With the draw for the second round of the FFS Cup IV to come on Thursday, following last week’s results article, sandwiched between them we have the round up for the Members’ Paddy Power Cup. Last gameweek we had 16 Fantasy Managers looking for a spot in the Quarter-Finals, which boasted two of the top 50 in the world (who went head-to-head) and the reigning Fantasy Football Scout Cup champion. Along with the all-important Quarter-Final draw, here is how the last round unfolded…

In our blockbuster main event, 26th in the world Zophar squared-off against 31st in the world oi keano. A high-scoring affair saw Zophar come away a convincing 73 – 60 winner. That effort earned him a green arrow, putting him a season-high 17th overall. As for oi keano, his battle with Zophar perhaps isn’t over, after a solid score resulted in the rarest of beasts – a blue arrow. Good luck to both of them for the rest of the season.

That high-scoring fixture was bettered however, as The Hunt put his name firmly on the radar as he notched an almighty 84 points, despite only being able to field ten. With the best score not making the next round, his opponent Jwebber will feel slightly unlucky after his fine effort of 65.

The biggest name left in the competition has to be current FFS Cup III champion Gooner dave, and he powered through to the quarters with a comfortable 62 – 54 victory over FC Super-Hans.

Two of the eight ties were settled by very slender margins; two points separated Kippax Kloggers (57) and Stefan Kuntz (55), and just a single point split kapitdave (49) and Alchi-traz (48).

Onto the Quarter-Final draw then, and this is how they’ll face-off in Gameweek 31…

  1. Roostars Vs. ryangal1982
  2. Gooner dave Vs. Kippax Kloggers
  3. The Hunt Vs. canetoad
  4. Zophar Vs. kapitidave

So the big-hitters previously mentioned have avoided each other, but there’s no easy game at this stage of the tournament. Good luck to all eight quarter-finalists, and I’ll bring you news of how these fixtures played out a few days after the gameweek has concluded.

Once again, the prizes for the competition, provided by Paddy Power, are a free £150 bet for the winner, £75 for the runner-up and £50 for third place.

If you’re not with Paddy Power yet, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10. (All offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.)

RE: the Olympic Stadium - perhaps they should have thought about what they were going to do with the stadium after the biggest waste of money of ever (The London Olympics) is over.

I personally dont think any professional football club should get it (it gives them an unfair advantage over their rivals)

Why can't it be a national athletics arena and that's that. Why do a football club HAVE to have it? Its in the wrong location for most clubs after the stadium. As stated it's unfair to the other clubs in the vicinity.

I think it should be used as a modern Colosseum. Instead of Big Brother, X-Factor and all that they should get Z List Celebs and wannabees to fight to the death for our amusement.
They'll have loads of opportunities for those hackneyed sob stories then.

Great idea, much better than mine!

The idea of annoying celebrity death is always one I find appealing.

*Bestiarri only fought animals so I thought it was appropriate in this round...

i'd maybe use this as the chance to get rid of stockdale. even someone as mundane as hennesey (dgw coming up) would be an improvement i'd say

I'm repeating myself here but I really, really fancy Stoke this weekend. Tony Pulis will make sure his team really rough up Chelsea right from the kick off, safe in the knowledge that not many of them are likely to risk life or limb with a mega game a few days away. And as we all know, anything half-hearted at the Britannia just isn't good enough.

    9/2 is a great bet, 33/1 a two-nil victory even better!

Well the option would be to lay the other side! You lose a tiny bit assuming the market hasn't moved lots.

If you manage to lay at the same price as you've backed, then it's as if you have cancelled the bet.

It's interesting how many guys you see around Ireland wearing Liverpool shirts.Traditionally you would only wear the shirt of a currently successful team, for example all the Leeds fans in the 70s. You know?

Liverpool are probably the most supported team in Ireland, followed by Celtic, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leeds etc.

Anyone read the Euro 2012 Ladder on F365?

    Joe Hart
It was telling that Hart was never going to be rested for the Ghana game - after the goalkeeping farce of last summer comes the absolute commitment to the Manchester City man as England's No. 1. At the age of 23, he still has moments of over-confidence, but hopefully that will be beaten out of him by next June. Still no sign of being an absolute dick - which is something of a bonus in this England side

    lol
