As Chelsea brace themselves for a favourable run of upcoming fixtures, Fantasy managers are contemplating a route into Jose Mourinho’s side as a potentially profitable source of points. While rest and rotation have undoubtedly dimmed just how we assess the Blues’ Fantasy prospects, a schedule which pits them against eight of the current bottom 10 over the next 11 Gameweeks will surely be enough to tempt many.

In this latest article for members, we turn to the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tables as a means of analysis. As previously explained, these focus on the frequency of key stats or events in order to help us track player form – with this in mind, we shine the spotlight on the Chelsea midfield and analyse the data from this season compare to last.

WBA has good chances Stoke dont score easily. Sunderland has scored vs Liverpool and United and could score in both games more goals whereas Swansea's defenders have injuries. And City may keep a cs but with the best defender out and vs a team that scored 3 times in WHL i wouldnt bet they will.

Arghh struggling to decide whether to wildcard or not 🙁 This is my team.

    Vorm, Stekelenburg
    Coleman, Shaw, Mertesacker, Zabaleta, Amorebieta
    Eriksen, Ramsey, Oscar, Michu, Barkley
    Soldado, Sturridge, Giroud

No FT, 0.3 in the bank, TV 103,6. I think I can field quite solid team for the next gameweek but still I would like to re-structure it. I have 7 players I 'd like to get rid (Vorm, Stekelenburg, Mertesacker, Amorebieta, Eriksen, Soldado, Shaw) I'd appreciate your opinions what to do with this team! Thank you in advance!

Why do you want to get rid of Mert? Arsenal lacking clean sheets a bit but I reckon they'll turn it around. And he'll be a big goal threat with Ozil supplying the dead balls.

Team looks solid. I'd slowly ween them out, but I do have felt the need to WC and clear out the clutter all at once.

I felt there could be better options available to Mert if I used my WC. You're right, Arsenal could get more clean sheets in the coming gameweeks so no problem with having Mert.

Eriksen not bad to have either. I wouldn't WC that. Just take that hit to get Lukaku and this is one of the better teams around. You can wait for the next round to ship Amorebieta out.

Team looks great, save the WC and don't take any hits. If you have Soldado still it's not worth getting rid of him for a hit IMO, he'll probably start (Defoe didn't work out too well) and he's got great fixtures.

The way this season is going Kolarov may actually be a decent option. Generally he either play 0 minutes or he starts, so he's pretty safe that way. And due to the fallout of many premium players, many of us have dough just lying around, I myself have 4+M that I am starting to wonder what to do with.

So as a fourth defender, he isn't a bad option. You can stick him in and if he plays, he plays, otherwise you'll have cover.

I wonder if Baines is going to score at a lesser rate this season? Under Moyes one of Everton's key tactic was get the ball wide to Baines to cross the ball in. However, this season everytime Baines seems to have the ball out wide he seems to be looking for the short ball instead of crossing. This seems to be obviously a Martinez tactic and probably a good tactic for Everton as a team. But Baines FPL potential looks to lessen as a result. Need to get looking at the stats data.

I think he's going to score more. Bonus points benefit him more this season and Everton will keep more CS. I agree, I think he might lose a few assists, but most of his assists last season were from set-pieces so it's not going to be a huge number.

You could be right. Do you think there will be more clean sheets than last season? I would have thought it would be a similar number. Just to confirm I am a Baines owner (often when people write a negative article on a player it is because they are trying to talk themselves out of owning the player - this is not the case this time).

I have those three forwards with a FT and have no intention of getting rid of any of them, whilst they are in form and continue with easish fixtures.

Giroud will outscore Lukaku as he will get better service than everton can ever hope to provide (Ozil, Aretata, Carzola, Ramsey, Wilshire, giggs etc vs. ummm Baines). He may of had a couple of blanks, but he scored in the champions league vs. Napoli which isn't reflected in that period. Lukaku's main exploits have been against Newcastle who have been this seasons whipping boys, they are woeful.

The caveat to the above is if you need a £1m to spend elsewhere, if so, not a bad call, but not worth a hit.

Greg Dyke finally looks to be sorting out English football. As a Crewe fan it seems 20 years to late to get Dario Gradi on board to help sort out English football. Whilst this has helped Crewe England could be playing the type of football that Spain plays had he had the opportunity to develop technical football on a national scale. However, better late then never. Also, everytime I hear Danny Mills and Glenn Hoddle talk they seem very knowledgeable and I think they will have some positive influence. We wont know the results for another 10 years but finally things are looking positive for English football.

I've taken Rooney out for Lukaku. Watched them both play and quite simply, Rooney has been looking less keen the last couple of weeks. It worries me that he mainly scores from set pieces. It worries me that United haven't found a good balance yet. They seem nervous.

Lukaku is on fire, and it generally pays to get players like that into your squad as quickly as possible. Really rate everton as a team.

Plus the money it frees up will come in handy later when Wally is back.

1 point for every 3 crosses (A cross is defined where the ball is played to their own player in the penalty area)

1 point for every 3 key passes (A key pass is one that leads to a shot at goal)

1 point for every big chance created (A big chance is one where the analyst determines the player should score)

-1 point for every big chance missed

    Defending Bonus

Players will also score extra points for good defending:

1 point for every 6 clearances, blocks or interceptions

1 point for every 6 recovered balls

-1 point for every error leading to a goal

Do you reckon FPL would be better with these rules implemented? Would give good players better credit and does less to discriminate good players playing for weaker teams imo.

its more the fact the quality of players are poor. top points scorer only has 11 goals. and only around 5 games left. with them rules in english league with the top quality players i reckon we would see a different scenario.

When a defender gets 11 for a CS, there's an issue. Hits would need to be -5 or -6 to compensate.

    Mig / Boruc
    Zab / Vidic / Coleman / Collins / Clyne

Don't try to make it all up in one GW.

But if you want to take a hit: Get Lukaku in and captain him.

Michu has a great set of fixtures, might want to be on that train. Wally when he is back. And get Barkley, he's superb value imo.

Okay. I have to ask: am I the only one, who thinks Everton is having relatively good next 6 fixtures from now on if you compare to the big teams such as Liverpool, Arsenal and ManU that are said to have strong fixtures?

This has to do with my consideration of taking -4 hit for Stu -> Lukaku. I also have Suarez. Another point to consider here is that I also want to get Michu in, and I have to take hit somewhere to raise money for that transfer. Lukaku seems the most obvious option from the cheaper players to get in for hit, as he is probably the most likely to bring those points back.

I see this and would wait for Lukaku, but for me this is Sigurdson & Stu -> Michu & Lukaku. I cannot have only Sigurdsson -> Michu. It is Michu that I want the most now.

        I reason it like this:

I think most will agree that it is likely that Michu and Lukaku will score at least 4 more in combined points in next 6 rounds than Sturridge and Sigurdsson. Now the question is just is it worth taking the hit for the next round or would I get more points by making the move only for GW 9.

Remember, I cannot make just Sigurdsson -> Michu now. If I make only one of them now, it has to be Stu -> Luka. That would however leave me with Sigurdsson at Villa. I think it is even worse to save my transfer, because Newcastle has conceded only in one home match, whereas Hull has conceded 2 goals in each of their away matches, so I think Lukaku is way more likely to get to the scoresheet twice (this is what we look for, right).

So, the question comes down to how likely are Michu and Lukaku to score more than 4 points more at home against Sunderland and Hull than Sturridge and Sigurdsson will score against Newcastle and Villa away. And I do think that that is quite likely.

thats very harsh, Lennon's a good winger.

Last season Bale played at his best when Lennon was on the other wing pushing the defense back, thats why Bale got so much space.

Lennon is excellent. He's great at carrying the ball long distances and causing confusion amongst the others teams defense. He's definitely improved over the years too. I wouldn't pick him for FPL because he's never in the side. He'd score high if he played for a smaller club.

    baines | dawson | clyne | wilson | rosenoir
    michu | eriksen | barkley | arnie | lamps
    suarez | rooney | berbatov

    2FT
    wanna do berba > lukaku
    which would mean either:

    a) arnie > morrison/januzaj or...
    b) lamps > ramsay

Of prefer lamps to someone else other than Ramsey. What would your budget be?

berba > lukaku = very good transfer

I'd do B to go with it. Lamps isn't secure and it's a lot of money to spend on someone who may not play week to week.

Latest tweet regarding Lukaku's game time is extremely encouraging. For me that very definitely gives him the edge over Benteke.

Not only is he substantially cheaper but as I posted previously, last season Lukaku registered a shot on target every 47 mins (ie not just shots, but on 1 on target pretty much every half played). On the other hand Benteke managed a shot on target every 74 mins.

Obviously the proof is in the pudding but the only real argument against choosing Lukaku has been his starts and pitch time, which is why Im extremely encouraged by the tweet 🙂

I want Benteke and Lukaku. Gives me lots to spend on premium defenders for their baps.

True, this could work as a front pairing, particularly as Benteke has decent fixtures on the horizon.

Plus I don't think many would have both. So it would be a cool differential.

No. Back and forwards are great.

Midfield stinks. HBA Nani Brady > Ramsey Barkley Yaya for -8.

"David Moyes has come in and he's playing me up front and I'm enjoying it."

Now all you have to do is score me double digit points in the upcoming GW. That's all i'm asking.

Being .1m from a much needed double transfer. Prices will still fluctuate between now and the next GW right? ...or do IF weeks so something I'm not aware of?
