Having failed to produce any attacking returns in his last three appearances, and with no league fixture on his agenda this weekend, Juan Mata is being sacrificed by significant numbers of Fantasy managers in an attempt to address the conundrum that is Gameweek 29. The Spaniard has been sold on by over 46,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, more than any other player so far but with three home games in four following directly on from his blank (WHM, sou, SUN, TOT), the potential for points is just around the corner. In this latest article for members, we take a look at his recent displays to ascertain whether there is any reason behind his current malaise.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

The 1995 Honda Civic is stolen more often than any other car in America, according to the NICB.

just compared remi to benteke in the comparison tool, in the hope of saving enough money for next week to bring rvp.

Remy has played 3 games, and scored 2 goals. What more do you want?

I'm in the same boat, as I did the exactly same thing as you, and discovered Benteke had the better stats. But take into account that QPR are riding on a win from last week, and Villa have barely had a shot in their last 2 games.

Plus, Remy was a bargain at 6.0. He then scored on his debut, blanked against City and then scored last week. And is now 5.7. How is he not even better value than before?

Remy scores mostly with his head but he plays with a team that get everyone behind the ball and don't deliver decent crosses in open play. If Redknapp starts to play Fabio then maybe.

I think the Football Ramble podcast was mentioned on here sometime last week. This week, it's worth listening to, for the profile at the end of Steve Savidan, a French cult footballing hero. A true story of triumph over adversity, filled with equal measures of joy and sadness.

Hi lads - please bear with me, I'd really appreciate a few opinions on this. 🙂

    Current team for GW29:

    Federici (AVL)
Enrique (TOT) / Davies (wba) / Clyne (nor) / Cameron (new)
Michu (wba) / Bale *C* (liv) / Puncheon (nor)
Sturridge (TOT) / Cisse *V* (STO) / Lambert (nor)

Mignolet (qpr) / Mata / Walcott / Demel

Was going to save my FT for next week. Have comfortably enough for Cisse -> RVP next week. However, I'm now also keen on upgrading Sturridge -> Suarez sometime soon. I wouldn't have enough funds to do both, and I'm therefore considering Mata -> Sissoko.

Does it make sense to do that move this week, and bench Cameron, or would it be better to wait a week, go with Cameron and then reconsider whether I should do Mata out?

Tricky... if you have enough for RVP next week, is that part of 2 transfers or is it a straight upgrade? If it's a straight upgrade and you're set on it, can you do Sturridge --> Suarez this week and take a -4 to get RVP (or Rooney) next week?

I think you kept Sturridge for a reason over Suarez and that hasn't changed other than Sturridge being missing last week which has made people nervy. Fact is, Sturridge should start on Sunday.

It would be a straight upgrade - so yes, in theory, would you suggested would work.

You're right though - I think Sturridge should play, so it's better to wait on it, probably.

If Sissoko is tempting you and Puncheon isn't nailed on, how would you feel about:

          Puncheon --> Sissoko

Then getting Rooney next week instead of RVP? Keen? Downside is it gives you a benching headache most weeks.

Hmm... Not really, tbh, I'm still set on RVP over Rooney - he's top dog these days. Also still like the idea of a cheap mid, and just hoping Puncheon starts!

Can see why others would be tempted, but it's not for me, thanks for the suggestion though 🙂

If owning suarez is your plan for the long term, and I see no reason why it shouldn't be, then go for the mata -> sissoko move this week.

However, I'd hang on until the mist clears regarding the missing fixtures... (and sissoko's game tomorrow)

      Sissoko plays this week,
has decent fixtures to the end of the season.
      Is ON form,
is little or no rotation risk
and leaves a lot of budget to be used to your advantage elsewhere in your team.

Whilst I think this was an excessive ban, was reduced on appeal, football should take note. Footballers seem to be able to abuse refs without fear of punishment, this is a deterrent alright.

Kamara's a striker; no room for him. Norwich's fixtures are good pretty much the whole rest of the year, and while he hasn't been great lately, Snodgrass has put up good stats against bad teams, and was very productive earlier in the year.

Difficult. I'd edge Bale as he may get enough room away to terrorise the pool defence.

2-2 with a bale brace is the absolute best you can expect.
