Injuries

The orderly queue to Everton’s treatment room has grown further with two more updates from Goodison in the last 24-hours. As David Moyes begins to contemplate another spell without striker Louis Saha, he now has to digest the fact that Jack Rodwell’s season is looking under threat, while Seamus Coleman is also a concern for the visit of Villa in a week’s time.

Rodwell is undoubtedly the major concern for Moyes. The rumoured £20 million target for Man United suffered an ankle injury in the 2-1 win over Fulham on Saturday which saw him withdraw from the England U21 squad – reports now suggest that the injury is far worse than expected. According to the latest claims, Rodwell’s could even sit out the rest of the season. The midfielder has been sent to see a specialist and there are fears that he could be out for at least a month.

Everton’s woes continued with the news that Coleman has withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad for their Euro 2012 qualifier against Macedonia this weekend – he also has an ankle injury, again sustained in Saturday’s win over Fulham.

As we mentioned yesterday, David Moyes is already without Marouane Fellaini for the season, while Mikel Arteta faces another month out and Louis Saha’s season may also have come to an end. With Rodwell joining their ranks and Coleman presumably a doubt for the Goodison clash with Villa in gameweek 31, the Everton squad now looks pretty ragged.

Given the absentees in midfield, Jermain Beckford, at 4.9 in the Fantasy Premier Leauge, is beginning to look assured of starts up front with Tim Cahill set for a support role. Leon Osman’s place and responsibility as the creative playmaker is also looking nailed-on, while both Phil Neville and John Heitinga could remain in the engine room. David Moyes may even have to put some faith in Diniyar Bilyaletdinov – it’s got that bad.

In Fantasy terms, it’s Beckford and Cahill who could emerge from this spate of injuries with boosted potential – their returns however will depend greatly on whether the likes of Osman and Leighton Baines down the left, can provide the ammunition.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

He is a former Chelsea schoolboy player that worshipped Zola...he was sent on loan to my team Brighton and we ended up buying him.

As a player he was remarkable. No bigger than the ball itself his skills were immense. I saw him play many times. He won us the play off final against bristol City with his trademark penalty taking. Great player. Only problem was he was a complete A**E, who believed he actually was Zola on the pitch. He p!ssed off so many people at brighton that he got loaned out and sold and has been moving around the world annoying ever smaller clubs ever since.

Wasted talent. He also once put something up on a brighton forum after he left saying he hoped we'd lose.

Im wildcarding aswell swede, so lets compare , maybe we can argue the best 15!

      Foster Begovic
      DAWSON Coleman Walker Luiz Smalling
      NASRI Adam Nani Vdv Lampard
      Rvp TEVEZ HOILETT

      SO
      Tevez, hoilett, nasri, dawson
      or
      rooney, Bent, ferguson, simpson

I think i need two arsenal players.
I dont think bent is worth the cash
I think il get simpson in when dawsons fixtures turn
      Ill lose tevez after sunderland

to make things easier, the identical players you have are perfect choices. As for the other 4 I agree with snoochie, especially switching Tevez out after this week. I imagine it will be Tevez>rooney?

one injury and it all comes down like a house of cards though, would you not prefer a slightly stronger bench and just get rid of Bent? I think thats the best idea TBH. But yeah your starting XI is sweet, no doubt about that.

Iv still got depth though. One injury wont really affect me as most of my starting 11 are expensive so i will have the cash to make a straight out swap.

I want Villa attacking cover til the end of the season with their fixtures.

Essentially simpson and ferguson will be mainly on my bench.
        Lets rather compare best 11.

        Foster
        Luiz Smalling Walker/Coleman
        Adam Nani VDV Lampard
        Rooney Bent V.Persie

        Bench:
        Simpson
        Ferguson

It's very close. My choices are also influenced by cathing a leader in my mini league

i would say my first team is better in that i think nasri is better then bent
