Fantasy Football Scout are pleased to announce the eighth instalment of our open-to-all, free-to-enter Cup competition, sponsored by Paddy Power.

This is your chance to join our previous winners – donnellyc, Jonty (no, really), Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster, Mch and reigning champion, Wild Rover – in our hall of fame.

Seasoned veterans can click here to submit their entry. For full details of when it starts and the prizes on offer, read on…

What is the Paddy Power Cup?

The Paddy Power Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager highest in the overall standing will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round will take place in Gameweek 11 but you can enter after the Gameweek is played out. All entries received before Monday November 11 will be entered into the qualifying round. In this first cup competition we will have 1024 qualifiers for the first round – those 1017 (plus 7 previous winners who will earn a bye if entered) with the top scores in Gameweek 11 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 12. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

How do I enter?

Simply fill out the entry form here. You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry. You can also check that you are entered via this list.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published on Tuesday November 12

What is the Gameweek Schedule

Each round of the Paddy Power Cup will be played out over the following schedule:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 11
  • Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 12
  • Round 2 – 512 teams – Gameweek 13
  • Gameweek 14 – Break
  • Round 3 – 256 teams – Gameweek 15
  • Round 4 – 128 teams – Gameweek 16
  • Round 5 – 64 teams – Gameweek 17
  • Gameweek 18 – Break
  • Round 6 – 32 teams – Gameweek 19
  • Gameweek 20 – Break
  • Round 7 – 16 teams – Gameweek 21
  • Quarter-Final – 8 teams – Gameweek 22
  • Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 23
  • Final – 2 teams – Gameweek 24

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon Voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon Voucher

In addition, the top scoring manager from each round will win a £25 free bet from Paddy Power on supply of their Paddy Power username.

Cup Entrants will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 or over to be eligible for some of the above prizes. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. You can, of course, enter without being over 18 and without a Paddy Power account but will not be eligible for the free bet prizes.

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record you entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFS username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter – you must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from the tournament.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Mignolet (FUL)
Clyne (HUL) / Coleman (cry) / Evra (ARS)
Hazard (WBA) / Whittingham (avl) / Januzaj (ARS) / Michu (STK)
Benteke (CAR) / Rooney (ARS) / Agüero (sun)

    £0.1 Lewis / Kolarov / Hernández / Chester

Loving the fixtures next week, but with Michu blanking again and now being injured as well I'll need to change it up a bit as none of my bench players will actually play.
Other than that I'm also worried about not owning Suarez, with Liverpool looking to bounce back against a very weak Fulham.

    Currently thinking I'll do:
Michu, Rooney -> Ramsey, Suarez (-4)

Best case scenario, Pablo and Chester return after the international break and I'll have enough money to switch Kolarov out for whichever defender I fancy at the time, likely Terry.

    Sound good?

Think Hazard & Oscar have the better set of fixtures.

In the last 2 seasons City have lost at Sunderland 1-0 both times. Unlikely to happen again of course, but think they have a generally good way of keeping them quiet.

Are people going full kneejerk tonight? Michu "could" be out. Its a twisted ankle. He could easily be fine for the weekend. Lukaku got a bruise. Would be very suprised if he was out.

I've got both and I could be wrong but the reactions tonight feel a bit over the top considering that many top teams have european commitments midweek.

    My two cents anyway...

Laudrup assesment on the same night? Wouldn't put to much emphasis on it. The way the Swans are going I wouldn't rule out mindgames.

Don't get me wrong, he could be out for the weekend but its only one game and then he has several good fixtures and is one of few OOP mids.

Oh well. I'll likely regret keeping him but taking him out for a hit with Brady as backup this GW is not an option.

Yeah there's no certainty he's out but as you can see the injury doubt is just the final straw for many people worried about how he's playing when fit.

Something wrong with Swans for sure.

I think he can. I just don't know what to do, anyone I get in atm seems like a stop-gap as the guy I want to replace Michu with is Theo, but we have no news on him.

This is why I'm sorely tempted to get someone like Januzaj or Ravel who I planned on getting in a few weeks anyway, then just get Theo when I planned on one of them in.

I can replace Hazard with Theo as things stand. If he falls another 0.2 I can replace Michu/Michu's replacement with Theo. Lawd I hope he falls further.

Until we see how Coutinho plays in the hole it's a walk in the dark. I do think he'll play it better than Moses though.

I'd have the other def as rosenoir and take a punt on Cabaye, think he will be a great differential over the next few

Commentator made a comment during the game about how he was consistently doing everything well for the team all over the pitch.

Check fixtures though - 2 decent home games NOR and a relatively stingy WBA.

Others are tot swa mun SOT…..

        Jury's out for me.

    Michu to Coutinho
    Giroud to Aguero
    Vidic to Vlaar

0.0 in the bank. 4 point hit. Thoughts?

    Team at the moment

    Boruc Harper
    Vidic. Coleman. Lovren. Dawson. Koscienly
    Morrison. Michu. Oscar. Ramsey. Brady.
    Giroud. Suarez. Rooney.

Meant those transfers would leave 0.0 in the bank.
