Roberto Mancini has confirmed that Carlos Tevez has sustained a torn hamstring in tonight’s Premier League clash with Liverpool, a setback that seems almost certain to rule him out for Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final. City’s talismanic striker was forced from the field after just 15 minutes of the Anfield clash which City lost 3-0.

The full extent of the injury are not yet known but the Mancini did confirm a tear, stating that Tevez would seem unlikely to make Saturday’s Cup date with United…

“I think that it is very difficult for Saturday”

When asked whether the injury was likely to rule Tevez out for the rest of the season, Mancini appeared to be more optimistic…

“No, no, no. I don’t think so.”

Tevez would seem likely to undergo a scan on the injury in the next 24-hours and we can expect a prognosis soonafter.

With City facing a gameweek 33 blank, followed by a tough trip to Ewood Park, Fantasy Managers seem set to sell on the Argentine in their droves – over 200,000 Fantasy Premier League managers have transferred Tevez out of their squads since gameweek 31.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Tbh i must be one of few that actually like to see City get a champions league spot - i'd much rather Spurs got it though, if Tevez is cropped for the season that could well happen and it would be excellent.

I like City, but not enough to not enjoy them missing out, again

          lol, cropped = injured, no?

Is that just me, or is that not where the confusion lay...

What i meant is that with Tevez out i think they might struggle for 4th spot. I would like to see City get champions league, but i'd rather spurs get it - and i'd enjoy it slightly seeing City miss out again.

Its people who would rather 'anyone but united' had success. Its ridiculous really im a blyth spartans supporter but id have to say that for years man utd have been my 'second' team. In my lifetime theyve always played attractive football, had players i liked, had a commendable team ethic, had a manager i respect and an admirable never say die attitude. Literally no rational reason to dislike them as far as i can see. My two cents. Spend them wisely.

Tbh, i don't disagree with much of what you've said above (although the same logic could be applied to many teams), but in recent times they've had some massive c**ts playing for them. There is also the fact that as much as i respect fergie, he can have some massive double standards and whine too much at times - i don't think he does this because he is like that, but it's part of what makes him so good at his jobs (protecting players, applying pressure to the right people etc.), but it can be a bit frustrating.

Then there is the fact that some of the united fans are so mind-numbingly tedious that it really pulls you right the other way, and because united do so well all the time it is natural to want to see someone else win some stuff to keep things interesting - perfectly reasonable view to have imo.

In ten years time if United had faded into mid table obscurity and City were winning stuff year after year i very much doubt people would still be hating on them so much - afterall, most of the fans i was talking about would be supporting City 😉

He's only 57% to fall on TotalFPL and looks to be protected, so I don't think Coleman will drop. Maybe I've missed something, but he looks OK for the time being...I hope so anyway.

I still need convincing whether to invest in Brum defence for the DGW. I have plenty of Chelsea and Arsenal cover.

Is this lot worth an 8 point hit?? Would have to take another 8 point hit next week to line up another team worth putting out though. Am something like 6 points clear in my mini league.

      Foster

No chance Rio plays every game again. As long as they play CL, Rio = Ledley King 🙂

My guess, whatever it's worth, is Smalling plays @ Newcastle,.

Better to have Smalling, at the cheaper price, start - and be subbed out if necessary ... than subbing an expensive one

depends on your priorities ... if you already have him, it's basically a lateral trade in order to make some cash for elsewhere to trade for Smalling.

          Millionaire Club Safety Scores

          0 hits & no trades = 52, o hits but with trades = 53,

          Hits: 1 = 55, 2 = 58, 3 = 62, 4 = 67, 5 = 71

If this gameweek had the new rules starting in gameweek 33 the hit scores would look like this.

          Hits : 1 = 58, 2 = 62, 3 = 67, 4 = 71 ,5 = 75

At least 5 teams knocked of the 65 still in. RVP saved quite a few.

          48÷2(9+3) = ? What is your answer?

          48÷2(9+3)
          48÷2(12)
          48÷24
          = 2

          OR

          48÷2(9+3)
          24*(9+3)
          24*12
          = 288

This is the problem - with the above notation it does, so bodmas is 'right'. There is an ambiguity above where you basically get different answers if you do multiplication or division first.

I've just graduated with a masters in maths and i went into a teaching placement with some year 7 kids and i told them what you said (which i stand by tbh - it just doesn't work with maths that level, strange) and gave her a wrong answer - quite embarrassing, blame the notation....

                        tbh i can't remember?!

I just don't know why we don't teach proper notation from the start and do away with all of this! If you work outwards from the innermost brackets then left/right or division/multiplication doesn't even come into it..

History for me obviously, English is essential, basically in one way or another nearly everything - apart from RE and French 🙂

Well before the crash I was bloody busy doing field work - now I'm just doing reports now and again. Pretty dull.
I work mainly in pre-construction archaeology, main work being when they are planning new motorways in Ireland. We advise at the planning stage, then go in a year in advance or more to test the ground for sites, we excavate the sites that cannot be avoided and then publish the information. Here is one of the nicer sites I did, (the mill) it dates to between AD650-850. This is just a brief blurb from when I was still excavating it
                    http://www.nra.ie/Archaeology/Seanda-NRAArchaeologyMagazine/file,11163,en.pdf
I also worked in the Victoria Desert, Pilbara and Goldfields of Western Australia. Few other bits around the place too, good job if you like something different and a bit of travel but its been bad lately.

Some, i get a bit worried when i see the extent to which some people struggle with basic written english, and basic maths (http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/s/1022757_cool_cash_card_confusion - lol)

I wish they'd teach basic finanical sense stuff like budgeting for a week, or how credit cards/loans/mortgages work.

tbh, not even from a maths perspective - i just think that is such a fundamental thing that everyone needs to be able to do at some point in their lives, and so many people struggle with.

I'd throw in that basic knowledge of our electoral system needs to be taught too.

Well i went with 2. I suppose it's because the ÷ basically becomes redundant after gcse (is that right)?

I'd argue that it's a shitty way of writing things before i conceded that the answer was anything else tbh.

As far as I can remember, the order is given by PEMDAS:
            Parenthesis
            Exponents
            Multiplication
            Division
            Addition
            Subtraction
So I get 2, but this is apparently a minority answer...

Here's a maths trick to show off to your kids how clever you are

Pick any number between 1 and 10 (make it simple). Don't tell me the number

Multiply the number you thought of by 4
          Multiply the answer by 2

Divide the answer in the previous step with the number you thought of

          What do you get ?

And the one with the missing coin!

3 people get a room in a hotel, and it costs them 25 pounds. They paid a tenner each and were supposed to get 5 pounds back.

Since they couldn't divide the 5 pounds in three they gave 2 pounds to the helpful page(?), and shared the 3 remaining pounds.

At that stage they had all paid 9 quid (10 - the one they got back). And they had given two pounds to the page.

                      3 x 9 + 2 = 29. Where is the missing coin?!

One of my friends still don't believe this one works out.

                          Initially:

                          Person A: 10, Person B: 10, Person C: 10, Page: 0

                          After paying a tenner each:

                          A = B = C = 0, Page = 30

                          After change:

                          A+B+C = 5, Page = 25

After giving the page 2 quid:

                          A+B+C = 3, Page = 27

                          3 x 9 - 2 = 25, and they have settled up.

As for the £5 difference, they each get a pound and the page gets 2.

Was Kalou's first season the year we started against Birmingham? I guess not, but he might not have featured in that game, and played in a later game, and in fact case I don't have a clue!

I could not agree with Boom more adamantly. In this case, I pick Sturridge, as I'm not sure I'll get the chance to ditch Zamora for his horrible run post GW 34.

Im in a slightly more difficult situation because i actually should have the chance to replace zamora with carroll after the double but if injuries or suspensions make other transfers more of a priority i would be stuck with zamora and id rather have sturridge obviously. I dont know if i should just hope nothing happens and back zamoras 'better' double or prepare for the worst by getting sturridge.

I'm a play it safe kinda guy. I happen to think playing it safe rather than desperately grabbing differentials is how to move up the rankings. Instead of looking to get points that no one else is getting, one should make sure they ARENT missing points everyone else is getting.

Therefore, play it safe, and be ready just in case an injury happens. If you're stuck with Sturridge for the year, its not a bad thing at all.

I'll go one further: I think sturridge outscores Carrol from now until the end of the year.

I'm going for Sturridge. If you watched MOTD at the weekend you would have seen how many shots in or around the target he got off and how many brilliant positions for chances he got himself into. If he had got 5 goals it wouldn't have been unjust IMO.

Zamora scored two easy goals against Blackpool, who we all know can't defend. Still recovering fully from injury and won't get full 180 minutes for sure.

As I have always said, form>fixtures, go for Sturridge.

This is a tough one for me. Which defender with a value of 4.5 or less would you say has the best chance of points in DGW34. Please only include players who actually have a double in that GW.
