With four of the league’s top five teams enjoying a future date with a double Gameweek, flexibility is going to be key in the next month; finding room for a budget option or two becomes as important as ever.

With Raheem Sterling now “rested” to make way for more senior heads at Anfield and Jason Puncheon dropped for two of the last three Gameweeks, the pool of cheap midfielders has taken a hit of late, giving us every incentive to go on the hunt for new options.

One name that has quietly re-emerged of late is Wigan’s Shaun Maloney – a promising option who looked set to find himself in these pages earlier in the year, only to be inexplicably benched for Jordi Gomez after his hattrick in Gameweek 13 (Gomez followed that ICT index score of 33 with a total of 37 over the next 15 weeks).

Fair point roscola but it was only last week ppl were saying this was one of the worst inter teams in a long time.
Even without bale I would have expected spurs to deal with them better.

It was surprising how different the two legs were. The first leg was a majestic full team performance from Spurs, every single player pressed Inter with maximum passion for every second of the game. Totally different tonight and I'm not sure it was just being Bale-less that did it.

If Chelsea do beat Man United in FA Cup replay and GW33 turns out to be a DGW for both Man United and Arsenal, would you rather have more Arsenal or more Man United players...

I am thinking of going with:
Arsenal: Walcott, Mertesacker (as I already have them) and get Cazorla
Man United: RVP and De Gea... (as I already have them)

Dont think it makes any sense to get more from these teams and also captain RVP...

Any other plannings I need to do before GW33?

Am certainly not defending PKs -- as an American they are absolutely baffling to me. Just looking at ET away goals with scorn: after 180 minutes if the teams are even, they are even. Making some goals more valuable than others at that point seems absurd.

agreed. glad spurs win, but it is a mockery to give one side 90 and the other side 120.

    Walcott, Bale, Sissoko, Michu, Mata
    Sturridge, Lambert, Benteke

I really don't get people complaining that "away goals after normal time is rubbish".

Isn't one of the main points of away goals to counteract the fact that one team may have to play more minutes away from home?

I like them they're a HUGE reason why the knockout stages of the Champions League is regularly the most exciting tournament.

As a Spurs fan I certainly agree with this tonight (and last night)! In all seriousness though, I agree that it certainly makes the ties more exciting and adds another dimension to the matches. The idea that the home team doesn't have an advantage playing the extra time in their own stadium is silly. Whether away goals is a fair trade off for this I'm not sure but I'm in favour of keeping the rule.

"Isn’t one of the main points of away goals to counteract the fact that one team may have to play more minutes away from home?"

so what about other other team?

Its simply about creating a sh1t rule, so that teams have to score more goals rather than play football, creating more goaltainment.
