An all-London affair at the Emirates brings the curtain down on Gameweek 17 this evening. Plenty of Fantasy favourites are on show as the Gunners look for the win that would extend their lead to four points over the chasing pack:

For the hosts, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil are the main protagonists for Fantasy managers, whilst Theo Walcott will be looking to maintain the form that saw him score twice at the Etihad last weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s side roll up on the back of a poor form of form on the road. The Blues have been beaten in three of their last four away games in all competitions but know that a victory will draw them level with the Gunners on 36 points. Eden Hazard will be desperate to have his say before Fantasy managers turn our attentions to the Gameweek 18 fixtures on Boxing Day.

The team news sees the hosts make four changes from the side that lost 6-3 at City last time around. Kieran Gibbs and Thomas Vermaelen are drafted in for Nacho Monreal and Laurent Koscielny at the back, with the Frenchman sidelined due to a knee wound. Mikel Arteta partners Aaron Ramsey in the double-pivot, with Mathieu Flamini dropping out, whilst Tomas Rosicky gets the nod on the left, replacing the suspended Jack Wilshere. Lukas Podolski warms the Gunners bench along with the likes of Santi Cazorla.

The Blues make three alterations from the XI that edged past Palace. Gary Cahill replaces David Luiz in defence, whilst John Obi Mikel and Frank Lampard are drafted into midfield – Michael Essien drops out through suspension while Juan Mata takes his place on the bench, allowing Ramires to move onto the right of the attacking midfield three. Oscar, Andre Schurrle and Samuel Eto’o are also amongst the subs, with Fernando Torres leading the line again.

Once again, we’ve opened the Dugout Discussion chatroom for those partial to some real-time reaction.

Norwich's defender Whittaker @ 3.9 seems like great value (for rotation)

Is he likely to continue with gametime ?

    Guys,

Bench Coutinho for the time being and scrap proposed plan to Silva or Wally,

    OR

Do Glen J to BAINES ?

    Cheers.

Nope. The weird BAPS system means that nearly always the home team defense is favored in case of a 0-0 (as they keep and pass the ball around at the back a lot more).

Not checked with stats, just from previous games I remember.

don't get this theory, the one you mention below too, if i'm honest. chelsea had a bit more of the game so arsenal defs understandably picked up more bonus

Hmm.. A team at home usually has more possession which usually results in a lot more of passing at the back etc..

Since the pass percentage and passes have a set BPS score, while they should be balanced out by the interceptions etc from the other team (8 for one Bonus), practically they are not.

So while clearly Chelsea had a very good defensive performance, the BAPS in these cases are unusually skewed towards the home team. While this is not the case usually, it seems to be a trend.

So what I meant was that while home defenders get maybe a +4BPS for clean sheets, away ones could get a +5 or something, considering it is much harder to do it and because the other team is going to have a lot of possession recycling in their own half anyway.

From a purely not statistical point of view I thought Azpi was very impressive, yet he does not feature anywhere when the BAPS are looked at.

Sorry, seems a little illogical, I know.

actually think eriksen and chadli are the most nailed for next gw, one of siggy and lamela to drop out, based on precedent i'd lean toward lamela getting the chop

Ward Clyne* Terry -- Williams Chester

Walcott(VC) Ramsey Fer Hazard -- RavMor

    Suarez(C) Rooney Lukaku
    -----------------------------------------------------

    A - Vorm -> Marshall

Thinking of Dawson to Baines to give me...

    Marshall | Mannone
    GJ | Coleman | Baines | Ward | Rosenior
    Hazard | Ramsey | Silva | Januzaj | Morrisson
    Rooney | Suarez | Lukaku

Good move or too much Everton?

Jags or Coleman before Baines IMO

I'd be more likely to replace GJ with his fixtures and pools defensive form.

So, if Ramsey replacement scores more than Ramsey, then we got a differential.

The only person around his price range is Cabaye. And i'm thinking of going

        Hazard / Silva / Yaya / Ramsey / Cabaye

Partly because I have too much value in Ramsey and once I sell him there's no going back. And partly because I think he's still very good value for money.

Lallana etc are all very inconsistent.
