Now the hustle and bustle of pre-deadline nerves is over we can all sit down to another enjoyable gameweek of footballing action as the points roll in, starting with…. oh.

Abort, Abort, Abort.

Saturday kicks off with Wigan playing host to Wolves, perhaps the most interesting fact from this game being… nope, I’ve got nothing.

However, we take what we’re given, and if you can draw yourself away from the Ryder Cup for long enough, then you will see that Jordi Gomez is granted a rare start for Wigan behind the recovered Franco Di Santo. Mick McCarthy meanwhile has given us no great surprises, the line-ups in full are…

Wigan XI: Al Habs; Boyce, Gohouri, Alcaraz, Figueroua; McCarthy, Thomas; N’Zogbia, Gomez, Rodallega; Di Santo.

Wolves XI: Hahnemann; Foley, Craddock, Berra, Ward; Edwards, Henry, Mancienne, Jarvis; Fletcher, Doyle.

After this however we have six 3 o’clock kick offs that may excite the palette just a little bit more as – amongst others – West Brom play host to Bolton, Manchester United travel up to Sunderland and Redknapp invites Houllier down to London for a big day out in the Capital.

The Dugout Discussion will be open through all the days action as usual. Godspeed.

Arsenal haven't always been that innocent themselves and I don't think Wenger can justify comments about other sides being too physical. Back in 2001/2 for example, Arsenal were the worst disciplined club in the league with 77 yellows and 6 reds, almost kicking their way to the title.

That was ten years ago and he has abandoned that and now they are a slightly petulant but not ugly side. What is your point really?

People are far too harsh on him, he is a sore loser but in the end he is right that there are too many ugly tackles flying in.

There are too many ugly tackles for sure. Le Prof suggested arsenal were targeted more though, which is just flat out nonsense, but that's his style.

Thats exactly it AP. There are alot of wild tackles now which need to be stopped but at the same time I think Wenger has a bad case of playing the victim all the time. I wouldnt mind that too much but I've noticed his attitude has rubbed off on some of the players.

He still gets lots of stick for pointing out a good thing though. It's some weird mentality that those tackles are good for the game or something that seem to exist in England.

        Two points.

        1) He can't really take the moral high ground, and it does make him look a sore loser.

        2) Arsenals lack of trophies as of late obviously suggests the abandonment is not going to win them anything.

When you're team have suffered stomach churning injuries in successive seasons Diaby, Eduardo, Ramsey. He may actually have a point about thuggery in the guise of football.

Yeah I know. Those players didn't mean to injure their fellow professionals. Walk grannies across busy roads, put the neighbourhood cats out at night & so on.

Five barren tough seasons without a damn trophy. It's tough, but you wont find me moaning about it. You get what you play for, end of.

Most Arsenal fans appreciate he's building something long term. He'll leave the club in significantly ruder health than he fund it.

Surprisingly good. Took a lot of knees to his face and still didnt get knocked out. Lasted all 5 rounds. Judges called it 49-46 to Watson, could have gone either way. Reid was fighing with one eye from the 3rd round, he couldnt see out of the other one because of swelling and blood.

To be a team (Wigan) that tries to pass the ball around a lot, they are surprisingly bad at passing.

That just struck me as well. They are a rare example of a team with more ideas than they can handle.

It's more common to see teams with strong and quick and whatever players that just have no ideas.

so essentially..doyle is chasing around arfter every wigan player, all the wolves lyers are like men possessed, thres alot of nigle, and wolves look SO determined to hold out. Kevin doyle is leading the line manfully, and i wouldnt be surprised if they nicked this.

Wigan are trying very intricate passing and it aint working so far

        Hi everyone,
Going to wildcard in the international break. My current team is this:
        Foster,Kirkland,
        Carr,Evra,Konchesky,Foley,Jara,
        Nani,Malouda,Bale,Ferguson,Ireland,
        Drogba,Carroll,Tevez.(1.6 in the bank).

And I'm falling just 0.1 short of this WC team:
        Foster,Carson,
        Samba,O'Shea,Konchesky,Foley,Jara,
        Nani,Malouda,Fabregas,Ferguson,Barton,
        Drogba,Odemwingie,Tevez.

I'm unable to get Samba in for Carr.Any ideas how I can get that team?I can sell Ferguson(4.4) for a 4.3 man,but I'm not sure if it's worth it as I don't want to let go of the best cheapest midfielder in FPL.Should I wait for Fabregas to drop in price further so that I can buy him cheap and also bring Samba in?Or should I buy ShawX at 4.8,even though Stoke haven't kept many CSs this season?Plz guys, any opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

I dont think Fabregas will drop further, in fact he'll probably start going back up as people bring him back in.

Personally I'd have Samba and change O'Shea to someone cheaper - L Young, Shawcross, Hughes or even Alcaraz or Enrique.

Alright mate, but still O'Shea provides that crucial United cover at the back. But you are right,Samba is almost a must have.So I'm thinking, why not do Carson->Al-Habsi,Krul or Mignolet(all 4.0),get Samba in somehow and worry about that GKing position later?
