Sunday offers a couple of four o’clock encounters, with City facing a trip to newly promoted Cardiff, alongside a lip-smacking encounter between Europa League rivals, Tottenham and Swansea at the Lane.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side will be looking to build on the fine 4-0 win over Newcastle on Monday to inflict a second defeat on new boys Cardiff. Malky MacKay’s outfit failed to make an impression on the West Ham defence on the opening day but may fancy their chances against a City side without the services of skipper Vincent Kompany.

In North London, Swansea will arrive having suffered a 4-1 home defeat to champions United but boosted by their midweek Europa League victory which saw them put five past their Romanian opponents. They’ll meet a Spurs side also buoyed by five goals in Europe and looking to add to their three points gained at Palace last weekend, a victory that came courtesy of Roberto Soldado’s cooly taken spot-kick. All eyes will be on the Spaniard today as he sports the Fantasy armband for many.

The team news is in and as is follows:

Manuel Pellegrini makes just one change to the team that swept aside Newcastle on Monday evening. The City boss brings in Javi Garcia for the injured Vincent Kompany at the back and keeps faith in Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero up top, with Alvaro Negredo warming the bench once again. Matija Nastasic is fit enough for the subs bench as he steps up his recovery from an ankle injury.

The Bluebirds also make just a single alteration to last week’s team. Andrew Taylor returns at left-back after serving a one-match suspension, with Declan Jon dropping out. Fraizer Campbell leads the line again, though new boy Andreas Cornelius makes the bench after an ankle complaint.

At White Hart Lane, Andre Villas-Boas rolls out a 4-3-3 and hands Etienne Capoue a first start for the hosts alongside Mousa Dembele and Paulinho in central midfield, as Gylfi Sigurdsson shifts to the bench. Andros Townsend replaces the injured Aaron Lennon on the right after impressing in the midweek Europa League win over Dinamo Tblisi.

Michael Laudrup makes a couple of alterations from the side that started against Man United last week. Fit-again Jonathan de Guzman and Pablo Hernandez replace Leon Britton and Nathan Dyer, with the latter remaining sidelined with a hamstring complaint. Michu leads the line again with Jonjo Shelvey ion “the hole”, meaning Wilfried Bony warms the bench once more for the Swans.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and available throughout today’s games for those in search of some real-time chatter as events unfold.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

assume dzeko went off nstead of aguero as aguero is more like the striker who can drop deep and link midfield and attack a bit like tevez used to do. negredo is more of a dzeko

Ramsey's recent upturn in form should see him continue to start I reckon, Wilshere should still play most weeks, but then Rosicky won't play so deep, but since Santi won't be benched (in all likelihood), either Rosicky or Podolski will give way at some point, or they will just switch off. Not positive but Ramsey, Wilshere, and Santi seem like the most reliable starters.

Not been on scout today but saw the game - is it widely agreed that the first City goal will go down as an own goal, with Dzeko reduced to an assist?

i wondered this too. it may happen by the dubious goals panel in the future, not in FPL though

Strange, the shot was going wide until it deflected off the defender. Need to be consistent with the rules really, no different to the Juan Mata goal at Old Trafford last year which went down as an oggy.

        Might write to FPL

they only fiddle with assists so you'd be wasting your time. dzeko was given the goal by opta (and the press association) so that's all that matters in FPL

      great strike...

not an FPL owner of Dzeko but great goal. livid this manager bought 2 strikers, as really would like to be a dzeko owner

Had Toure and Collins... Benched both, played Shaw & Zab.

54 points with nobody left. Not the best gameweek for me, especially if RVP bags a load tomorrow.

I think 5 5m-7m defenders is a good call, knowing one will be benched weekly due to bad fixtures. throw in RVP and two form strikers and youll have a team

2 BP's for Negredo?! I'm a lucky lucky lucky owner BUT that seems ridiculous, on for 20 minutes, gets a consolation goal and he shares the BP's with Dzeko who scored from one shot on target and left the pitch on 69 minutes. Both on the loosing side.

I'm delighted, but, it all seems a little wrong!

same as bent yesterday. ramsey gets the sky TV MOTM as a key part of the winning team and 0bps, walcott gets the skysports MOTM as a key part of the winning team and 0bps.
impossible to make everyone happy but goals still seem pretty beastly

ugh, and we thought this system would solve all the problems. So, on a very basic level, CB's with clean sheets have a great chance and strikers that score have a great chance - seems like the old-old system but based on a little more fact!

if you come on score and do nothing else it's 9 bp points, which judging by the evidence of the first 2 gameweeks gives you a great chance of bps. starting games as an attacking player gives you the chance of the 30+ passes bonus and odd points for setting up clear goalscoring chances but it also just means you have more time to lose points.

i don't know really, just thought it was a shame that gunnarsson who i thought was really good today, expecially first half, walks away with the same as negredo
