We’re down to just 64 teams in Paddy Power Members Cup, as Gameweek 28 saw another round of managers fall by the wayside.

Former winner “Fuzzy Dunlop” remains in the mix, edging his way through to the fourth round with a narrow 75-72 victory over “Stills”. The community juggernaut that is “Evs” also rolls on – ranked 14th in the world, he disposed of his third round opponent, “ff addict” by a convincing 81-66 scoreline. As for the contributors, Paul remains in the hat, cruising to a 64-52 victory over “Schnitzengrubens”.

With a decimated Gameweek 29 providing the next round of matches, we could see some upsets next time around. The draw for the fourth round will be published tomorrow afternoon.

  Nice team. Not sure how nailed-on Coutinho is, unfortunately. For Pools sake I hope he can nail down a midfield spot ahead of Henderson or Allen. More dynamic, daesn't lose the ball as much with a great turn of pace and eye for a pass and a goal. 🙂

  I think I'd prefer to get to 9 or 10 with a hit and use the wildcard for the double gameweeks, but that's your decision to make. You won't have any attackers with double gameweeks with that team, so I don't know if you'll be able to get the full complement you'd want in time when they come.

    I have to say that I align myself more in your side of the court... I agree that it is more fun when more points are on offer...
    
    It obviously doesn't have the best players yet, but the MLS fantasy game has shown that stats based bonus allocation for individual performance is a great way to provide bonus... I think this has the potential to replace the Bonus Point system in place right now... obviously it will ruffle a few feathers but people need to be open minded...
    
    I know it comes from a place where stats are everything, and people might relate it to the "Moneyball" idea which hasn't gone down too well in this country, but for the purposes of FPL. I think it would be a great addition... you can't argue with the individual acquiring these BPs since it is absolutely what they deserve...
    
    Obviously, this is not what is happening at FPL this year with OPTA... I just wanted to let you know that this is what I'd consider doing if I had the chance to improve it myself...

      Fair point, I'm not against adding things to the points system at all. I was just trying to argue why the assist rules make the game more fun and why I would hate to see it changed even if some assists seem a bit of a stretch.
      
      I don't see why the BPs as they are can't be kept too alongside this idea you have about other styles of BPs.
      
      You can't deny that the BPs are fantastic as an idea even if the reward system is flawed. There's a great deal of excitement and anticipation/suspense about the baps that make the game that bit more entertaining and fun 😀

        Yeah I realise I went off on a bit of a tangent there talking about BP allocation...
        
        In terms of the assist rule, I would not be against amalgamating it with the old rule...
        
        I would actually like to see the potential for 2 players to awarded an assist if it is deemed that they both had a say in the goal...
        
        For example, a lot of corners are taken only for the defender who flicks it on in the slightest to be awarded the assist... I'd like to see both the corner taker and the defender being awarded with that assist... or even introduce a system whereby the defender gets 3pts for it being the last touch, and the corner taker gets 2pts for the second last touch... but this would only apply in situations like this... it would not reward the modric "assisting the assister" type player...
        
        I agree that removing all rewarded assists down to the clear cut through balls and killer passes, would ruin our enjoyment of the game... it's those lucky touches that make or break our weekend H2Hs or mini league position...
        
        Overall... more points = more joy...

So i just logged on UCL fantasy to check my score, while looking at that i saw the little box on the right where the assistant manager was suggesting me to take Nani out for Lahm 😯 , obviously i tried dragging Lahm into the pitch to try and replace for Nani... and it was not possible obviously, but after that i clicked on the link on the end of the assistant manager suggestion saying "make substituion", surprisingly this happened and stayed like this after i saved the tranfers:

    i don't know if the glitch has something to do with the fact that United have already been eliminated but the suggestion from the assistant manager was referring to the fact that Nani had been eliminated from the competition, and there was no reference in there from the red card of course...

Is everyone still convinced Van Persie is worth it? One goal in last 7 games. Poor in both legs in CL. Maybe the pressure of Man Utd expectations is getting to him. Arsenal were usually content to get 4th whereas the United expecations are League and CHampions League.

  Well I think one of Rooney or RVP is definitely worth it. The debate between them will continue and there's no doubt Rooney is offering excellent value when he's not injured.
  
  Man Utd score the most goals so there's a lot of points there.
  
  I have to agree though, RVP's form has dipped quite a bit and I think he will be full of regret right now about how he played over those 2 legs. He just didn't get in the game enough and that chance he fluffed in the away leg could have been the difference.

  I like B, I've really talked myself into Snodgrass as a great option for the next couple weeks, despite his/Norwich's pretty pathetic form. Also from looking at Chelsea's fixtures, I think there's a reasonable chance Mata will be rested AGAIN against West Ham, although I'll be sticking with him.

        Can I ask as I haven't been on FFS much to catch up the latest wagons and trends. Why are people selling RvP? I don't suppose the drop in value being the main reason but there are also others among. Although I can understand if it's because of they can't sit still with 14m on the bench.
        
        On topic, I think everybody will share similar fantasy score with almost the same number and value of players, with the only difference being the punts and gambles. Of course, as you said, captaincy.

  I heard 35m. As a United fan I would be unimpressed if he is sold. In many ways, Rooney is Man United. It would certainly be a bad way to get Ronaldo in if thats the intension. Half the reason Ronaldo will want to come back is probably to link up with Rooney again.
