The draw for the first round of the 2019/20 FFS Cup FFS Cup

There was a major shock in the Members Cup Fourth Round last weekend, as world number 15 and site regular Evs tasted defeat at the hand of Rodallega Bombs. His conqueror has form, though, and sits just inside the top 1500 so far this term. Elsewhere, former winner Fuzzy Dunlop is still in the mix after winning 62-54, Diz was the round’s highest scorer with 72 points earning him a place inside the top 500 overall, while Paul continues to fly the flag for the Contributors. We’re sorting out the draw for the last 32 behind the scenes and should have that with you tomorrow..

I *think* this means that Lukaku > Rooney is a good move?

Alternatively could get in Cazorla for the very annoying Puncheon.

    Rooney or Cazorla?

What's the consensus on Mucha of Everton? I know they aren't known for clean sheets this season but he seems like a bargain with a DGW looming.

It would free up cash to be used to bring in better quality DGW attacking players.

Rotates excellently with Bunn/Ruddy from GW31 onwards.

    some thoughts on tonights game;
    1. munich were rubbish tonight, you'd have to question their temperament, very nearly threw that away. could almost rule them out as contenders for the trophy, although anyone can have a bad game i suppose.

    2. arsenal were actually fairly poor tonight too. outside of their much maligned back 4 and fabianski who ALL had good games, nobody else played at all well. yeah you have to hand it to them to keep fighting in trying circumstances (ref was pretty bad), and this result will give them some pride back, but they're not a great team and need a pretty major overhaul IF they want to improve.

    3. arsenal fans should be reasonably pleased getting to the last 16 and competing for 4th in premiership. that's not that bad a place to be all in all, from a disgruntled villa fan's perspective at least

Agreed, I didn't think we deserved to win 2-0. It was a strange game. We really didn't create enough chances, if Bayern had their shooting boots on they could have scored a fair few.

Positives - Koscielny, easily our best CB, he has to start from now on. Jenkinson gave another solid, committed performance aswell. Unfortunately for me (Szczesny owner) Fabianski was solid.

As for Bayern, can't see them winning this competition.

See I agree with most of what you say here, but I think we might be too quick to question Bayern too. They were not very good going forward but they still looked to be in total control all game defensively. Arsenal also did well defensively but only really managed one great chance apart from the goals.

For me they're not the main favorites to win the tournament, but that comes down to weaker players rather than mental problems imo. Compared to Barcelona and probably Real Madrid, that is.

It was a poor game yes. Our first goal came literally from a defensive slip and the second from a set piece, which implies one.

Happiness is about what you get relative to expectations. With the squad we had in 2005 and the resources I expected far more than we have got. Many, many mistakes have been made along the way, Wigan fans for example can be happy with just staying up because they are not expected to do better. But let's say Chelsea had a run like ours - there's no point telling their fans that they're doing better than 88 other clubs in the football league. They will be disappointed.

that game was pretty much a 4-1 bayern win type of game except they missed the 4 chances and arsenal took pretty much every chance they had. it reminded me of liverpool v west brom a few weeks ago, liverpool completely bossed the game but lost 0-2.

I've said this before but I'm so sick of DGWs this year. Just when you get your team looking all lovely, ones strikes!

He's close to nailed on I think, especially with Nani out. After Valencia's horror show last weekend I can see Kagawa on the left and Young on the right for a bit. At home I just can't see why Fergie won't start him now, esp after he did so well against Norwich. Fergie will want to give him the chance to kick on and build some momentum, surely?

I've got Maloney in, fancy Wigan to pick-up towards the end of the season, he's cheap and on pens, what's not to like?

yes it is, I had him pencilled in too, and could use him for all these games before the DGW. So we can assume that this move would cost me -4 at some point.

I would do this move 100% if United had beaten Chelsea in the cup cause I had it all planned out for Arse and Everton players. So getting Maloney would cost me -4 if united have a DGW but wont cost me -4 if they dont.

Ah if you have a WC that makes the decision much easier, you have to think who will you drop from your front 8 in the next few weeks to play him though. He's only a 4.8 mid after all.

Lukaku this week vs Stoke away, Sissoko next week vs City away. Not sure who for yet in GW 32. Basically 2 GW player. HMM after all this discussion I might just not get him before the WC for the DGW
