After the feast of yesterday’s eight fixtures we’ve got a relative famine this afternoon as we have just two games to sate our fantasy appetite this Sunday afternoon.

The Dugout Discussion swings open it’s doors once again as the two English sides knocked out of the Europa League in midweek are left to pick themselves back up and dust themselves down, starting with Liverpool at Sunderland.

The News from the Stadium of Light sees Danny Welbeck coming for Steed Malbranque as he makes his first start in over two months following a knee injury. Kenny Dalglish meanwhile gives Andy Carroll his first Premier League start in a Liverpool shirt as he (and Jay Spearing) come into the Liverpool side. The full teams are…

Sunderland XI: Mignolet; Bardsley, Bramble, Mensah, Ferdinand; Sessegnon, Henderson, Muntari, Richardson; Welbeck, Gyan

Liverpool XI: Reina; Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson; Spearing, Lucas; Kuyt, Meireles, Suarez; Carroll

After Asamoah Gyan and Luis Suarez have had time to think back on their long hot summer together we’ll be capital bound to close out the season as Chelsea host Man City as the two sides scrap for continued points in the fight for the Champions League spaces. With talk that Tevez may very well have undertaken a late fitness test on his groin plenty of managers will be hotly anticipating the results – especially those vicarious enough to hand him their fantasy armband.

The chatroom will be open through all the action as the Dugout Discussion is here to close out the last gameweek of the month.

        Nah, not the ref's fault.

        If the linesman is overruling the ref then he's saying he's 100% sure of the call. Ref has to go with him.

        The 0.5 difference in the multiplier swayed it in James Beattie's favour. Shocking form by Holloway to drop him.

            Yeah, I thought throwing Hargo in there would make it clear that that whole post was a mere pipe dream.

            Neuer would be nice, but would rather VDS give us one more year so we can focus on the gaping hole in the middle of our team. Not sure if Rodwell is the man to fill it, especially at the price he'd command. Haven't seen much of Gotze bar youtube 😀

            Hopefull Madrid will win the treble so Cristiano can get this Spanish adventure out of his system nice and early and come home. 🙁

              Remember people thought Smalling was insane money for someone who'd hardly played. Now he looks like the steal of the century. Hopefully Rodwell would be similar. There are almost certainly more developed foreign young Dm's about but i bet fergie is conscious of the homegrown rule. I honestly think Clev will provide the scholesesq goals from midfield next year too.

                  Youth players ftw! 4 goals from midfield playing in a wigan side at the bottom of the league is not to be sniffed at either. He's not a flair player, but he's extremely efficient.

    i really feel that football is becoming a very crap game these days. So much technology around and still almost every single game has so many game-changing wrong decisions. i cant even remember the last big game i watched where the referee got every important decision right.

      That's what I find interesting though. The general quality of football in the premiership is poor (other than a handful of teams) so it's the controversy that fills the time. Otherwise MOTD and similar would be very short.

    GW31
    Foster
    Terry Coleman Baines
    Fabregas Nani Nasri Adam O'Hara
    Zigic Van Persie Rooney

    GW 32: Nani -> Lamps & Baines -> Walker
    GW 33: Rooney -> Torres
    GW 34: Nasri -> to VDV or Nani(If i downgrade Zigic)

        It's a risk. I'd back Lampard to outscore him GW 32. Then he has a blank GW followed by Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea. Like i said, i could get him back GW34 if i downgrade Zigic.
