The draw for the second round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, has been made and the 128 fixtures can be viewed right here. As you’ll see, the draw has thrown out some interesting match-ups…

There are plenty of candidates for the glamour tie of the round, such as Anorak Vs. Dirty_Harry, jms Vs. gooner dave and Keith Vs. Voronin is gone… to name a few. In a big tie for the second round in a row is greghammer95 who has been drawn against hello 911 it’s quagmire….

Round one top-scorer beeduybe may feel he doesn’t need a repeat performance to get to the last 128, with his round two opponent DundalkKid ranked much lower than him.

I’ve decided to give myself a bit of a challenge this week, so there’s no four point head start this time round. Not only that, but I’ve gone one further and handed myself a top 1000 opponent in JohnSteed01.

As for my colleagues, top 4k Granville has a tough draw against top 3k wolves_simmo, and Pure Olivia also has a higher ranked opponent in Ty_Durden67.

Moving on to our former champions, and the tough draws keep coming. FFS Cup II winner Jonty faces 368th in the world And_der_roo, and FFS Cup I champ donnellyc is a huge underdog in his tie against ham5ter.

The two Fantasy Managers handed a second bite of the cup apple haven’t faired any better it seems. TorresMagic takes on mobbonkhouse who, for the first time this season, moved into the top 1000 and eclipsed our Aussie friend in the overall rankings. As for Roger C, for who a red arrow didn’t see him drop out of the top 1000, he faces bill badger, a Fantasy Manager on a good run and with two free transfers in hand.

All fixtures are to be played during Gameweek 9. As always, a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power awaits the top-scoring Fantasy Manager of the second round. Good luck to everyone involved, and I’ll bring you the results on Tuesday.

From Paul Clement, our assistant first team coach, today:

'The players who played in Moscow were given the day off. The substitutes and players recovering from injury or illness, like Didier Drogba, came in the afternoon and we had a good session with them. Didier looks good and he trained well.'

'We thought Alex may have trained but he needs a couple of more days.'

''Frank is progressing really well, he had a terrific session earlier in the week with [assistant fitness coach] Chris Jones doing some individual work, he's really pushing himself.'

there is hope however. as ledley king highlights the demands on centre backs are much lower than in any other position on the pitch.

No, at this moment and time no, we're yet to see how he can work with big players, players with egos. It has to be José

True, needs more experience to fill such big shoes. I predicted that Jose already has set it up for himself, first to Madrid for a few seasons and then wait for Fergie to retire. There lies a problem however w/the spending and the Glazers; Jose loves to spend and buy world class players and I doubt he'd have such luxuries if things keep going the way they do at the moment. Plus, he doesn't necessarily build his teams to play an attacking style of football. I like Hughes a lot as a manager too.

Coleman should be set for the next 3 or 4 weeks, after that it'll depend how he's playing, Pienaar's to come back but it's quite possible he'll be moving in January and Coleman is giving us on the right what Baines does on the left. He's a good pick at the moment.

Fair enough, worth a hit to get in Coleman for Phil Jones also? I know the rule about taking hits for defenders but my defence is disgusting to look at and Phil Jones is worse than having Jamie Carragher, -100% attacking potential.

people buy him, he finds himself on he bench a few too many times for people's liking then they sell him bit by bit making his price go down. he wont need many sales to go down as he has a small ownership

pure speculation of course. and based on little more than my opinion that he will be on the bench quite a bit in the next month as he slowly re-finds his form.

Interesting draw for me against Thehodge - A lot of identical players. Midfield 4 only differs with him having VDV and me having Gerrard.

Of course he's made one change so who knows what that is.

    Sorry posted on old thread.

Interesting that most on here are planning to swap Malouda to Fabs next week and have to weaken elsewhere to achieve it. But if my maths is correct last year Fabs was scoring 0.098 points per minute he played whereas Malouda is currently scoring at 0.093 pts/min Is it worth it

I'm going Carson, not Robinson in goal this week and still deciding on Etherington for 3-5-2 or Odemwingie for 3-4-3...Ideally I'd like to see Odem back in action but spose we'll have to wait for tomorrow for crunch-time. Agree with that?

Are the auto-subs position based or just injured/non-injured players?

Off subject, but my attractive female neighbour is completely paranoid.

She thinks I'm following or even stalking her. She's worried that I may be obsessed with her and any time she hears a noise in her house she is..... purified? Oh wait petrified, sorry it's not easy reading a diary through binoculars from a tree.

I think it's going to take me until 11.29am on Saturday to decide on Adam or N'Zogbia. I reckon Adam has better fixtures and may well get another pen soon. But it means him playing against my goalie as I'll be playing Foster this week

Players are bound to play vs each other at times during the season.

You could be dampening the blow if a player scores past your keeper.

Yeah true. I'll probably pick Adam. He was in my team before GW1 right up until kick off. I really like him, it's definitely him or N'Zogbia (not interested in Brunt), I just can't decide which!
