Fantasy Football Scout are pleased to announce the eighth instalment of our open-to-all, free-to-enter Cup competition, sponsored by Paddy Power.

This is your chance to join our previous winners – donnellyc, Jonty (no, really), Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster, Mch and reigning champion, Wild Rover – in our hall of fame.

Seasoned veterans can click here to submit their entry. For full details of when it starts and the prizes on offer, read on…

What is the Paddy Power Cup?

The Paddy Power Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Manager highest in the overall standing will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round will take place in Gameweek 11 but you can enter after the Gameweek is played out. All entries received before Monday November 11 will be entered into the qualifying round. In this first cup competition we will have 1024 qualifiers for the first round – those 1017 (plus 7 previous winners who will earn a bye if entered) with the top scores in Gameweek 11 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 12. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

How do I enter?

Simply fill out the entry form here. You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry. You can also check that you are entered via this list.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published on Tuesday November 12

What is the Gameweek Schedule

Each round of the Paddy Power Cup will be played out over the following schedule:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 11
  • Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 12
  • Round 2 – 512 teams – Gameweek 13
  • Gameweek 14 – Break
  • Round 3 – 256 teams – Gameweek 15
  • Round 4 – 128 teams – Gameweek 16
  • Round 5 – 64 teams – Gameweek 17
  • Gameweek 18 – Break
  • Round 6 – 32 teams – Gameweek 19
  • Gameweek 20 – Break
  • Round 7 – 16 teams – Gameweek 21
  • Quarter-Final – 8 teams – Gameweek 22
  • Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 23
  • Final – 2 teams – Gameweek 24

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon Voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon Voucher

In addition, the top scoring manager from each round will win a £25 free bet from Paddy Power on supply of their Paddy Power username.

Cup Entrants will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 or over to be eligible for some of the above prizes. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. You can, of course, enter without being over 18 and without a Paddy Power account but will not be eligible for the free bet prizes.

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record you entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFS username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter – you must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from the tournament.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Guys...

I need to buy Aguero, but to fund the move I need to do either

    A: Giroud + Michu -> Aguero + 6.3M Midfielder (who)
    B: Lukaku + Michu -> Aguero + 5.0M Midfielder (who)

My current midfield is Michu, YaYa, Ramsey, Ozil, and Januzaj.

So suggestions would be great. Thanks

Only thing with City is they've been poor away from home, whereas the Mackems did put in a shift last home game.

Then they have Spurs, which could potentially be the most boring game in the history of football if Spurs nullify City.

I am really stucked between these 2 options:

    - just Michu ➡ Cabaye, as a punt. And then probably get Walcott in for Cabaye after GW12. He should easily fully recover from an injury by then.

    - both Michu & Giroud ➡ Cabaye & Aguero for (-4 pts). I'd loose my only Arsenal coverage and a lots of value on Giroud (bought for 8.5). The only way to bring Walcott in then, would probably be Silva or Silva out.

What is your opinion about it, guys ? Thanks!

I'm also worried about getting Giroud out for the same reason, I'm leaning towards getting rid of him though, between Ramsey, Ozil, Carzola, Walcott there is a good chance the Arsenal goals will be fairly widespread meaning Giroud might not be value every week.
Coupled with the fact that midfielders in general aren't performing means you need to maximize the points out of your front row, I would say it's time for us to ditch him.

Bit of a mystery Cardiff, their defensive stats are pretty lame from what I remember, but they get clean sheets somehow.

Marshall was a one man hero to get them their last CS. This one, Swansea were pretty awful.

Might as well keep and see what happens, last ditch defence team.

Coleman. This new bloke seems to be looking to just avoid thrashings. Don't expect Palace to score but don't expect them to concede more than 2 or 3 either.

Lukaku to Benteke or do I need Aguero even though I have Silva? Who to bring in for Michu (8.5 or less)?

    My attack:
    Michu l Silva l Oscar l Brady l Ramsey
    Giroud l Sturridge l Lukaku

Does this sound like a good idea?

Michu and Sturridge > Ramsey and Suarez

    I have Ozil too

    Cheers
