Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger has revealed that Fantasy Premier League favourite Robin Van Persie looks likely to shake off a minor knee problem and face Blackburn at the Emirates on Saturday. Van Persie, who is owned by 16.2% of FPL Managers, suffered the well-publicised knock whilst representing Holland in their Euro 2012 qualifier against Hungary.

After an initial worry over the injury prone forward, Wenger played down concerns:

“Van Persie has a good chance too. He has a final assessment tomorrow but we believe he will be fit. It is a bruised knee.â€

Elsewhere in the Arsenal squad, Wenger continued the positives with news that the side are set to welcome back a key quartet of Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song, Theo Walcott and Abou Diaby – although the Manager was coy over their involvement. Aaron Ramsey and Nicklas Bendtner are in a similar position to Van Persie and they will undergo late tests ahead of the visit of Steve Kean’s side.

“[Fabregas, Song, Walcott and Diaby] will all be available. I have not decided if they will start the game yet but they will all be available. We have a few players with tests tomorrow – Ramsey with his groin, Bendtner with his ankle, Van Persie with his knee. I will make a decision after training in the morning. We just have Denilson out. It is short–term. We have one or two players with question marks but all the other players will be available.â€

The Gunners are looking close to full strength then – just as the approach their gameweek 33 double (LIV tot) which is likely to draw heavy Fantasy investment in their squad. Rotation is now the key factor that will decide where this cash will go, Wenger’s lineup against Rovers will be eagerly anticipated.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Thinking about bringing in Welbeck and keeping for the run in, or bringing in Smalling at the back for Hangeland... thoughts or ideas? I'd love to get Barton out, but I've got no-one interesting in that price range.

Spose Birmingham's fixtures are okay, might get Ferguson in and move the money back to double up on Chelsea defence.

What you reckon on no subs this week and double next week? Terry and a striker for Berbs (Gyan/Welbeck)

I'm looking at Welbeck or Gyan, but more Gyan. Want to swap Barton to make my midfield look like a pretty five, but can't justify it with the value he brings for the price, even as a bench player. If you do want to though, O'Hara is the obvious choice?

Provided RVP stays fit it'd not really a 4 point hit as he has a double in GW33...

However you cut it you're always taking a hit, but RVP is well worth it. Just get lucky with you timing and don't buy him for a hit before a bone shatters.

I've never understood why traveling was such a chore for players ... sure, if they're coming from China and playing as soon as they get off the plane, then: yeah.

But, Dempsey isn't rowing back, is he? Not piloting the plane? Can the jaunt from New York to England really be much worse than the players who stayed 'home' and hit the pubs/clubs?

I'd transfer out Tevez for RVP.
Not sure you can afford Lamps without selling Nani. You'd have to work towards it. Getting someone cheap in for Evra would be a good place to start.

Team's a bit of a shambles, but I don't want to ruin my ranking by spending 12-16 points getting in, er, good players.

Put it this way - John Carew is under-rated. 🙂

        If not, here goes:

Slice mushrooms thinly - 4 per person(Use Chestnut Mushrooms if possible)
        Slice one even carrot thinly
Slice and dice a large onion finely
        Chop up some celery
Prepare a chilli by slicing down the middle, and remove pith and pips
Have some Cumin seed and Cinnamon bark ready
        Squeeze one lemon
Reserve your risotto rice to a dry cup - 2 tablespoons per person

Get an appropriate pot, and slosh some olive oil in. Fry the mushrooms, until they show a bit of colour, then chuck in the carrots. Add a half teaspoon of Cumin seed, and a strip of Cinnamon bark. Chuck in the onion, half the lemon juice and chilli, and carry on frying until the lemon juice has dried up. Add the rice, and fry for about a minute. Pour two glasses of white wine, and drink one. Chuck the other one into the mixture, and carry on stirring. Add water gradually, until you like the look of it. Grind some black pepper into it, liberally. Add a knob of butter. Put a lid on it, and get your plates. Serve and gobble! 🙂

I'd bring him in for Tevez if I thought he'd play.

There just seems to be several reasons why he would be rested or not as his best even if he does play.

If you have him, play him...but I would wait to bring him in if you don't...maybe right before the double if he's healthy.

All depends on your second name Hunter, seriously.

i got to name a bird in my old job's kid.

Their second name was Doolin- I suggested Jimmy.

Aint noone messing with a kid called Jimmy Doolin 😀

you probably dont want to mention your second name though...

      Many grats, Hunter.

I conceded choice of first name to the missus, figured I really didn't have the choice anyways, in order to solidify my claim to the middle name.

Results? 3 kids, middle names: Cantona, Keane, and Ferguson. Was pushing for Giggs but Quagmire from 'Family Guy' put the kibosh on it ...

    Need some advice lads:

    I've got:

    Foster(Sczes)

    Huth,Coleman,Evatt,Kolarov,Walker

    Bale,Adam,Nani,Fat Frankie,A. Young,

    RVP,Rooney,Ba

Bale doubtful - thinking of bringing in Hitzlberger or Duff to free up cash for Luiz by upgrading Kolarov

OR no hit and save changes for next GW..thoughts?

My question is can I survive this week without making a transfer? Kind of need a double so I can bring Lampard in, hit free.

    Team:

    Foster, Hennessey

    Luiz, Coleman, Kolarov (Djourou, Wilkinson)

VDV, Nani, Barton, A Young (Bale)

    RVP(c), Torres, Bent

Bench is completely crocked. Torres needs to go next week, Lampard is a far more attractive option but I dont really wanna do a hit to bring in a chelsea player for another chelsea player, therefore hoping I can hold off. Bale injury puts a spanner in the works.

I don't think, barring any obvious injury reports, that anyone could say with any certainty that any one of those would be better than any other.

Seems to me you play those you're most attached to (e.g. Defoe), 'cause then if they score and on your bench, it will drive you to tears.

Gyan is the solid option; his fixtures become really good next week. Beckford is a good shout too because he's soo cheap and guaranteed starts with Saha out. Carroll is a reasonable option too. Welbeck is the budget version of Gyan and could be very exceptional value.

Rooney's starting to annoy me and I only got him last week. Taking up too much money when it's tight (to say the least). I'd much rather Suarez + cash but I'll have to stick with him for 3-4 weeks.

Btw 'yer old da', despite what I said I'd do Tevez --> RVP

Right someone please advise...Is Berbatwat actually going to start this wknd? I am toying with the idea of swapping for Suarez even though I have already taken a 4 point hit this week!!! Is it worth it???

just had a chicken tikka vindaloo and 5 pints of kingfisher top of the world meal ,5 pints is enough to make you confirm that button .
djourou to sagna (championship bburn will never score)
young to adam (mr miss penalty to goldmine)
rooney to rvp (oop position winger to goldmine)
job done 4 point hit bollocks to it i know im right.

Having read Wengers comments, I can only hope Denilson is injured until May and then sold to anyone who likes a constantly pained face, lethargic, useless shooting, backwards passing only sob. Rant over. Praying I win the lottery so I can donate funds for a spine for arsenal.
