Craig Gordon has announced that he still remains well short of fitness as he battles to regain the number one jersey at Sunderland. An article in the Northern Echo this morning quotes the stricken Black Cats stopper who is still struggling with a knee injury…

“I’m not very close to being fully fit to be honest. I go back to see the specialist in the middle of next month. It’s a possibility (that I will not be fully fit until next season). A strong possibility. I’ll need to wait and see what the doctor says. I’m in his hands and he will tell me what I’m capable of doing from there.”

This comes as significant news for Fantasy Managers due to the potential offered by Simon Mignolet. The young Belgian keeper has started the last three league games for Steve Bruce, conceding 4 goals and keeping a superb clean sheet at the Emirates in gameweek 29. That game saw a 10 point haul with 2 Save Points and 2 Bonus for Mignolet, bringing the 3.9 valued prospect to the attention of Fantasy Premier League Managers.

Although Sunderland travel to Eastlands this weekend, the clean sheet against Arsenal on their last away trip will give them confidence, while City’s goalscoring form is hardly convincing right now. After this, Sunderland’s fixtures improve markedly, as our recent “Frisking the Fixtures” article outlined. With this latest news on Gordon’s fitness, it seems likely that Mignolet will cement his starting role – providing a significant boost to his already healthy Fantasy stock.

Look out for his ranking in today’s Watchlist update; a full Watchlist article assessing Mignolet’s potential will also follow.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

HaHa MnL, been much quieter this season as work has been manic.

Tbh though I have not been keen on the format of the site since it changed what must be over a year ago now. The fact that you have to trawl through pages of comments to see when people reply to your posts wrecks my head but also this place has become so popular I dont even bother reading posts due to the amount of drivel by people who clearly don't have a clue. So basically I now just drop in and read the articles and if I see a post from one of the guys like yourself who know's what they are talking about I have a read of that.

Poor result for Wales the other day v Engerland but that midfield is starting to look frighteningly good.

LOL Luis I probably asked for that but you don't know where I am coming from unless you were here a couple of years ago or so.

I am sure their are more good posters now as well as more poor posters. It's just a drawback of this site getting so good and popular I suppose but it does not make it any easier (or anywhere near as easy as it used to be) to trawl through comments for the nuggets or to have an ongoing discussion with someone like myself and MnL used to in times gone by.

I've captained Tevez in the last two 'easy' home games and got bugger all. That's the annoying thing, yet again he's actually got good potential. I've got 3 City players going into this game, I know I'll be disappointed but I'm still giving them one more week.

I've had enough of him. Even if he gets something I wont mind it too much - will just be glad to see him out of my team. Never though I would say that :). Isnt he doubtful too?

Yeah mate. Trying to work out what will set me up better.

Really like the idea of having two chelsea defenders over up until GW35 at least. Think they'll be solid and chance of goals too. Can't do it though unless I downgrade vdv to walcott.

Was thinking if I did that I could alternate walcott to vdv if necessary moving forward and have midfield of walcott/vdv, adam, nani, o'hara and lamps. Decisions!

    GW31: Arteta -> Adam
    GW32: Nasri & Berba -> Lamps & Welbeck (4 points)
GW33: Kelly or Djourou -> Luiz (depending on who's out for the season)
    GW34: Stockdale -> Gomez

Sound good? Looks like Kolarov may end up staying in!

    Squad is
    Foster, Stockdale
    Baines, Coleman, Kolarov, Kelly, Djourou

Ha, Feeney. He was a 'cult' figure at Cardiff (both the correct and misspelling).

He shares Rooney's premature balding and...that's it.

    Szczney Begovic
    Carr Simpson Coleman ShawX Walker
    adam young VDV Nani Lampard
    Zigic RVP Rooney

I think the front 8 will do me well for the next 3 GWs barring injury. And im looking for some chelsea coverage for 32 & 33

Coleman & Szczsney - Mingolet & Luiz works for next GW.

      Nice team, Lyon.

I actually reckon you can get by with Begovic for the rest of the season tbh, mate.

I have Foster and Harper but I doubt I'll be playing Harper in any of the remaining games because Foster's save points are so good.

I think, if you can get Gyan or Welbeck in there as your 3rd striker after this week you'll be all set.

While the majority of people aren't going to notice the difference between a 720p download and a 1080p blu-ray disc, I just prefer having the physical media rather than a download that could potentially be lost.

And until the broadband infrastructure is changed throughout the entire country where speeds are up to a level where you can download/stream without any buffer/nonsense, blu-ray will be here for a long time.

But why have stacks of BDs when you can have hundreds of your HD movies and thousands of your music in one media player? The solution to not losing your downloaded content is by backing up the files. I do agree on the broadband issue though, personally that is the only disadvantage

I'm a collector at the end of the day. And my mates are far more likely to ask to borrow a disk than a hard drive.

HD movies - even 720p ones take up considerable space on a HDD so there would be constant upgrading of that.

I'm not advocating that it won't go down that road in the future - I've always said that I have no problems paying a cinema price for a download of a film that is currently out in the cinema to be able to watch it in the comfort of my own home.

Worst decision all season getting Torres over Lampard before the BLP game... 🙁 Now I'm thinking that I have to see it through, because I'd be even more infuriated if he scored a brace after I got rid than if he didn't score and I kept him. The fact he was picked flop of the match vs Czech doesn't help at all 😀

Yes, very bad. True, it would be much more infuriating if he does something in the next three weeks having sold him than if I sit on him doing naff all...

However if Tevez is declared 100% fit this week it opens up a 'movable transfer' in my plan and I may take it up - no-one else I know has him so there's none of that worry.

                32: Kolarov/Coleman to Luiz/Walker

I'd keep Coleman for the BBurn fix in GW33.. I will need a third defender with a good fix that week. I'd also keep Nani, because everyone will have him all season long and you'll be kicking yourself when you have to pay 1m more than anyone else for having him 😛

Whatever plan I have Nani out in GW33 is pretty much set in stone, last few weeks last few chances of a push up the table do or die stuff.

I sold him a few weeks ago anyway so his sale price for me is going to be £10m and I wouldn't buy him back apart from maybe GW38 if he'd be playing.

Who should I be looking at as a replacement for Saha (7.6m)?

      Gyan? Carroll?

Like the moron I am I posted this before:

Can I go without a hit this week?

Just Berbs/Tevez>RVP depending on injury, fields:

    Foster
    Coleman Luiz Hangeland
    VDV Downing Lampard Barton
    RVP Tevez/Berbatov

    Subs:Al-Habsi Walker Gohouri Arteta Doyle

Without realising I'm fielding 10 there, should I:

    A) Play Walker
    B) Arteta>Adam
    C) Doyle>Welbeck

shame, it was a pretty poor delivery that got him out. i've finally run out of my £5 i've been using for the whole tournament. the last £1 went on gul top pakistan bowler tomorrow

30 on the win at 9/2 padd power myself. ofdds are far too big, gareth barry captain- that team was so good before the world cup, and even better during it. Big and strong, and its about time england were beaten at home
