That’s it, the deadline has passed and all we can do now is sit back and enjoy. Whether this gameweek, or indeed this Saturday can go anywhere near replicating the exhilaration we had last week, we start with a game of huge significance.

It’s the second Manchester derby of the season, and with just a dozen or so games left in the season, a win for United will probably end City’s title ambitions, whereas the reverse will blow it wide open. A draw seems likely (I’m going for a United win, obviously), but let’s just hope it easily betters their previous meeting at Eastlands. Either way, enjoy the action as it unfolds in our Dugout Discussion Chatroom.

The build-up has already started on the telly and, more importantly than Dwight Yorke’s poor effort with his usually dazzling attire, the team sheets from Old Trafford are in, and the big news is that top-scorer Dimitar Berbatov is dropped to the bench…

Man Utd XI: VDS, O’Shea, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, Scholes, Anderson, Nani, Giggs, Rooney

Man City XI: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Zabaleta, Milner, Barry, Silva, Yaya Toure, Kolarov, Tevez

A five-man midfield is not just bad news for the neutrals hoping for an open game, but critically for those fantasy managers that held onto Berbatov. Elsewhere, fantasy bargain Rafael is benched for the incoming John O’Shea, and Chris Smalling partners Nemanja Vidic in defence as expected. City once again utilise Aleksander Kolarov on the left in midfield.

Once the dust has settled in Manchester, we have six 3pm fixtures to enjoy, before Tottenham travel to Sunderland in our evening game.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

        Yeah I agree.

RVP captain could turn to be essential, but I still won't forgive myself to bench Nani 😛

Not only have I not captained RVP, I risked not even having him in my team. All I can do now is pray Wenger rests him the next game, just to give a chance of clawing some points back... all my rivals have RVP(c) 🙁

I simply cannot understand how you wouldn't bring in Van Persie on a hit, given the amount of points you were liable to lose.

No-one could be surprised that he got a couple of goals today.

Watching the WBA v. WHU game and WHU haven't been that bad. WBA took their early chances well but WHU also hit the woodwork twice. Not glances, but solid thumps. WHU are on the up and I can see WBA losing this ...

(currently 3-2 and Piquionne has just hit the bar)

Cahill will rise .2 before the next gameweek with all of the people transferring Arse/purs mids out.

A.Young is not worth a punt. Get Bent instead.

I will never have a ManU defender unless Ferdinand is healthy.

I transferred Foster for Szesny this gameweek. Every time I had Foster, he would get a clean sheet against a team I didn't think he would do well and had him on my bench. Will rise wih Szesny the rest of the season.

Have a feeling Defoe will do well this gameweek.

Credit where it's due, United looked good in defence today, Smalling was excellent and looks like he could be the real deal.
