moved to 1805 points.

For the contributors, Mark still remains at the top, in spite of a 37 point return last time out – captain Van Persie, Baines and Bale were his key performers.

Market Trends

Rickie Lambert has proven the most popular player this Gameweek. Having registered returns in each of his last three, the Southampton striker now welcomes QPR to St Mary’s – he’s been snapped up by over 83,000 Fantasy managers. Gareth Bale is not far behind as Tottenham prepare for Sunday’s north London derby; over 67,000 have acquired the Welshman after six goals in his last four.

Liverpool pair Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have made their way onto plenty radars. Over 59,000 have acquired the Uruguayan, though the 20,000 who have purchased Sturridge will be hoping he can shake off the knock revealed by Brendan Rodgers yesterday. Moussa Sissoko’s exploits have persuaded 40,000 to snap up the Newcastle midfielder, while Michu has been welcomed into 28,000 new teams following his blank last time out.

At the back, United duo David De Gea (7,000) and Rafael (42,000) have proven the most popular for keepers and defenders, despite the fact they currently have a blank Gameweek 29 on their agenda. Jose Enrique’s exploits against Swansea in his previous appearance have earned the Liverpool left-back almost 15,00 new owners, while Nathaniel Clyne and Seb Bassong have also picked up plenty new suitors, with 8,000+ transfers in apiece.

In terms of trades out, Robin Van Persie is head and shoulders above anyone else. The United forward has been shifted from over 67,000 teams, though today’s news that he is now fit for the weekend visit of Norwich is likely to slow down the sales. Faith in Arsenal seems to have taken a slump – Theo Walcott has racked up more sales (48,000) than any midfielder, while Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud have both been traded in by 28,000 managers, perhaps with the Gunners’ blank Gameweek 29 in mind.

Doubts over Marouane Fellaini and Kevin Nolan have persuaded 41,000 and 19,000 to part company with the pair, while Juan Mata has also seen significant sales, with 17,000 moving on the Chelsea midfielder, perhaps as a way to free up funds for Bale. Robert Huth’s three-match suspension has resulted in 14,000 sales, though faith in Stoke’s defence is clearly lessening – Ryan Shawcross has been sold on by 12,000 due to a run which has seen the Potters concede in each of their last nine. Marc Wilson has attracted interest as expected, but to this point, less than 6000 managers have brought in 3.9 the left-back.

Yeah agreed it's pretty close. Probably Vidic in there too if he ever gets fit, he's been alright the last few games. I wanted to put Clichy there but there are too many United fans here 😉

tbf though Evra has had a good season. Some "competition" has given him a real kick up the Butt...ner.

Don’t know what to do with Pog. He is always my 3rd sub, but i could do with a decent reserve. Got 0.2 in the bank and only 1FT with this team:-

    Beg, Jaask
    Baines, Rafeal, Davies, Harte, Onouha
    Fellaini, Walcott, Michu, Bale, Mata,
    RVP, Suarez, Pog

    my team for this week

    Mignolet
    Zabaleta JEvans Davies
Michu Mata Bale (C) Walcott (VC)
    RVP Sturridge Lambert

Bench: Reina – Snodgrass – Wilkinson – Pearce

    A) Do notthing save FT, may sell RVP next week if United beats Real
    B) Wilkinson to Wilson in case Evans doesnt play
    C) RVP to Suarez
    D) Other ideas?

so people with RvP and a FT, what are you doing. My team is still a bit meh this week

RvP still may not play, Pog won't, Sturridge may not, Fellaini may not, Pearce may not. But next week will be hell and having 2 FTs could be big.

    😥

I am now torn between my original plan of moving RVP to Suarez, and moving Fellaini to Sissoko. I think I'm still going to move RVP, but it just feels so wrong. This is week 2 of a badddd 3 week stretch.

In a similar position but without the Sturridge worry (have Suarez). Still think I'll do RVP -> Lambert. Don't think RVP will start this week and it's looking likely 29 will be a blank.

The ideal would be to upgrade Pog to someone useful but I doubt many have the funds for that.

          I'm .1 short of that!

I'm trying to convince myself that the funds raised by selling RVP would strengthen the squad elsewhere to compensate for his possible absence until the end of the season.

He plays best when alongside Kos. Merts is a great anticipator and so wins a lot of headers, but Verm is rarely watching his back in the same way Kos does.

Yeah he was decent in the first few games bu for someone soo tall he has no aerial presence. He moves out of the way of shots and like you said, is incredibly slow. His positional awareness is good, that's about it.

No not at all. Walker hasn't had a good game yet this season and Benny's not back to his best and I'm not convinced his best is all that good anyway. (He's a hero as a guy but I think that means we overlook his flaws sometimes).

I think you're getting grass is greener on the other side syndrome there Mac, most of the league apart from United and City would kill to have fullbacks as capable as yours. Walker has looked a beast going forward as ever and is strong defensively too. 5 assists and a bunch of clean sheets this season tells its own story IMO. Benny is a case of what if, but last year he was a standout.

No sorry Walker's been rubbish. He's alright going forward and has been taking corners (badly). He still could come good again only young after all. He's been at fault for such a worrying proportion of our goals just through falling asleep and making silly errors. Really need some back-up/competition in that position.

Hope this Walker turns up for the derby then.

Consider him our Sagna, except with attacking threat.

Agree with you again. Walker is defensively poor and relies on his speed to get himself out of trouble.

        Vertonghen and Dawson are great.
Caulker has potential to be great soon too
Kaboul and Gallas are great bench warmers

        Nice array

so im 80 pts behind my rival. ive got sturridge,RVP and fellaini all potentially missing. can handle 1 being out as i was struggling who to put as sub anyway.

both if the other 2 are out it would leave me with debuchy and pearce as my subs.

just thinking is it worth a hit?

I much prefer this tbh. Might not be what the forum is for but most football forums are either team specific or full of trolls and blind rage. Nice to have a place where we can chat about multiples without flaming.
        Any specific FPL queries?

      My current team:
      Bego
      Rafael, Martin, Cameron, Enrique
      Mata, Michu, Fellaini, Sissoko, Walcott
      RVP

Subs: Bunn, Kenwyne Jones, Lukaku, Shaw
0.3 in the bank, 2 FT

Not really trusting RVP will do much even if he ends up starting though could do with the ££ (selling @13.7), what do you think?:

      A) Lambert+Sturridge in for Jones+RVP (initial plan, but seems Sturridge not playing)
      B) Lambert+Benteke in for Jones+RVP
      C) Lambert+Suarez (prob is he’s no differential in my league)
      D) ?

GW29 > Wanted Gerrard in for Fellaini (A/B) or Walcott (C)

Who to sell to accommodate Bale.....Punch or Fellaini?

      A. Punch should feature n GW 29 even if only for 30 mins, and he probably will start against QPR. I will be getting Lambert as well so will be doubling up on Saints.
      B. Fellaini won't play in GW29 but could do well against Reading assuming he is fit. Yet I may want him back for the subsequent double GW. I'm edging towards tossing a coin here...help!

Who to sell A or B?

        I am debating that:

        Fellaini - Sissoko
        Pog - Remy

Giving me coverage over RVP and Sturridge.

Bu then who would i bench (other mids are: Theo/Bale/Mata/Michu)

How to solve the Pog problem?

He is always my 3rd sub, but i could do with a decent reserve. Got 0.2 in the bank and only 1FT with this team:-

      Beg, Jaask
      Baines, Rafeal, Davies, Harte, Onouha
      Fellaini, Walcott, Michu, Bale, Mata,
      RVP, Suarez, Pog

      Any suggestions?

selling Baines would free up a lot of cash. If you want a playing sub you may want to ship Fellaini and get ALF or Remy

I've tried to avoid RMTs recently and just ask a question about a specific move. But this week I've got so many issues that I'm actually lost, so if you were me, what would you do?

      Migs

      Rafa, Zaba, Davies

Michu, Bale (c), Mata, Walcott, Fellaini

      RvP, Sturridge

      Bunn, Pearce, Turner, Pog

      0.8 in bank

      Options as i see them

      a) Fellaini to Sissoko (or someone else)
      b) Pearce to Wilson
      c) RvP to Suarez/Lambert
      d) Pog to ALF
      e) Save and hope for the best

        a) Pointless as Fellaini is likely to play this week.
        b) Good transfer and has a game in 29
        c) I've got a feeling RVP will start so I wouldn't recommend this
        d) Not a good long-term option

        I'd do b)
