We now have our Quarter-Finalists for this season’s Members Cup, as the weekend programme narrowed the field further. Those eight who made progress not only keep their name in the hat for this cup, they also guarantee qualification for the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Shield where they will face off against the last eight from this season’s earlier Paddy Power Cup over the final four Gameweeks of the season.

Eunuch Jelly is the name that everyone will want to avoid in the last eight – he is now the highest ranked manager remaining in the tournament, having destroyed Stewport, himself ranked 771st before the weekend. Acquafresca will also fancy his chances – he’s the other manager ranked in the top 1000 to progress. Fuzzy Dunlop is perhaps the manager to look out for, as a former winner of this cup, he’s been there and done it and probably still has his cup final suit.

The draw for the Quarter-Finals, to be played out over Gameweek 32, will be published tomorrow afternoon.

          I'd bench Davies just about.

You need to state the third player (defender) in scenario B as presumably you'll be playing him in the DGW, if you're comparing with Sagna in A?

Evening all! Posted this earlier but I don't think there was many about..

Does that tweet regarding SAF's quotes basically say that Rooney will start most games but RVP won't?

      A) Never trust SAF

      B) I wouldn't say that it means RVP won't start most games - he still will IMO - just that he may start 1 or 2 less than Rooney. 6 starts from here (City, Arsenal, Chelsea + 3 others maybe?)

      Two thoughts:

      1. Could see some truth if Rooney is in the shop window;

      2. RVP will want Golden boot and will feel he's owed-why rest him with adequate time between games?

A (pointless) mind game ahead of the Manchester derby, the result of which really doesn't matter anyway!

No way can I see RVP and Rooney not starting that one. Plus RVP will be given every chance to beat Suarez to the PL top goalscorer title.

United are so prone to rotation throughout, especially given their situation.
Fulham and West Ham don't have the fixtures. I don't even think Riether is worth a -4. Berba might be an exception here.

I'll have good Arsenal cover, and Rooney and DDG and Fellaini, then probably one more. Perhaps Distin over Reither.

united: rvp, rooney, ddg, evra, kagawa

Ok, so i've been really busy the past few weeks with a house move, and find myself with 2 FT's and a Wildcard in tact. When am I best to use the 2FT and WC? I'm really far behind the times..

Only noticeable thing is that I have Michu & Davies with a Blank GW coming up, and a load of crappy Reading players.

    Any tips?

Your team is very nice. Use 1 FT to lose Apkan for a cheapish DWWer (maybe Duff as a punt?) Re-asses next week with your 2 FTs. You could maybe take a hit then to get 3 more DGWers of your choice and save your WC for DGW36.

Brilliant, thanks for the quick response.

Akpan> Duff does look like my best option with the budget available.

I suppose the WC is either 33 or 36. Although I have just noticed the choice is Wigan or Swansea? Don't fancy Wigan much, and Swansea appear to have Man City.. so maybe just maybe WC pre-33 is a good option ? Unless I end up offloading DGW'ers for the final few weeks.. hmm

I reckon Wally will surely drop. Fellaini has farther to go, and as soon as the GW32 deadline passes the flag will lift and Fellaini's price will freeze I think. So he needs something like -12,000 by 11:00 on Saturday, and he only dropped 3000 today.

            Could well be!

I'd prefer RVP over Rooney if getting one, purely because of trying to finish top goalscorer and pens.

Presumably Sturridge will be back in the Liverpool team for home games, switching Suarez to LAM? Should affect his FPL returns I would've thought.

Benteke has Fulham at home and Lambert has West ham at home. I don't really want to lose them for that

I've held onto RVP all along so still have him.

Would be feeling pretty nervous about going a DGW without him.

what would you do with this squad?

    Begovic 3.9
    Evans Zabaleta Demel Davies Harte
    Walcott Cazorla Bale Sissoko Maloney
    RVP Suarez Lambert

what shall i do with my free?

    a) get rid of bego for a dgwk keeper
    b) evans out?
    c) harte out?
    d) sissoko out for fellaini/pienaar
    e) Lambert to berbatov
    f) bank FT
    e)

Evening lads. Thoughts on Henderson (keep reading..) as a 5th mid option who I'll play vs Reading in the DGW33? It will facilitate both RVP and Rooney up top.

He's hardly a Cazorla, but is a box-to-box midfielder so will get chances and judging by the goal vs Villa, will stay composed when presented with one. At 4.9m, seems very good value for the next 3 gameweeks.

The alternative approach, is to fill the 5th midfield spot with a big hitter such has Hazard, and go with Anichebe as a 3rd striker in a 352, occasional 343 formation.

    Strategies welcome.

Townsend is a better bet imo. Even Maloney has set pieces to fall back on. You could do worse than Henderson but i'd personally prefer 1 of the 2 mentioned..

*goes to check who Wigan are playing in GW33*

I like Henderson in the away games, and think he's finding his feet now with Liverpool.

Not keen on Townsend, but Maloney is the percentage pick, I agree. Trouble is, a couple of ML rivals (who I'm trying to catch), have him already.

He is much improved and Brendan seems to like him. I think he's a better option than Anichebe over the next 3.
However I wouldn't compromise my team enough (by getting Roon + RVP) to even consider getting Hendo.
Can you not lose one of them and upgrade Hendo to a bigger MF hitter?

It's purely a decision for the DGW and Villa in GW34 should the DGW go well. I don't mind biasing my squad short term, then will offload one for the run in.

Interesting thoughts on Anichebe. If Moyes keeps this 3-5-2 (a formation that suits Everton's players IMO), then he should be a regular up with Jelavic with Miralles in behind. Or are they not lining up that way?

my strategy is never to nominate a 5th mid or 3rd striker. a fluid front eight is the only way i play this game. drop the guy with worst fixture and/or form

Me too, but I tend to band players as some (Bale, Mata/Hazard, Cazorla, etc.) are capable home or away, but I'll leave a group of 2 or 3 to rotate on the bench. I've benched Michu successfully on occasion, for example.

I’m not sure whether I should Wildcard in 33 or 36….

I can have this for -8 in GW33.

    de Gea*.
    Mertesacker*, Clichy, Pearce/Wilson.
    Cazorla*, Walcott*, Fellaini*, Townsend.
    RVP*, Rooney*, Berba*.

Take the hit and save the wildcard for 36, or use the wildcard in 33?

I'd save the WC for GW36.

Also would be very wary about getting rid of Lambert and Suarez for GW33 for hits.

That's a fine looking DGW team.
