Our weekly look at the goings-on in the Sky Sports game is rolled out again this afternoon. As always, we cast an eye over the Scout League’s main protagonists, where the leader made significant ground in his quest for the overall crown last weekend. We also analyse the recent trends in the transfer market and check in with Fenners and Merse ahead of tonight’s fixture with the Fantasy Football Club.

The Scout League

With his top spot threatened last week,Chris Pearce turned in a storming performance to sprint away from the chasing pack. Chris’ side “UtakaDefoeKingPearce” was just 13 points clear at the summit prior to the weekend’s fixtures but is now 45 points ahead of Paul McAnulty in the race for the Scout League title. Paul’s “Housewives Favourite” is a further 31 points ahead of Chris Tuck’s third-placed “Vuvuzela Symphony”, while Simon Davis’ “Nags Head Rovers” and Pascal Evans’ pair of Covport teams are tucked in just behind.

Chris Pearce’s Gameweek not only helped establish a solid lead over the rest of the Scout League, it boosted his chances of finishing first in the overall standings. Although Chris remains third overall, he is now just 37 points behind Simon Ward at the summit in the race for the Sky Sports crown and £25,000 top prize – having approached last weekend some 85 points behind Ward, he’s clearly picking up momentum at the right time.

The Scout League now have seven managers in the overall top 20 rankings – as a result, we remain the top Private League on show, extending our lead from 10 to 15 points over our nearest rival.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can still sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.

Market Trends

Five goals in his last four appearances has made Dimitar Berbatov the most sought-after player in the Sky Sports game this week. With a double Gameweek just around the corner, the 7.5 priced Fulham forward has been party to 5.12% of all transfers in ahead of Sunday’s trip to Newcastle – over the last five weeks, the Bulgarian has racked up 31 points, the third highest tally of any player.

Gareth Bale was second most popular prior to last night’s turn of events at White Hart Lane. The Welshman had been subject to 4.94% of all transfers made but, having been stretchered off against FC Basel with an ankle injury, is almost certainly out of this weekend’s home clash with Everton and has a blank Gameweek 33 to follow.

With a home game against West Ham on Sunday afternoon, Liverpool duo Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard are amongst the top five transfer targets this week. Suarez has racked up more points (45) than any player in the last five Gameweeks and, while Gerrard is fifth for this respective statistic over the featured period, his 28 points is greater than any midfielder.

Robin Van Persie, on the other hand, has been the third most unpopular player ahead of the Manchester derby. Only the suspended Marouane Fellaini and injured Theo Walcott have been sold on by more managers, with the Dutchman part of 5.62% of all transfers out. While Van Persie’s recent goal drought is clearly an issue, his owners still had plenty faith as United rolled up to Sunderland last Saturday lunchtime – over 23% handed him the armband, with Suarez second most popular captaincy pick (9%) and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard (6%) further back in third.

The Fantasy Football Club – Tonight 10pm

Chris Coleman is the guest on tonight’s edition of the Fantasy Football Club. The Wales boss joins Fenners and Merse from 10pm on Sky Sports One, with a certain Tottenham winger’s ankle injury sure to be discussed.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

If you already have Cazorla and you are looking to ship Bale, I'd say the best option is Silva.

You want someone that will (a) do well over the next two games and (b) you can keep thereafter so you don't waste another transfer later on. He's the only one that fits the bill, for me.

The Chelsea midfielders are prone to rotation, their fixtures are also bad. Yes, Silva has United but he could do well against them and then he has Wigan in GW33 plus a DGW to come.

      just done Bale ---> Toure

To free up some cash to bring in DDG and Merte for DGW. I think Toure is a good shout as he is cheap, always plays and always has some involvement. His part in the derby will be key for city

Next two yes, but longer term, when you take rotation into consideration, I fancy Silva to outperform Hazard. We only have 8 transfers left so each one is precious. I don't want to be bringing in players that I would be eventually taking out.

untill now i take only 4pts hit in season and 3 of them were cause of injurred players

but since i did Bale ➡ Hazard this gw next gw i will need to take 4pts hit for sure

my team dosn't look promising and i will strugle to finissh in top 1k i think

    front 8 of

    Mata,Hazard,Cazorla,Sissoko (Walcott)
    Sturridge,Suarez,Giroud

think i will be good for this gw and i hopefully walcott will recover for dgw but after that my team will be totaly messed up

trying to spread my hits for the DGW by taking 4 this week and 4 next... Thing is with money etc. this week consists of Fellaini and Baines in for Bale and Clark... Obviously Fellaini cant play, but Baines will. is that worth a 4 pointer with the DGW coming?

Then next week bring in DDG and Berba for Bego and Sturridge...

    All sound good?

It does feel weird taking a hit for someone not playing that week - but if it's happening anyway, then it doesn't make a difference. And presumably you can't afford to do just Baines anyway. So you're getting an extra week of Baines by doing it this week rather than next. So it's the right thing to do. (if I've understood right)

So what is the general consensus as to the best replacement for Bale for this gameweek and the dgw?

    Arteta?
    Gervinho?

    Other?

If either of them two are the consensus, this place has gone barmy!

From what I've heard, most are going with Hazard/Gerrard in for Bale if they already have Cazorla.

I'm having a real headache at the back this week, a few players with potential cleano's in them....

Current starting 3 are Zab, Wilson and Mert.

I have Shaw and Davies on the bench.

Can anyone shed some light on whether I'm starting the correct 3?

    Much appreicated chaps.

I fancy Zaba only due to his attacking potential, as rare as that attacking potential is I'd still be worried about benching a 6.1m defender vs. Davies.

Do agree with you Jafooli about the CS this year, really has been a season for the attackers.

    Good afternoon chaps.

Yes, I have jumped on the Bale>Hazard bandwagon. (only cos I can't resist taking hits)...

So who do I bench? Michu or Townsend. Ouch

    DDG Blank
    Baines Jose Monreal (Mariappa, Davies)
Hazard Santi Sissoko (*play Michu or Townsend?)
    Rooney Suarez Berba

    5.5 in bank

Many thanks and good luck all on the National!

Depends for how long...Mata is a genius and is the better prospect long term...but Hazard is more nailed on for this GW as he was basically rested against Rubin Kazan.

Perhaps.. wonder if he'll fall much if everyone is taking him out today though ..

Will his flag be changed tomorrow, on the basis he should be available for City game and if so, he is price protected.

I suspect he will remain flagged right up until the City game. Most people I suspect will ditch this week, so I doubt he'll drop much at all in price, maybe 0.3 total (ie 0.1 tonight, 0.1 tomorrow night and 0.1 in the following week)

    Hey Guys,

    Is it worth doing:

Bale+Harte to Gerrard and Mertesacker ? (or is it better to get coutihno?) (-4)

    next week:
Cameron + Sessegnon to Fellaini and Baines (-4)

This will give me 8 DGW players.

Any suggestions? mayvbe hazard(rotation risk) instead of Gerrard ?

I am 20 pts behind 1st place in my league and he is losing at least 4pts on transfers this week

    Any help is appreciated
