As Chelsea brace themselves for a favourable run of upcoming fixtures, Fantasy managers are contemplating a route into Jose Mourinho’s side as a potentially profitable source of points. While rest and rotation have undoubtedly dimmed just how we assess the Blues’ Fantasy prospects, a schedule which pits them against eight of the current bottom 10 over the next 11 Gameweeks will surely be enough to tempt many.

In this latest article for members, we turn to the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tables as a means of analysis. As previously explained, these focus on the frequency of key stats or events in order to help us track player form – with this in mind, we shine the spotlight on the Chelsea midfield and analyse the data from this season compare to last.

Been a bit busy tonight planning on how to sort out my defence until the jan WC, as after week 10 my current defence has awful fixtures.

    How does this look: http://i.imgur.com/PyY8iVt.png

Is that your current defence, or your "sorted" version? It looks decent enough. Teams like Chelsea and even Tottenham are capable of clean sheets against anyone. So are West Ham for that matter when they park the bus. So you should be well set up.
Honestly I had not really looked too much beyond gw10 as of yet. The RMT tool is pretty good for that. I just see if there is a fair amount of green in the next 6 weeks.

that will be my new defence, tried to avoid any 'red' fixtures.

Current defence is Coleman Dawson Clyne Wilson Burner

gives me 5 game weeks with at least 1 'red' fixture.

Wow. Super-dead-zone. I suppose I'll have to contribute something:

I'm languishing just under 500k so far this year. I'm hardly worried because last year (my first year playing) I was over 900k around Christmas before recovering to finish around 40k.So there is no need for panic. Frustration, perhaps.

One item worth getting everyone's opinion on is whether you think that focusing on team value (as I have been) is a decent strategy. Last year, I was able to take advantage of my team's higher value than the rest of my ML, and ended up winning it.

But I wonder if it is a silly strategy. In order for it to work, many high-priced, consistent scorers have to emerge, like they did last year. If that fails to materialize, then the team value strategy could backfire. Like many I feel I need to spend everything, so a high team value almost forces one to overlook many lower-priced players...

In any case, we'll see how it goes. Team value is 104.3, again much higher than most of my ML. At least I'm well positioned for success later in the year.

how doo you actively target transfers to increase team value? Is it simply a matter of trying to pick players at the start of a bandwagon and then sell them and try and identify the next prospect....repeat?

Yes. Use a few extra hits to jump on the bandwagons early, and jump off when they fizzle out, at least early in the season.

this season i have been taking hits to get in the in-form players in the hope for point gains and more importantly team value. To bring in a in-form player of mid-price range there is high chance tt he will rise 0.3 n another 0.1 after sat deadline. but well if mid price mid cont to dominate the whole season then having high team value may not have significant effect cos every1 can afford them

Not sure about Zabs with Kompany out and Hart off form.

      Ben Arfa must go.

Ben Arfa to Barkley sounds decent.

You don't have any injuries to your quality players, so I would suggest you only make 1 transfer during the break and roll the other one forward until a time when you really need two transfers

      Looks very solid to me.

I think Michu's prospects are slightly better over the next few fixtures but debatable if it is worth a transfer as Eriksen could easily come good. Rooney transfer is gold - Villa's fixtures turn nicely then.

I have migs and some 4 m guy named kelvin Davis

    Do I get another goalie?

My big concern is my front of sturridge giroud Rooney.

I never played this before I never even watched soccer except World Cup I'm American who now loves epl on nbc here I get every game it's sick.

Do I get this lukaku guy?

    I have 99.9 tv
4.6 in bank But I already have Coleman and Barkley. Everton Overkill?

    Mig
    Coleman Fonte vertongen. Ward Chester.
Barkley ozil michu januzaj i Morrison
    Stur. Giroud rooney

Suarez? Lucaku or get Rvp. Benteke. I love trading but I only took 2 hits so far and used WC

    8 total trans.

I'd say Lukaku to go if Benteke starts firing up. Because Lukaku is on loan we don't know when he will and won't play, and when he'll come on or off as a sub.

Giroud is the main man up front for a team who hasn't failed to score in any matches so far!

                And Suarez... Well he's Suarez!

But Martinez is saying he needs to be playing 90 mins each week. Let's face it three slots in our team but more than three valid candidates.

90 minutes in the premier league? What happens when there's a cup match? 90 mins in the cup match and someone else gets the nod for the Premier League?

And yeah I totally agree. There's 7 players I could easily have!

Yeah he'll play a lot this season. But would you rather Benteke, a player who will start every game he can. Or Lukaku who may or may not be restricted on game time. Imagine owning him and Martinez doesn't play him against Palace at home!! You'd want all of your strikers appearing in these sort of matches

Suarez is definitely the one I know who will stay. Speaking of which, I think him (or Studge) might be the 'must-haves' if there were any at all.

Lukaku seems to score no matter who he plays (similar to Benteke) and I can't imagine Lukaku not playing every match for some reason. Giroud somehow seems off the mark the last several games... although that probably is in contrast to the amazing start he had.

If you had to spend it - Midfield. But as many users have pointed out - you could build a very good team with 80-90mil the way this season has been so far.

I would say upgrade Barkley/Lallana/Januzaj to someone like Michu.

I think I should wait until Morrison looks set to rise before I do a -4 to get him in. JWP wont even get 0 PTS, he will cameo for when Ramirez comes off.

He should get starts considering the form of his competitors. But moyes will have to balance the team somehow. Imagine how young/kagawa/welbeck would feel getting benched cos of a 18year old every week. But januzaj should still get starts until he signs a contract with united. Will get subbed off frequently though, around 70mins or so. But scoring against saints and stoke is hardly and easy feat even if united are at home.

On one hand the 3-5-2 employes by Rodgers has made Toure(who i own) nailed on @ 5 million. On the other hand it could potentially unleash GJ as an fpl force @ just 0.8 more. Doubling up would be unwise and i doubt i'll ever be able to justify toure to GJ unless on WC :sigh:

        I agree with this.

Terry is probably the best goalscoring defender out there after the obvious one (Baines).

Enrique offers more attacking threat than Johnson anyway.

Personlly, I'd stick with Touré. £5m for a Liverpool defensive starter is not to be sniffed at. Bought him into my WC defence this week.

i dunno man.. he tends to cut in a lot and take a lot of shots every time i see him playing in a 4-4-2. Playing in a 3-5-2 with a further license to go forward could be very profitable.. i remember him being played in midfield last season(or the one b4 that... not sure) for 2-3 games when Pool had injury worries and he was scary.

Toure>GJ is a fabulous move at the price. He will be playing massively OOP and could get at least 5 goals, maybe more, if he plays there all season. He also gets the BAPS for CSs and attacking threat too. Perfect.

    Mignolet • Lewis
    Terry • Dawson • Coleman • Clyne • Turner
    Ozil • Michu • Eriksen • Barkley • Morrison
    Suarez • Giroud • Lukaku

    +3.4M

Anyone is affordable. Was also thinking about shipping Coleman. Maybe Migs and Coleman out for Boruc and Toure. That would free up some more funds, but I have no idea where to spend them.

I would say save but not really an option. Wait until next week & something may be obvious then.

Only weak spots really are defence, but no real cash to upgrade unless you ship out one of your premium players. I'd leave as is.
