Everton and Birmingham’s double fixture in gameweek 29 is under threat if Championship Reading force a replay at Goodison in their fifth round tie with the Toffees.

Everton have confirmed today that if next Tuesday’s tie ends in a draw, the replay would take place at the Madejski Stadium on March 8. That would mean that the Premier League clash with Birmingham at Goodison, currently scheduled for March 9, would be shifted to an as yet unknown date.

Everton currently have that Birmingham fixture and a visit to Newcastle in gameweek 29, promoting their players in our thinking. Tim Cahill has become a key target, although this news, coupled with the recent doubt surrounding his chances of making the weekend encounter with Sunderland, certainly casts doubt over investment before Tuesday’s Cup tie.

Birmingham themselves would of course lose their second fixture, leaving them with a home clash with West Brom in gameweek 29 to follow this week’s blank.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

TM you have changed, once so helpful and now very smug and smart! The horses have already bolted, the guy is just looking for advice, does no good pointing out the obvious just because the "wise" FPL players planned.

JR - Forget your keepers, play without one, you have 8 outfield players which isn't too bad. I would do:

        VDV OUT Cahill IN
        Adam OUT Barton IN
Walcott OUT Young IN if you have the cash for an 8 point hit

Well looks like you'll be taking a point hit.

How about Forster out and Begovic in (after this week Szczesny starts for the next 4 weeks in fav fixtures)

Either Walcott or Adam out for Silva or Cahill in...if you lack the funds maybe Yaya?

      I'm in a similar spot!

The funniest over ever! It was in the final of the C&G Trophy a few years ago, and the guy who bowled it - Scott Boswell - had almost single-handedly won Leicestershire the semi final.

Still working the options; Nolan or Barton at home to Bolton this week? I fear Gutierrez is a punt and with an 8 point hit this week I need a solid team with what little cash I have....

Who are you going for in the Bangladesh-Ireland game tomorrow? I just realised that I can basically chose whoever I like, so it comes down to Tamim vs Shakib.... Favouring Shakib because all rounders/bowlers definitely seem to be the way forward in this game...

I'd definitely go Shakib, but I can't squeeze him in without messing things up. I'm stuck with R Hasan. Bats a bit, does nothing else.

Not well represented in the Aust-NZ game either. Attila seems to have most of the Aussie team and a couple of Kiwis...

Nani, Tevez or Berbatov as captain?

As United are playing twice I'd usually go for Berbatov but not only does he rarely turn up in 'big' games, Rooney is coming back on form. Tevez is a prolific scorer but is obviously playing once and Nani is a great player but scores less than the other two.

god i hope another team in green and white can put rangers away in this second half...

i know they've little chance of reaching the final, but the sooner the gits a re knocked out the better, i don't want any minor chance them fans coming to Dublin- They're quite unwelcome, and from a practical point of view, there'd be f**king murder after the game in the city.

BBC website 1902: Jamie Carragher's coming on for... Martin Kelly. He's got a slight injury problem we hear. He'll be missed going forward. Second half is under way at Anfield. Stay tuned.

At least he won't have to play 120 mins + pens

Did you do that vote thing online RBJ, shows you which parties you are most aligned with http://www.votomatic.ie/Test.aspx

      I'm apparently a Fine Gaeler blueshirt 🙂

      Ps
Not had one knock on the door electioneering, was looking forward to tipping boiling oil out the window on any Fianna Fial or Sinn Feiners 😉

I'm not registered, though I'm pretty sure I can get Irish citizenship now (been here since 1999).
I don't mind Labour, though their vote seems to be slipping away, they were really strong a few months ago.
I'm happy enough if Fianna Fial get absolutely hammered and Sinn Fein don't get into power. Weird how they're not canvassing around here though, have you had many calling round?

had a few, mainly fine gael Told them stag hunt means no vote for fine gael, and im all over the internet telling people about it, and that ive a big big mouth. She wrote it down on her pad 🙂

i think sinn fein deserve a chance as much as anyone mind. theyve some good people in their party. They dont seem to be too sure on their numbers though

hey was wondering if i could get a little help with my team.

    foster/gordon
    djourou/kelly/toure/coleman/rafael
    fabregas/adam/nani/brunt/pedersen
    tevez/campbell/rvp

was gonna do this to make it better.
    howard in for gordon
barton and a young in for brunt and pedersen for a 4 point hit.

not really sure what to do about adam, got a lot of money stored in him. was wondering what people thought.

Some opinions from the experts would be nice.

Already done RVP OUT Tevez IN as my freebie. Haven't taken a hit since GW20 (I'm clean!) and gained 668k places. Still shite ranking (681k) compared to most of you guys but first season so I'm still learning.

    Team for the week:

    Myhill
    Coleman Simpson Bardsley Huth
    A.Young Nani Brunt
    Odemwingie Berbatov Tevez(c)

    Subs: Foster Samba Fabregas Adam

    1. Myhill - I always play Foster so won't take a hit for a 'better' GK for one GW.
    2. Bardsley v. Samba. Both away and both will concede but I prefer a FB to a CB as attacking potential.
    3. Nothing else lights my fire (Rooney, Cahill, Saha IN etc) for the DGWs as it'll just balls up the team for the rest of the season.
    4. I have 12 players available whilst others are taking 12pt hits just to field 11.
    5. It's not the best team in the world but I reckon I'll just go with it.

    Or have I missed something?
