Charlie Adam is heading into Blackpool’s trip to Fulham on Saturday as an injury doubt following his outing for Scotland in the 2-0 defeat to Brazil.
The Blackpool skipper sustained a knee injury in conceding the penalty for Brazil’s second goal in the Emirates clash, having struggled to make an impression throughout.
A disappointed Adam seems confident that the setback will not keep him out of the weekend Craven Cottage visit…
“I just got a whack on it. We clashed knees but I’ll be all right and hopefully I’ll be ready for the weekend.”
Fantasy Managers need to show caution however; Adam is a highly sought after transfer target following his brace of goals and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Bonus in the 2-2 draw at Blackburn last time out. The Scot is also closing in on a run of four consecutive home matches that will make him hot property with all active Fantasy Managers – Adam has so far attracted over 41,000 new owners in the FPL in this current gameweek.
While the injury appears to be a minor problem – impact injuries can cause complications, as recently highlighted by Robin Van Persie’s recent absence for Arsenal following a similar incident in the Carling Cup Final defeat to Birmingham.
Those contemplating investment will be wise to wait for an official update from the Bloomfield Road camp. We will of course bring you any updates as and when they arrive.
