As mentioned earlier in the week, the guys at Player Manager have set up a Scout League tournament with £400 in prizes up for grabs.

The League will start this weekend (gameweek 31) and will run until the end of the season. The league placings will be calculated using the best score from all your solo games each gameweek (friends leagues don’t count) and the best 4 of these determines your position on the leaderboard.

Those who wish to enter the Scout League for this tournament can do so by emailing “In” to this address scout@playermanager.com. Make sure you send it from the address you’ll be using at Player Manager. Scores will only count after you send the email.

Want more details? Here’s a full FAQ on the tournament from Player Manager

Q. How much will it cost me to enter?
A. There’s no entry fee for the league tournament but you will need to register at least 4 scores over 4 different gameweeks between now and the end of the season to qualify. That means entering at least 4 Solo Game teams costing 10 credits or £1 each.

Q. Can I enter multiple teams?
A. Absolutely – one of the unique benefits of Player Manager is that, once you’ve designed your master list of players, it’s dead easy to generate multiple teams. So, in the Scout League, you can register as many scores with as many teams as you like over the 8 remaining gameweeks but only the best score from 4 gameweeks will contribute towards your standing.

Q. What happens if 2, 3 or 4 of my highest scoring teams overall are from the same gameweek?
A. Only the best score from each gameweek is used to calculate your score

Q. What if I miss, or have a low-scoring, gameweek?
A. That doesn’t matter – you just have to enter teams in 4 out of the 8 remaining gameweeks in the season.

Q. How long will entry be open?
A. We’re only at gameweek 31 with 8 rounds to go. That means you have until the close of gameweek 35 – 11.30am on Saturday, April 30 – to enter. But entering later gives you less chances at posting a high gameweek score.

Q. Will there be a league table?
A. Yes. You’ll receive a link to the full table in an email from Player Manager once the scores are finalised early next week. We’ll also look to publish standings right here once a couple of gameweeks have passed.

Q. Do you include scores from private (friends) leagues?
A. No – its solo games (which are against random opponents) only.

Q. I’ve signed up. What now?
A. Log in and hit the “manage my player list” button to go to your Player Station. Start putting your player list together based on this week’s fixtures. You can use the “AUTO-FILL” button to get you started with 33 in-form players. Once you’ve listed your players you just need to assign ranks (order of preference in auction) and add a max bid.

Q. What sort of maximum bid should I set for players?
A. The “Avg” column shows you the average price each player went for last gameweek.

Q. Can only one person (i.e. whoever makes the highest bid) own a certain player within each 5, 10 or 15-person league? And can we fill the Player List with as many players as we like?

A. Yes and yes.

Q. What is the difference between these 5, 10 and 15-person leagues and the Scout league?
A. You play your solo games in leagues of 5, 10 or 15 people. The best score from any of these leagues in a gameweek is taken as your score for the Scout league.

Q. Is there a limit to the number of players we can have from any Premier League team?
A. No – its all down to your maximum bid (and remaining salary cap)

Q. Can I bid £100m for one player?
A. Almost. You can bid £90m on one player (there needs to be at least £1m reserved for every place in your team so that you get a squad of 11 players). Having said that, if the next highest bid for that player is £2m, you’ll get him for just £3m (just like eBay with automatic bidding increments of £1m).

Q. How do I pick my formation?
A. You don’t. You’re after the best players – not the best formation. Player Manager will automatically ensure that your team has a valid formation (3-5-2; 3-4-3; 4-5-1; 4-4-2; 4-3-3; 5-3-2; 5-4-1). For example, if you have already bought 3 strikers, you won’t be nominating or bidding for any more strikers.

Q. Can I see the maximum bids of other managers – either before or after the auction?
A. No – but you’ll get to see who every player was bought by, and at what price.

Q. How do I enter again?
A. Email scout@playermanager.com with the subject “In”. Be sure you are signed up to Player Manager using the same email address.

For those who want to know more, there’s a full FAQ about the game here.

Does Stevie Wonder do the injury colour coding at FPL by any chance?

Kyle Walker confirmed fit yesterday, Stevie then decides to add a yellow doubt flag today( no doubt based on the BBC's woeful match preview on the issue).

Meanwhile Seamus Coleman is a genuine doubt, but Stevie has decided to leave his blank. Sort it out Stevie, you may be a pop music legend but your injury flagging skills are atrocious.

urgh the Scotsman newspaper just well and truly pwned me with an April Fools. 2 page article on Edinburgh's forgotten underground system. Had me wondering why I'd never heard of it before; why they shut it down; how they built the thing through all the volcanic bedrock; why Edinburgh council didn't just reopen it instead of the current Princes Street 'Tram-gate' etc. Just all felt a bit odd but I bought it, then I remembered the date /o\

Any computer whiz# care to offer some advice?

My battery for my HP notebook failed recently, said it needed to be replaced. SO I purchased this battery through ebay and received it yesterday, it should be fully compatible from the specs.

However I am experiencing a number of issues with it.

I first put in the battery and began charging it ,as advised by sellers, however although the symbol in the bottom right of my screen suggested it was charging, when i hover over it is says "xx% available (plugged in, not charging)"

At the beginning the charger was approximately 80% so i did not notice. However once i unplugged the charger it was still around 80% while using the computer unplugged, it then turned off without warning a number of times in quick succession last night. I then opened it today, put in the charger, this time, it fully charged, so i unplugged it to let it decharge, it got to about 18% when without warning it died again!

I have now tried to plug in the charger and the same note appears '18% available (plugged in, not charging)'
any ideas whats wrong with it, faulty battery or something else?

The best thing to do would to have purchased an official battery. Unfortunately, manufacturers often like to add little bits to their laptop parts to make them incompatible with other brands (although it's better now than it was.

Your laptop obviously has trouble reading the battery strength. I'm guessing the voltage is incorrect, but give me the laptop model and a link to the battery you bought

Right, I can't find the exact battery, because HP are sneaky shits. It might display the voltage on your old battery.

However this one is rated as 11.1v : http://www.battery-retail-store.co.uk/t3battery.php?e_classcode=1&e_mabrand=SFA=&e_mamodelstr=S1M1MjRBQQ==&e_bid=1270

And your new one is 10.8. It will make a difference if there's a shortfall. It's the same reason rechargable batteries never used to work properly in handheld consoles, and the new battery could potentially damage your PC I believe.

I'd agree if with Dawson if choosing for the rest of the season but Birmingham have 5 fixtures over the next 4 compared to Tottenham's 4. Saying that, why would you be looking for a £5m defender for 4 weeks only Connor?

RBJ, if Coleman isn't playing I can only field two defenders. I am bringing in Luiz next week anyway, so I might just do the trade this week just to make sure I can field a full 11.

Ivanovic could play CB instead of Luiz. In fact, there's a chance Ivan and Terry will play CB to counteract Stoke's height, and Luiz could play RB.

Doesn't really matter, I'll get him next week and it would be for 4 points anyway as I still need to get either Luiz or Terry in. My logic to do it this week was mainly that I took Young out for him, and I wouldn't feel comfortable taking him out for Lampard next week before he has a home game against Newcastle.
