The Gameweek continues with a Monday night encounter under the lights of the Etihad, as Manuel Pellegrini begins his tenure at City with a Premier League clash with Newcastle.

The Chilean’s first team-sheet was much anticipated and, when it arrived, it brought one major surprise. A 4-4-2 looks on the cards with Edin Dzeko rewarded for his strong summer displays with a start up front, although few expected him to be alongside Sergio Aguero. The Argentine missed the entire pre-season but is given the nod ahead of new signing Alvaro Negredo who warms the bench – there is no place for fellow new boy, Stevan Jovetic.

Behind those two, City have David Silva and Jesus Navas prompting from the flanks, with Yaya Toure and Fernandinho screening the back four, whilst no doubt alternating to join the attack. That defence is without Matija Nastasic through injury, so Joleon Lescott earns a start alongside skipper Vincent Kompany, as expected. Gael Clichy is at left-back, while Pablo Zabaleta, fresh from inking new four-year deal, starts on the right.

It’s a daunting task for Alan Pardew’s Magpies who turn up in Manchester without Yohan Cabaye following today’s £10 million bid from Arsenal. Yoan Goufran starts, then, with Jonas Gutierrez presumably shifting to a central role and Mousa Sissoko pushed up in support of striker Papiss Cisse – a 4-2-3-1 looks the likely formation. Mapou Yanga-Mbiwai starts for the injured Davide Santon at left-back, with Steven Taylor keeping his start alongside skipper Fabricio Coloccini.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom has opened up for tonight’s match to cater for those who like some real-time chatter with their evening’s action.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Dismayed to say the least...

    http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/150487/event-history/1/

I have stupidly done Ivan--->Coleman last night. If Clyne and Snod are fit then what is best move..

Hazard --->Silva for -4 (may put Lukaku on bench and play 4 at back)
Lukaku ---> Lambert or Dzeko for -4
    Both for -8

Coleman is a good shout, very attacking, hopefully Everton will tighten up a bit, and he's a season keeper that will rise to around the 6.0m mark I reckon. Good business

I'm leaning towards losing Lukaku, looking like he'll drop before the week's out and I'd rather avoid a drop and improve my team's attackig strengths than grab at a rise on Coleman at this stage of the season. I've got a bit in the bank so will probably go for Sturridge, no rush though.

Having seen both Liverpool and City games.
Coutinho certainly has more potential for points than Silva I'd say. He is more key to their game.
Even Zaba looked a bit less threatening than last year with Navas taking the wing.

Wait and see on all those 9ish midfielders but none have really amazed me (Silva,Hazard,Walcott)

    (I own both)

Newcastle looked awful tonight. Their midfield couldn't pass 5 yards accurately.

RVW only 12 touches in the match and Nor attack is poor, Lambert better option - more central to their attack, on pens fk's.....

Fair. Tiote trying to play passes like Scholes was a little embarrassing. You needed Cabaye in there.

    team is: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/69718/history/

    Am I doing:

    A. Ivanovic ---> Zabaleta and have 1M in the bank to deal with Lukaku afterwards.
    B. Ivanovic ---> Collins and then before GW3 Mert & Lukaku ---> Coleman & Aguero (if no price rises/drops)
    C. simply Ivanovic ---> Coleman as it was planned and have 2M in the bank for the later moves

    ?

Should have scored a dozen, played well overall, missed lots, some well saved. Stayed on for the full 90.
